  1. What about the boarding passes Goliath and Raging Bull had? How did those work out? Take a number when you enter the queue and then you have to have the numbers in order when entering the station.
  2. The first train that valleyed was a test cycle, correct? Then the second was loaded while the test cycle was mid course? If so that seems like the worst mistake that was made (IMO). The purpose of test cycles is to make sure that the ride is operating correctly both mechanically and electrically, and will return to the station safely. But that was ignored, and the second train was dispatched before proving that everything was in proper working order and that the weather wasn't too severe to run in. Had the second train also been empty most of this wouldn't have happened. There wouldn't have be four guests in the hospital in pain right now. Just two damaged trains. Which sucks for a park, it's potentially lost revenue as a star attraction is closed, it's more lines at other attractions, and it's expensive and slow to get repaired. But it won't harm people and I can assure you the park is going to make damn sure it never happens again.
  3. It's not generally erroneous sensors, it's when there's a discrepancy between a set of sensors or something happens that the ride didn't expect to happen.
  4. Because a single rider is in more danger than two people together? If they're out of their restraints the person sitting next to them isn't stopping them from leaving the car. You can't say that the ride is safer because of it, only that the park has a slight chance of reacting differently should the event happen again. It's reactionary not precautionary.
  5. What problems with colossus are more than cosmetic and a safety hazard?
  6. Seattle would. Over here on this side, no. Spokane's population is ~210,000.
  7. I think it's interesting to point out that the whole reason RMC started developing new kinds of track was because they thought there must be a better way to build wooden track than has been done for decades. Because they were constantly fixing and maintaining the same sections of track over and over.
  8. I'd enjoy the rainy forecast. Many people will stay away, except maybe mainly season pass holders who generally know what they're doing at the park. Short lines everywhere, and many parks are pretty consistent as to rain policies. And most don't care about rain, only lightning. Just plan to have some extra clothes to change into something dry later in the day.
  9. Yup, just like a launched B&M Wingrider is a Holiday World exclusive, a Maxi Dance 360 is a Silverwood exclusive (to my knowledge), and S&S FreeSpin's are exclusive to Six Flags.
  10. Any sources? Can anyone vouch for this? Really... This again? From RMC's Q&A:
  11. SFNE removes rides for no reason. Since when is SFNE a good example of how to manage existing rides?
  12. That absolutely looks like a sign designed to "grow" over a period of time.
  13. Correct. Six Flags is the only company with I-Box rides, but not the only one that can buy one. It's a Six Flags exclusive according to Magic Mountain president Bonnie Rabjohn, the video of her stating this is on youtube if you wanna check it out. It's not, according to RMC.
  14. Correct. Six Flags is the only company with I-Box rides, but not the only one that can buy one.
  15. The test seat exists. I've seen it. I'm sure they get it installed soon, which should help.
  16. I thought the same thing too, but Six Flags Magic Mountain's president said that the I-Box track was a Six Flags exclusive (for the time being) during the opening ceremony yesterday. I'm guessing he was referring to the fact that they're the only people to install it currently. But RMC has said (when they did the Q&A on Facebook) that it's available to anyone who's interested. Trust me, we'll see someone else with I-Box eventually.
  17. RMC isn't in any sort of exclusive Six Flags deal. Six Flags just continually buys enough each season so they've been (almost) the only ones to install RMC coasters. With their new track manufacturing facilities that they've finished it's likely we'll see more in the future.
  18. Well if the station is empty and waiting for a train to return then more trains help capacity.
  19. I have no idea, I've only sat in two of the TC trains (Purple and Green). I'd expect them all to be about the same though, since I'm not aware of a different restraint on them.
  20. I'm still remaining optimistic for a little bit. They'll get better at checking trains and knowing how when they can/can't duel based on when they can dispatch. And RMC knows about the tough lap bars and is working on improving them.
  21. You could make it slow to some speed. And if it reached x way up the lift before the next train was dispatched, speed up to full speed and not wait any longer. Preferably it would no longer wait once it reaches a point where if the other train was running full speed up and it was at its slowest, they still wouldn't sync. That would give them the greatest amount of time to dispatch. And dispatch speeds will get better once they're more used to the new train. Likely none of the ops have ran a ride with those trains and restraints before. Although the lap bars are really heavy.
  22. I'd bet they didn't have the right one in stock and wanted to keep running the rest of the train. The wheel works, and was ready to go. No sense in running with less capacity while they waited for the replacement from S&S.
  23. What's involved in loading and unloading? Just opening and closing the front part? Seatbelts or something?
  24. By "the area" I mean within an hour or so of the park. Not 5 hours away in Seattle.
