Even though Sky Rocket 2s are starting to become the new boomerang, I actually think one would be a perfect addition to Kentucky Kingdom. It would cover the launch category, the shuttle category, and the inversion category, and would have a small footprint and be fairly cheap. Makes perfect sense to me. And, it is mostly different from anything at Holiday World or Kings Island, if that matters.

Listen to this guy! I do this on Riddler all the time and it makes the ride way more tolerable. Gotta make sure you're completely standing up to avoid any issues... -
Track Spottings!

I think it's safe to assume that every piece of track we see at the plant currently is going overseas. That is, unless some of that track is for Knott's -

Nice little report. I really hope I'm able to make it out to Carowinds this summer and get some use out of my Knott's Platinum Pass. I've been dying to get on Fury and Afterburn, and if Intimidator is half as good as Nitro, I'd be happy. -

I'm right there with you. The ride will open in 2018, and having the park announce the ride sometime soon doesn't change that fact. On the topic of 2017, the water park expansion is looking fantastic--and much needed. When I last visited in 2014, it was pretty obvious that their water park wasn't quite on par with some of Cedar Fair's other ones. I'm glad Knott's and CP are both getting large expansions to theirs because they both desperately needed it. -
This seems to be an unpopular opinion but I completely agree with you. It's barely even worth the walk up the hill for me. I agree as well. The ride is far more visually impressive than thrilling. I prefer Lex Luthor quite a bit more than Superman. Not to mention, the ride is incredibly obnoxious to walk under. Why does it use steel wheels (or at least, it sounds like steel wheels)?

I highly doubt this will happen, and I also hope it doesn't. I would rather have Revolution be a VR mess than Lex Luthor (which is already one of the worst capacity drop towers out there). But I completely agree that they should take the "organized" approach of Cedar Point and SFGA. Every park should do that IMO. I hope this VR craze is just a fad. I understand it's easily marketable, but nothing compares to riding a coaster in the good ol' fresh air and seeing your surroundings... especially drop towers IMO.

Sunday, November 2, 1975 Hello everyone! As you likely know, Adventure Kingdom has its largest investment yet, Patriot, well under construction to prepare for the 1976 season! Patriot will be Adventure Kingdom's tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster with a height of 95 feet, a top speed of 48 M.P.H., and a stunning length of 3,480 feet of track! The ride will feature a stunning white and red structure with blue- and cyan-accented trains. In order to prepare for the scheduled March 1976 opening of this HUGE new ride, construction must be well underway before the season has closed for the park! Today is the last day of operation for the 1975 season, so let's check out the construction of Patriot! It was a fairly slow day. The lush main midway! I see something in the background... but more on that later. Shooting Star DID end up reopening before the end of the season, but it has been on one-train operation, leading to a small line that would otherwise be nonexistent. Runaway Express is also on one-train service. It's a slow day and the last day of operation, so that's understandable. Kingdom Carousel had no line. Now let's see what's happening over at Patriot's site. The foundation and some scaffolding is in place at Patriot's station. Not to mention, LOTS of track has been placed! The ride has almost been topped off! It's amazing how large the footprint of this ride is. More dirt being moved around. And even MORE dirt being moved around at the far end of the layout. This ride is HUGE. In order to accommodate Patriot, the Kingdom Railroad has to be re-routed in some spots, therefore it has been closed for the last few weeks. That's all for now. Stay tuned, because 1976 is going to be great!

After a year hiatus, I plan on reviving this park and continuing with updates. Patriot will get built, and the timeline will continue where it left off in late 1975. If all goes well, look for an update sometime Sunday. Excited to get back on track with Adventure Kingdom. I have big plans for this park that I have yet to execute.

Looks great! Are they using friction wheels as brakes? That's interesting. -

I see where you're coming from. Maybe it will look a little nicer once everything has settled and vegetation has grown (if any). It's still only March, so I imagine it may look a little better as the summer months arrive. -

I've only been on Manta at SWSD, but I gotta say 9/10 due to the awesomely comfortable trains and super smooth ride. GateKeeper -
Yes. It's hard for me to stay in bed past 8:30 or 9:00. Is Six Flags Magic Mountain the best Six Flags park?

Yep. I imagine it will be completely assembled in the next 2-3 days, and we could possibly see testing soon. Does anybody know how long it takes to test new flat rides before opening? Do they need as many runs as new roller coasters do? I'd love to see this open sometime during the Festival! Last year, I had to cycle each tower of Valleyfair's 16 year old S&S Tower 50 times for pre-season testing. I'm sure the process is around that much, if not more for a new ride. Is Sol Spin a relocated/refurbished Top Scan, or fresh off the assembly line? Fresh off the line. If you notice, there are 6 seats per row on this version, where every other version has 5. Knott's, for whatever reason, wanted more capacity, and it was designed to fit on Windseeker's old anchor bolts as well. It's not only new, but custom. Can't wait to ride... I LOVED Samurai at Lagoon.
