  1. ^I would love to see them transform that small turn before the station into a separate unload platform. That would do wonders for capacity, and riders wouldn't have to sit in the heat for 2-3 minutes before the next train dispatches. Although, they would have to run two trains for it to work efficiently. But they've been running both trains consistently since November, so maybe they're turning over a new leaf. I believe Xcelerator is the ONLY Intamin Accelerator that runs two trains that launches directly out of the station without having a separate unload platform.
  2. Please do this. I second this but ask that you also wear an Intamin hat and carry a Vekoma binder to really f*ck with people.
  3. I know there is zero solid evidence that the new ride is a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster, but I am 100% down for anything similar to Monster. That would be a fantastic addition. I would hope they do something about the capacity, though.
  4. I'm planning on heading to the park for the first time on Saturday the 8th (weekend after 4th of July). Are crowds manageable on Saturdays? We will not be buying Fast Lane.
  5. Goofy Sky School at Disney California Adventure was my last new credit. However, in just a few weeks I will be heading to California's Great America for the first time, and a few weeks after that, I'm on my way to Carowinds and Kings Dominion, also for the first time! July is going to be awesome.
  6. Great news. I absolutely love this park, so it's exciting to see a big expansion possibly coming. Please be more Intamin!
  7. Wow! That looks amazing! Can the world please have more Fun Spots?
  8. 1. Castle Park (Riverside, CA) - 35 miles 2. Legoland California - 49 miles 3. Disneyland - 55 miles I actually consider Knott's my home park since it is where I visit the most often, but it didn't make it in this list since Disneyland is just a few miles closer to me.
  9. What a beautiful coaster! This looks like a win for Fun Spot. Can't wait to see a POV.
  10. Great news! There is no way I'm making it to Sweden any time soon, but it's great to hear that an RMC masterpiece may finally be able to operate again.
  11. Like most enthusiasts, I enjoy most large thrilling flats (MaXair, Skyhawk, Windseeker, Power Tower, etc.), so that combined with the wonderful array of coasters at the park, I tend to ignore most of the smaller flats/attractions. I'll be visiting the park for my third time this August, so maybe I'll take some time to check them out since I've already ridden most of the coasters there.
  12. Nice little report. It's a shame to hear about 10-minute dispatches. I would expect something like that from Six Flags (who has consistently proven themselves), but when this was announced, I was hoping SeaWorld would have a different take on it that would allow better operations. I guess not, for now. Of course, they could improve as employees and operators get used to the cycle.
  13. I can't even see what you're talking about, but if we're going to analyze every single little step of this construction process, oh boy... I would take everything they do right now with a grain of salt until they announce what they're building and we can start putting two and two together during the construction process.
  14. Oh, I forgot to add that I will also be visiting CGA for the first time, so add Patriot and Flight Deck to that list. So, by the end of the summer, I will jump from 18 to 26.
  15. I know they get looked over, but those signs are there for a reason!
  16. That's very interesting about Superman. I noticed last summer that it had a "warm up" time. I rode it first thing in the morning, and I was fairly underwhelmed because it was pretty sluggish, but as the day went on, it got MUCH faster. That's good to hear it is running like that. If it weren't for those ridiculous trains/restraints, it would be one of my favorite coasters. The lap bars are some of the most uncomfortable I've ever ridden (and yes, I have no problem with those on Skyrush).
  17. I know this is off topic, but you are wrong. Knott's does not offer passes that last 12 months. Their passes go until December 31st, which is why it makes the most sense to purchase them at the start of the year. They do have a season pass season... it just lasts from January to December! Back on topic, this is looking CRAZY! If it turns out anything like Helix, SDC really has a winner. The US really needs more good Mack coasters! I lowkey hope this isn't a spinning coaster... a good 'ol terrain coaster with beautiful Mack trains is all it takes to win me over.
  18. I am reluctant to think that the park would add something like Lightning Run if they are planning to get a 230+ foot hyper a few years down the road. Maybe this is the "completely new type of coaster" and Knott's could be getting an Intamin/renewed manufacturer (Mack)? So much to think about. I can't wait until Cedar Fair's 2018 announcements.
  19. I remember really enjoying Diamondback, especially in the back row (so much freedom!). But I last rode it 3 years ago and have since ridden MANY new hyper coasters, so I'm interested to see if my opinion of it has changed when I finally go back to KI this August.
  20. I got stuck on Sol Spin today. It was only for about 15-20 minutes, but that felt like an eternity when stuck at a 30-degree angle. We eventually got off, they tested a couple cycles, and it opened back up. I just thought that was something worth mentioning. It generally seems to be running quite reliably though. Hopefully Mondial can come in and extend the ride cycle a little.
  21. I'm such a moron. I went out to eat yesterday, and I had my retainers wrapped in a napkin (BIG MISTAKE), and I didn't realize I left them at the restaurant until I was almost home. I had to go back, look through their trash cans and their dumpster (can check dumpster-diving off my bucket list), and couldn't find them. So now I get to pay a few hundred dollars to replace them, right when I'm trying to save up for college. It was my own stupid mistake, so I guess I'm ranting at myself. UGH.
  22. Definitely Knott's Berry Farm, surprise surprise. I'm hoping to do a full day at Soak City ones temps get in the 90s.
  23. Wait. The Batmans have earned a reputation that they are bad rides? News to me. They could clone that ride a thousand more times, it still won't make it any less of the most impressive compact inverted design of all time. I heard it as soon as I said it. "Bad" probably isn't the proper word. More like "overlooked" or "underrated" or "brushed over." Probably should have been more clear on that.
  24. Must I say, that first drop looks bonkers amazing. Maybe it's the angle, but WOW, that is a sharp angle of descent. This ride really looks like the underdog in the array of 2017 coasters.
