  1. Give Skyrush B&M Hyper restraints/seats, and that's about as close to flawless as a coaster can get. In terms of coasters that already exist, Maverick with its updated restraints is pretty darn close to perfect.
  2. I really hope not. Riddler is arguably the best stand-up out there and should stay that way for a while. If Six Flags wanted to convert Green Lantern or Apocalypse, they can be my guest, but Riddler and Scorcher should really stay stand-ups. I'm not totally sure how I feel about the yellow supports on Riddler (according to concept art). I just see it becoming a faded mess in a few years like Tatsu. Faded yellow looks far worse than faded black. Oh well, at least it's getting some love.
  3. Merlin maps are some of the ugliest maps I've ever seen. Everything about it is an eyesore. It took me forever to find where SW8 was!
  4. Agreed. I've never been much of a dark ride person, but the park desperately needed an indoor ride with AC that the whole family could enjoy. Interesting to see the RR will be painted green and yellow. I was honestly expecting them to paint it green and purple and call it Joker lol
  5. This is not surprising. Kingda Ka is seriously one of the most overrated, disappointing coasters on the planet. This just goes to show the wide variety of opinion among enthusiasts. I LOVED Kingda Ka. My expectations were fairly low due to being underwhelmed by TTD, but it blows TTD out of the water and I have absolutely no idea why. Yes, it's shakier, and it has OTSRs, but it just felt way more out of control and thrilling (which is what I like) than TTD. It, El Toro, and Nitro all make a really solid top 3 at the park, and I like them all almost equally. Very interesting.
  6. I took my very first ride on Superman the Ride (SFNE) in the front row in the morning, and I was quite underwhelmed. Luckily the ride warmed up and got a little faster during the day, and the back row is better, but I still think the ride is severely overrated.
  7. Why Xcelerator, of course. But GhostRider is a close second place now, especially at night when it hauls a$$. California's Great America?
  8. This is very true! Didn't think about that
  9. Door handle! California or Florida (theme-park-wise)?
  10. I don't follow DCI much, but I'm a senior in high school and have done four years of marching band. Nice to see a thread about something I've spent the last four years (plus concert band in junior high) doing. Go euphoniums!
  11. Just something interesting to note... this RMC track doesn't have the "unpainted" rails that Joker and Storm Chaser had this year. I remember them doing that to avoid the paint problem they had on Twisted Colossus the year prior. That just caught my eye.
  12. Interesting. Knott's really has a lot of stuff coming this year. Virtual reality is not really my thing after trying it on a few coasters, but at least they didn't throw it on a coaster. This will definitely take place in the laser tag/arcade arena, not actual Ghost Town. That's the last thing the park would want to do after emphasizing its historical significance with Ghost Town Alive and all that this summer.
  13. The thing with Skyrush is that the restraints CAN get tight and uncomfortable, but at lease you are very open and free. On Superman, it feels like a solid piece of metal that sits just above your knees on your lower femur, and when you get airtime, it's like they're trying to break your femur in half. Maybe I'm the wrong height/body shape, but they are probably my all-time least favorite restraints.
  14. ^Awesome! Even though I don't think it lives up to the hype it gets, I did enjoy Superman quite a bit. If only it had better restraints. I actually prefer the ones on Skyrush!
  15. I visited the park for the first time last summer and it was pretty bad. Maybe I was spoiled after visiting SFGAdv and SFNE beforehand, but the park was not impressive at all. Operations were atrocious (VR Superman was ), and the rides were either mediocre or complete sh** (looking at you, Apocalypse). I really have no desire to ever go back unless they had some huge new coaster. If the park has made lots of improvement over the years, I can't imagine how I would have felt about it back then...
  16. Taken out of the context of the thread, this is both hilarious and entirely believable. Very true! I was the only one in the stations for Steel Force, Stinger, and Demon Drop! I had to double check the rides were actually open.
  17. And I'm totally fine with this. The element of surprise keeps me interested.
  18. The only time I've been truly alone at a theme park was my 4-hour visit to Dorney Park last summer. It was a "pit stop" on our way from Hersheypark to SFNE, so my parents dropped me off for a few hours so I could check out the park and pick up some credits while they run some errands. Now that I finally have my license (don't judge), I definitely plan to head to Knott's alone a few times if the rest of the family doesn't feel like going. And when I head off to college this fall, I will likely do solo visits to Lagoon whenever I get the chance as well.
  19. It really is beautiful when S&S towers are all lit up. Knott's lights up Supreme Scream pink during February for their breast cancer awareness event, and it's so gorgeous, I wish it was like that every night.
  20. I HATE it when people try to get my attention when I'm clearly in a conversation with someone (or especially when the other person is speaking to me). So irritating.
  21. YES! I loved Valley Hills, so I'm thrilled to see you work on another park. Loving it!
  22. Definitely Knott's. Already got my money's worth for admission and food for 2017 visits and it's only March! Probably gonna head down next weekend and check up on Sol Spin and Soak City construction.
  23. "Chained to the Rhythm" by Katy Perry The song is alright, but I mainly like looking at the cool effects in the video when it was filmed at SFMM.
  24. A couple hours ago, vegging in front of the TV... When was the last time you rode an Intamin Accelerator coaster?
  25. Great news! Would love to see Six Flags roll these out to their other SLCs if all goes well.
