  1. That's because probably only Chimelong group is putting tourist attractions at their first priority. All the other ones are using amusement park as a selling point for their otherwise worthless real estates. Park guests are indeed not the best, but still usually better than I expected other than the horrible umbrella issue.
  2. Yes! Single file lines!!! That would work perfectly for China, especially that area.
  3. This is like Mega-Lite, you can put it anywhere and guests would love it. LC has a winner on their hands! Congratulations to Premier Rides on their success as well!
  4. Even now I panic before the car drops. I hadn't been able to ride any drop tower until 2012 when I got on a Fabbri at a county fair. It scared the crap out of me but at the same time, I started to get over the fear. Over the years drop towers don't scare me as much. I do remember being more scared of Blue Fall than Dodonpa, even though Dodonpa ended up a million times scarier.
  5. CCI and GCI are special on their own. Kind of like Intamin and B&M. CCI coasters offer crazy rides from start to finish and GCI are more family oriented and rerideable. I don't know about the cost of maintenance but I've heard GCI's Millennium Flyer damage the track slightly less than PTC or Gerstlauer trains. I like them both very much, the CCI's I've been on are intense and creative. Boss, Zeus and Cyclops are very good even though the roughness get quite unbearable after a few rerides. Like most people here, I wish CCI is still around to make magic. Gravity Group at this point is going more towards the GCI direction lately.
  6. There's an axle that the track twists around like heartline and center of two rails. Arrow use one of the two rails as the axle. But the rail used as the axle goes slightly inwards to compensate with the track moving upwards/downwards. In this photo of Vortex, the axle is the left rail. Moving inwards is a bit more obvious in this photo:
  7. Cyclops came in mind when thinking about risks.
  8. Pleasant: Fujiyama- I loved the twisted hills at the end of the ride, they are very unique and make you feel like you're on a slightly rough GCI woodie. Steel Dragon 2000- Very fun ride with surprisingly strong positive G. The first drop is much better than I expected as well. Eejanaika- New train made it the smoothest traditional 4D coaster. The last two elements are insanely fast maybe due to shorter trains. Facing the catwalk on the brake run is a nice bonus. Hollywood Dream The Ride- Forward is a snooze fest, but back drop is definitely much better. Space Fantasy- final show room and some good spinning are pleasant surprises. Blackhole Scramble- Some nice pops of air, not Space Mountain good but has its moments. Space World log flume- helix! Milky Way- Very good airtime, feels like you're jumping on the standup side. Unpleasant: Gao- Rough! Rough! Rough!
  9. American Thunder Bullet Coaster Cyclops Dizzy Love and Whirling Passion strictly for the name, otherwise Dodonpa Eejanaika Fjord Flying Dragon Giant Inverted Boomerang Hollywood Dream The Ride Iron Dragon Judge Roy Scream (Journey to the Center of the Earth is my No.1 amusement ride, I prefer it to Outlaw Run) Kawasemi Looping Star Maverick Ninja SFStL, because Nio is even worse. Outlaw Run Powder Keg Q-none Riddler's Revenge Starry Sky Ripper or Space Fantasy Top Thrill Dragster Ultra Twister Veil of Dark Wild West Mine Train X2 Youngstar Coaster Zatun
  10. Infinity Coaster is a new design. The train design is completely different from Euro Fighters and the track style was modified.
  11. Congratulations to Gerstlauer on another project! Their layouts lately are really stepping up!
  12. Outlaw Run Maverick Mega-Lite/Kawasemi Powder Keg Dodonpa Top Thrill Dragster Poltergeist Millennium Force Magnum XL-200 Fjord Flying Dragon
  13. Thank you so much for the TR, this thing looks so gorgeous!
  14. ^ Hey, finally an intense ride from Mondial
  15. Sterry Sky Ripper's loop. I thought it is just a standard loop taken at a laying down position, can't be that crazy because it's a B&M. Boy I was wrong!
  16. Here's the sidewinder before the second modification.
  17. Yeah my stomach won't be able to stand most of these.
  18. Oh how can I forget about Maverick's second launch? Pretty sure most GP were not expecting that.
  19. If they wouldn't have designed that building with the wavy roof, they wouldn't have had to design those hills the way they are. I would put the blame on Tokyo Dome City for that one and not necessarily Intamin. They can even make a few crossings or barrel rolls on it, I would thank Tokyo Dome City for that roof honestly.
  20. Totally agree about Thunder Dolphin's trick track! If they replace it with a couple of twisted airtime hills the coaster would be so much better! What about Anaconda and Titan MAX's butterfly?
  21. Let's talk about things on a coaster that came out of nowhere or we didn't know it was there. Most of the time we know what to expect but sometimes special effects, unique elements, unexpected forceful moments etc would surprise us. Spoiler alert for the whole thread!! 1. Space Fantasy final showroom (surprise special effect) 2. Kärnan lift drop 3. Steel Dragon 2000 helix (forceful moment) 4. Outlaw Run outward banked turn (airtime) 5. Grizzly Mountain reverse drop, it's quite obvious but a lot of people still got scared by it. Tell us more about what surprised, or even scared you on a coaster!
  22. Seems like the two Frisbees are the same. That's quite a weird decision. I guess Zamperla is using a brand new type of seat on one of them.
