  1. Great photos! Didn't know Magic Mountain is all green now! Is the end of Oblivion really as slow as the POV had shown?
  2. Nylon wheels. They don't get affected by temperature as much as polyurethane wheels, which means on cold weather!
  3. YES! They seem quite weird this way! I think with the super fast transitions, more support might be needed to keep the swaying at a controllable level so using double spine would be a waste of steel anyway.
  4. I don't think it's possible. Victory Kingdom and Happy Valley is 30 minutes bullet train apart, you'll have to wait 20 minutes to get a taxi at both stations, Happy Valley is another 40 minutes from the bullet train station. They are in two ends of the city and it's hard to get around. I would skip Victory Kingdom because U-Shaped Coaster hasn't been operating for over a year now. The park is a ghost town and they simply don't have the money to operate it anymore. Oh, remember to keep your bullet train ticket, you can get a discount on Happy Valley ticket.
  5. TC doesn't look any worse than WC after all! SFMM got a winner for sure! Blue side Top Gun Stall especially!
  6. Thoughts go to the families of the victims. The way a lot of Chinese park operate really is waiting for accidents to happen. Yesterday was Labor Day so the crowd must be insane. Still, ride operator can't just skip the procedure!
  7. New one!!! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  8. Does this one have one of those wheel chair seats?
  9. Crystal Beach park, mainly because of Crystal Beach Cyclone. Opryland sounds cool as well, really wish it's still around.
  10. The new track design saved so many cross ties, great job Intamin!
  11. Just heard that the woodie didn't pass the safety test so it won't open with the park. One day admission will be ¥200 (around $32) for the grand opening.
  12. When The Voyage was being designed, HW's maintenance team actually requested that they design the storage area to where the trains rest on the upstop wheels. This supposedly makes it easier to get up under the trains to work on stuff and inspect them. Also to eliminate flat spots on road wheels so that the ride would be smoother. Was B&M the first one to start doing it? And how can Intamin coasters stay so smooth without having to rest on upstop wheels or storage wheels?
  13. That's some big wheels and long cars! This is rather rare since super tight designs with shin guards are everywhere these days.
  14. Haha This is what I meant, it's impossible to just put a MF train on a Gerstlauer family coaster! Wheel assembly aren't even facing the same direction!
  15. ^^Almost exactly the same. Picturing the image of Millennium Flyer running on Gerstlauer family coaster track is quite funny.
  16. After NTaG, I bet Six Flags is pretty much done with Gerstlauer. Plus all I've heard is how DDD is a capacity nightmare, even though it's not like SFOG is remotely close to pushing the dispatching limit.
  17. Tremors hasn't had any need of replacement or refurbishment. It's still the smoothest part of the ride by far. I remember reading somewhere that Topper track's top layer needs to be changed every 5 years, that's even better to know! Seems like Topper track is even stronger than RMC expected!
  18. All the money they've put into retracting Voyage and fixing the damage from those PTC trains is probably more than the cost of topper tracking the roughest sections. For a long run, topper track is a better choice. PTC trains can run just fine so there's no need to purchase new RMC trains. Anyone know the approximate cost of topper track's top layer replacement? Has Tremors done a refurbishment after 5 years of using topper track?
  19. Super Loops Oh wait... Seriously though, I'd like to see WC clones with topper track pop up on more SF parks, they have small foot prints and the layout really packs a punch.
  20. ^ The whole thing feels like it's focused on Voyage and Kentucky Rumbler. Probably because both Six Flags and Intamin are super protective about El Toro. Is Thunderbird's force around the Banshee range? If so, Parrot Coaster finally got a cousin!
  21. Chimelong Paradise: Dive Coaster Ocean Kingdom: Parrot Coaster Happy Valley Shenzhen: Bullet Coaster Ocean Park: Wild West Mine Train HK Disneyland: Space Mountain (haven't been on Grizzly Mountain yet)
  22. If the "one big B&M for Cedar Fair each year" thing is true, this could be the one! Just don't want to believe SWO is getting a B&M hyper.
  23. The HUSS one at Ocean Park give some incredible airtime. Still haven't tried an Intamin or Chance Pirate Ship, seems like they get the best reviews.
  24. Wasn't it already confirmed a few months ago?
