  1. Silver Bullet at KBF has tons and tons of switchbacks that are almost never used. The only time it would ever fill up would be Saturday on a holiday weekend with one train running. As long as two trains are running, I've never seen more than 4 rows of the first section of switchbacks filled.
  2. S&S. I like how when the drop begins, you get thrown up into your harness (-1g), then you float down. When I went on Lex Luthor, I didn't really feel anything on the drop other than speed. So for now, I vote S&S. But I will be riding Drop Tower at Kings Island in a couple weeks, so that may change.
  3. ^FastLane is a wristband, not an electronic device like at Six Flags. There is only one type (KBF didn't get FastLane Plus like the bigger CF parks did), and the price varies depending on how many you buy. If you buy 3 or less (your scenario), they are $55 each. If you buy 4 or more, they are $45 each. The rides you can use it on are: 1. Bigfoot Rapids 2. Boomerang 3. Coast Rider 4. GhostRider 5. Jaguar 6. Montezooma's Revenge 7. Pony Express 8. Sierra Sidewinder 9. Silver Bullet 10. Supreme Scream 11. Timber Mountain Log Ride I highly recommend getting FastLane. I've gotten it several times, and it allows you to ride so much more. The only downside is that it doesn't include Xcelerator, so make sure you hit that ride as early as you can, because the line doesn't fill up until mid-day. Hope this helps! EDIT: I just re-checked the website, and apparently the pricing varies a little depending on what day you visit. I would expect to pay about $40 each, but it could be as low as $35 and as high as $55 depending on the day. Sorry for the confusion.
  4. I have only ridden 4 of the 8 types so far. Here is the list in descending order of favoritism. 1. Flying 2. Inverted 3. Floorless 4. Stand-up However, I will ride my first Wing (GateKeeper) and Hyper (Diamondback) in a couple weeks, so I will likely come back and edit my list once I've ridden them.
  5. ^It doesn't bother me that Ouimet is a little more "hidden" than Kinzel. Ouimet is doing wonders for the Cedar Fair chain, so I'm happy!
  6. Knott's on July 14 Kings Island on July 16-17 Cedar Point on July 21-23
  7. Looks like tons of fun. Maybe I'll fork out the $25 to get a spin on my first sling shot when I visit in a few weeks. Does anyone know how tall this one is? It looks pretty high up there.
  8. This, this, and more this. I'm going to be at Kings Island in a little over two weeks, and I have no idea what to expect from Diamondback because of the differing reviews and opinions. I'll just have to wait and see.
  9. Interesting idea. The layout wouldn't have to change much, other than the support structure and some heartlining. If this were to ever happen, I could definitely see the new lap bar restraints coming to the inverted coasters. Anyway, the park looks great. It makes me jealous to see all the brand new, ground-up theme parks being built in China and Europe. What is the most recent, all-new theme park to be built in the USA?
  10. Turns out my family and I won't be visiting Kentucky Kingdom on our Midwest trip this Summer. Bummer. Maybe I'll be able to visit via a TPR tour a few years from now, with T3 and Twisted Twins re-done/re-opened.
  11. The Flight of Fears at KI and KD use 5-car trains, while the rest of the Premier spaghetti bowl coasters use 6 car trains.
  12. I agree with this - if Dorney would be sending empty trains all the time or waiting ungodly amounts of time for more people before dispatching a train, I would say that they're in trouble. But every train I saw during my visit was filled to at least almost full capacity, which means that the coasters were getting plenty of riders regardless of the apparent length of the queue. That's how I feel about the Calico Mine Ride at Knott's. It's one of the most popular rides in the park, but it almost never has a line because it's a capacity beast.
  13. Intamin has never built a mega coaster with a MCBR. On the other hand, the only B&M Hyper coasters without a MCBR are Leviathan, Goliath (La Ronde), and Goliath (SFOG).
  14. I'll be visiting Cedar Point on July 21, 22, and 23 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). Anyone have a wild guess for the crowds? How are Mondays? And we'll be getting FastLane Plus one of the days, normal FastLane the other day, and the last day we're going as "peasants".
  15. I'll be visiting Kings Island July 16 (Wednesday) and July 17 (Thursday). Does anyone have an idea for crowds on a weekday in July? We're getting FastLane Plus for one of the two days.
  16. Great photos! I'll be visiting Cedar Point and Kings Island in about 3 weeks. Your photos are getting me more and more excited for my trip!
  17. Yay, so Sierra Sidewinder won't be the only Mack spinner in the USA anymore! Looks like a perfect addition to this park.
  18. ^I sure hope it's being re-painted! After all, the GM said "we are turning our focus back to the Boardwalk". I know this refers to the KotD building, but that doesn't mean they can't freshen up Xcelerator too.
  19. ^I think Dorney could just use any GCI in general. Something along the lines of Gold Striker would be great. Their only woodie currently is Thunderhawk.
  20. I hope you take this as constructive criticism rather than hate, but this is not a good recreation. Here are my thoughts. 1. Your top hat has a radius that is much too wide. What's up with the straight section at the top? 2. The custom supports are inaccurate and unrealistic. 3. The barrel roll/snake dive area is a mess. Your barrel roll flipped the wrong way, causing the snake dive to flip the wrong way, resulting in that low-to-the-ground curve to bring the train back in the right direction. Had you just made the barrel roll flip the correct way, your snake dive would go the correct direction, and there would be no need for that turn, which isn't on the real ride anyway. 4. Your upward s-turn is also incorrect compared to the real ride. 5. And you know that you can put downhill brakes (when going diagonal) on the Hershey Stormrunner track, right? There was really no need for you to put those weird drops and lateral turns after the s-curve. Those were the big ones I noticed. Again, I hope you understand that this is criticism, and I'm not trying to make you feel bad or post a negative comment in any way. I can tell that you put a lot of time into this, and I definitely appreciate that. But I feel you could have saved a lot more time had you done a few things correctly the first time.
  21. I don't know if rides being relocated count, but Pandemonium operated at SFDK for only 4 seasons, and Windseeker at Knott's operated for about 1 season and stood SBNO for another season.
  22. GhostRider--Knott's Berry Farm
  23. Lake Monster Piraten or Balder?
