  1. I found the best way to ride Magnum was to use the "rodeo" method where one hand holds the lapbar up from crushing you and the other hand is high in the air. The airtime on Magnum is insane, that's one of the reasons I think it's better than Millennium. It has been several years since I have been to CP, but I dont remember the lap bar being a problem at all on Magnum. Does it have anything to do with a person's size? I am a tiny scrawny guy, and was even more so then. I rode it in 2004. The key is to sit in the back. The airtime near the back is enjoyable versus painful in the front. Try it
  2. 1. Keep the GP happy. You draw their money. 2. Evolve along with the latest industry standards. This keeps the park fresh.
  3. I've been to Cedar Point nine times, and is my favourite park. Every time they've done a fine job with efficiency, especially considering their large collection of attractions. The longest lines have rarely exceeded an hour for me. I'd say you have it pretty good where you are right now. If you're looking to explore, Kennywood is 2ish hours past Cedar Point, and is a real treat if you're into small traditional parks. The longest I've had to wait for Phantom's Revenge or Sky Rocket was 45 mins if that. I recommend it. Good luck!
  4. We all love roller coasters, but is there a particular type that you aren't fond of? For me it's stand-ups. Even the best one I.M.O. (Green Lantern) is not that enjoyable for me. What are yours? Please share!
  5. Track below the trains = Intamin Track above the trains = B&M
  6. Leviathan - the flat section before the sloped brake run could be another airtime hill.
  7. I only really started getting into roller coasters a year and a half ago... at 30 years old. I'd say that coaster enthusiasts aren't a dying breed at all
  8. 1. Maverick 2. Millennium Force 3. TTD 4. Magnum Xl200 5. Gatekeeper 6. Raptor 7. Wicked Twister 8. Gemini 9. Blue Streak 10. Mean Streak 11. Mantis 12. Cedar Creek Mine Ride 13. Iron Dragon 14. Corkscrew
  9. I was on my way to Martin's Fantasy Island, and got turned around at the border for having my friend's stuff in my car. I backtracked, got a campground for a day, set up my tent, emptied my car into it, went back to the border, and got across... all for two roller coasters. Never credit whoring again!
  10. Confirmed: - Busch Gardens Tampa - Funspot America - Universal Orlando - Seaworld Orlando - Six Flags New England - Lake Compounce - Great Escape - Six Flags Great America - Michigan's Adventure - King's Island - Holiday World Questionable: - Mount Olympus - Indiana Beach - Kentucky Kingdom - Six Flags America All new parks
  11. Cedar Fair: I-305 Six Flags: El Toro SeaWorld Entertainment: Apollo's Chariot Herschend: Ride of Steel Disney Parks: Space Mountain Indy: Storm Runner / Phoenix
  12. ^^ You need to try SkyRider at CW. I find it's better than Riddler's Revenge, Green Lantern, Mantis, or LE Cobra. It has by far the most airtime, and the bunny hills at the end are a surprising treat
  13. Cedar Point, "The Roller Coaster Capital of the World", should live up to its name and add some record-breaking water coasters to Soak City
  14. You might be a coaster nerd if you can explain X2 to someone without confusing the living crap out of them.
  15. ^ SkyRider at CW, I am now offically a coaster nerd!!
  16. Boomerang: The Bat (CW) - early 90's SLC: Top Gun (CW) - 1995 MK1200: Super Manage (La Ronde) - 2012 Invertigo: Stinger (Dorney) - 2013
  17. Discovering some new territory: - Florida in February (BGT, Funspot, Universal, Seaworld) - SFNE/Lake Compounce - King's Island/Holiday World - SFGAmerica/Michigan's Adventure Hoping to hit #200 by the end of the year
  18. Eh. I think it's a better name than "Ghoster Coaster." Awww I thought Ghoster Coaster was an awesome name when I was a kid Today, Flight of Fear sounds a bit tacky for an adult coaster. And Hurler sounds more nauseating than thrilling (although the ride was pretty good)
  19. Leviathan at CW. The ride itself is great, it just seemed redundant for CF to put a B&M giga into a park that already has an arguably superior B&M hyper. Could've had a mega-lite
  20. Non-Disney ("pre-Florida") trip in February: BGT, Universal, Sea World
  21. Hills all the way (especially ejector airtime). Honourable mention goes to pretzel loops.
  22. Dragon Fire at Wonderland, last coaster of the year
