  1. You know you're in a Six Flags park if you find the best clone ride on the planet (Batman)
  2. ^^ I recommend the KOA campground in Sandusky. You can book a 4-person cabin for $45 per night, or you could get a walk-in-anytime tent site for $30. Depends on your outdoorsiness
  3. There was a story at Wonderland where a mother tried to sneak outside food into the park (baby food, yogurt, and a sandwich), claiming that it was all for her 15-month-old baby. The park policy is that only baby food is allowed into the park, so she was denied bringing the rest of the food in. Instead of simply leaving the food in her car, they left... turned in their season passes, stating: "when he’s old enough to have a $15 hot dog, we can go back". I just can't believe that people could be that ignorant or arrogant. Let's not put ourselves above everybody else and just follow the park rules!
  4. More under the 'ugly' category, Excalibur is an odd looking ride to me. It looks like something you'd build in your back yard
  5. Microsoft Excel and rcdb.com fo me. Does anybody here count "clone" credits? Example: you visit a new park but skip the Vekoma Boomerang or SLC because you have been on those models dozens of times in other parks. Or is that cheating?
  6. ^ For now, I think it's only the split-rowed B&Ms rolling out the seat belts (Behemoth, Diamondback, Intimidator).
  7. Unnamed Mighty Canadian Minebuster RMC: Height: 95 Feet Speed: Over 57 MPH Inversions: 2 The turn after the lift hill is now part of the drop Airtime hill after the waterslide on the "out" run is turned into a barrel roll Turnaround is turned into overbank hill over the walkway to the pink/purple slide is turned into a Zero-G stall Helix at the end has much steeper banking than it currently has, with 90-degree banking in the tunnel Let's start a petition to make this happen
  8. ^When does a ride really count as a coaster? I don't see it on RCDB.
  9. Mean Streak is not rough at all. Just a tad dull in terms of world-class thrills. You can already hear the trims just before the first drop in the front row. Wildcat was a little rattly, but still an exciting ride. Gwazi was so rickety I honestly cannot comment on it. Not to sure if it was good or bad
  10. If you're driving in your car and when you see the fuel range, you think of a coaster stat (ex. 194 = Magnum XL's drop).
  11. Megalites and RMCs seem to be near-porn-material for the true coaster enthusiasts... I've not yet been on either, but planning on my first RMC this year (Goliath).
  12. Annoying stuff: - People who get off the ride right before you are next to board, yet they still somehow manage to get in your way by pyloning themselves right in front of the storage cubbies. - On a related topic, people who in a row-of-four-ride go in ahead of you, sit their fat asses down, and when you try to squeeze by them to throw your stuff into the storage cubbies, they try to self-righteously claim "this seat is taken"...no freakin' dogturds you hippopotami!! Is this really your first time on a roller coaster?? Next time I hear someone say that, I'm shoving my hat, sunglasses, and other belongings up their hopelessly tight nether-regions. - Oh and line jumpers too, but you all knew that
  13. 1920's - Jack Rabbit 1940's - Comet (Hersheypark) 1960's - Thunderbolt (Kennywood) 1970's - Gemini 1980's - Magnum XL200 1990's - Ride of Steel 2000's - Phantom's Revenge 2010's - I-305
  14. Earlier this week in TO it dropped from 70 down to about 30 in 24 hours. Craziness!
  15. Nice, thanks! I'm surprised to see certain rides so low: - Magnum XL at #82 - Gatekeeper at #108 - Steel Force at #132 - Hydra at #172 - Batwing at #229 And Leviathan was voted better than MF? I don't know about that
  16. Does anybody have the link to the complete results?
  17. Pleasant Surprise: Batwing at SFA. I dreaded roughness as per Vekoma standard, but it was smooth enough and pretty forceful. I'd even peg it ahead of the B&M Superman flyer clones. Unpleasant Surprise: Apocalypse at SFA. Newly re-built ride, so I assumed it would be somewhat smoother than other B&M stand-ups... oh me oh my was I wrong.
  18. ^^ What were the wait times like opening weekend? I'm going down this weekend. Also, season pass processing looks to be time-consuming... should I get that done before riding? I'm aiming to get there for park opening time.
  19. What was the wait time for I-305? I was thinking about going down this weekend.
  20. In alphabetical order: - Anaconda - Batman the Ride (SFMM only) - Flight Deck (Wonderland) - Green Lantern (SFGA) - Gwazi - Le Cobra - Mantis - Predator - Riddler's Revenge - Skyrider
  21. Trying to squeeze in SFA and Hersheypark into next (my birthday) weekend. Anybody know if Hershey's 'preview plan' applies to the springtime dates?
  22. Past and present: 1. Great Adventure 2. Magic Mountain (would have been 1st had it not been for the operations) 3. La Ronde (underrated in my opinion - beautiful location within a major city, yet still has that small park atmosphere) 4. Darien Lake
  23. That's a tough one for me, but I'd say Cedar Point (Maverick, MF, Dragster). Magnum would easily make it best the foursome.
  24. Nothing beats the view of Cedar Point driving up the peninsula
