  1. I love the photos from your Cedar Point visit! Makes me long to get back as soon as they're open again.
  2. The ride has more similarities to Phantom's Revenge than the Hyper-Lites, which explains the use of track and trains that Phantom's Revenge uses. But PR's trains still have the original Arrow chassis and a good bit of Arrow track.
  3. I am very excited to see the hyper-lite come to fruition (also I love the addition of a Larson drop-tower!) I noticed the on track on LR is different than in the early hyper-lite demo. Also, the trains appear more like the ones B&M made for Steel Dragon 2000 though with the bogies/guide-wheels running on the inside of the older-style morgan track. I wonder if that's relevant or if the demo is off. Can't wait either way!
  4. Actually, I'd love to see what a 2nd gen Flying Dutchman would look like and think one of these could possibly be a good fit for KK. I actually like the old ones and Firehawk, when I rode it as X-Flight the opening summer, was operating 3 trains as designed. I have confidence that a new Vekoma flyer would be pretty good.
  5. I thought the video was great and would enjoy seeing more. cheers!
  6. Amazing, next maneuver coming up!! kings island webcam # 4 11/1/13 6:43pm est
  7. This is great, I love this coaster and I'm glad to see it sticking around and getting some much needed love!
  8. For me, the toilet paper at Cedar Fair parks... It's like 1/4 ply.
  9. This is going to be a real beauty! Also the reason I didn't hesitate to renew my platinum pass...
  10. Yeah, I took my first spin on ye old Texas Twister at Geauga Lake when I was 12 I think. That bastard hurt my balls back then on a generally benign program. I'd be a goner if I was on this "cycle", at the least in a state of shock. yikes!
  11. nomnomnomnomnom sorry about that. Great photos!
  12. I'm quite happy to see this park coming back to life. I regret not visiting it before it closed as I'd been to the Annual Lebowski Fest in Louisville and was literally across the street from it (gosh fudging darnit)but didn't have time (or enough white russians) to visit. The view of Greased Lightning from the parking lot and lawn of the bowling alley was great though and the accompanying screams added to the atmosphere most positively. Whatever they decide to put in that corner should have a spike of some sort...
  13. Wow, that would be an amazing revival. I have to imagine 15 of the thirty mil, if not significantly more would go to the support structure (pier?). There would be lots of complex permitting necessary and the structure will have to be very strong. Involving the Army Corps and that sort of process will necessitate an expensive consultant. Hope to see it come alive though!
  14. I was just looking at their webcam (no crane in the way right now lol). Looks hot to me...
  15. Amazing pics as always! I realized just now when looking at your recent photos, I was totally in withdrawal!
  16. Thanks very much for sharing all the pics, also great commentary. If I can't travel there by plane, laptop will do!
  17. Cedar Point, Kings Island, Waldameer Park. I was hoping to make it to Kennywood and Conneaut Lake Park but chances are not looking good.
  18. Wow, they are really busting ass getting this up! I suppose testing before the winter is theoretically possible (maybe). Looks cool and I am definitely renewing my platinum pass.
  19. My vote is for the trailer park, high-rises, and subsidized housing Euclid Beach Park was replaced with On a serious note, I'd actually like to vote for Congo Falls at Kings Island. Making it a much larger ride with multiple drops and a themed river-cruise section to the right of Adventure Express would have been sweet. The theme could have been coordinated with Adventure Express and that terrain and the trees could've made something epic (and very expensive). It does not fit where it is now and it's too much of a one-trick pony, It's not enough getting soaked and the one fun pop of airtime on the only drop to compensate.
  20. Thanks for the trip report! You've taken some GREAT photos, no really... One nitpick though, that picture of Corkscrew with no one in the front row is painful. That fucking airtime before the vertical loop makes that ride much better (or at least worth a re-ride).
  21. Having only ridden 5 of them, my opinion is crap but....I really liked Invertigo (KI), find Firehawk thrilling, and F'ing hated Serial Thriller at Geauga Lake (later SFWOA). Boomerangs are cool with me too (at least Mind Eraser was, again at GL). I think the bad rap maybe has a bit to do with the ubiquity and roughness of SLCs, however, it is an extremely successful design. I would really like to try one of their mine trains!
  22. Wow, there's a lot of good things happening right now, not so easy to choose. I'd say Goliath, Zumanjaro, and Banshee are tops for me (in that order).
