  1. I am 100% getting my ass to cedar point next year. if I can swing it, i'd really like to get to kings island, especially if vortex's future is uncertain. I've sadly not made it to KI before (horribly embarrassing as a longtime Ohio resident).
  2. very cool, thanks for posting these! I think my favorite pic you posted so far was that first PTC car. lurve...
  3. I can't say how much I've enjoyed reading & watching this coverage! I'm totally living vicariously, enjoying every second of this (and you guys are so professional, not that I should be surprised, there's no half-assing hardcore).
  4. Gatekeeper, but if I had the means I'd have a hard time between that and Outlaw Run. The funds clearly tell me to look nearby
  5. My only boomerang was the mind eraser now carolina cobra back when it was at Geauga Lake. I'd always wanted to ride a boomerang to tell you the truth and I was definitely surprised with its intensity. I would pass on the cobra roll though, I'd rather a boomerang with a double loop... I'd be interested in riding one with the new trains though.
  6. thanks for posting those, really great pics. My last trip there was the first year was when it was newly worlds of adventure. I really hated to lose the park because of all my childhood memories of the place.
  7. I've not been to KI and I'd be sorely disappointed if I never got to ride Vortex. Last time I was anywhere near a Arrow mega looper it was SFMM's Viper it's opening season and I was too short to ride...
  8. thanks for that, I definitely will have to check those out!
  9. & I'm just fishing to see if any of you ever were able to ride the coasters there. I live practically next door to where it used to be and I get pissed when I see that there were at least 3 great roller coasters once resided nearby. I wish very badly that they could still be here (Flying Turns, Derby Racer, Thriller). Anyways, I'd really love the insight from someone who may have rode one of these.
  10. My choice is Possessed (when it was at Geauga Lake), because it popped my launch cherry. Full disclosure, I am sorely lacking as far as having very few launched coasters under my belt. I'm not a fan of heights and I definitely had second thoughts about being in the last row in the seconds before the launch, and for good reason apparently. While not comfortable or pleasant in the slightest way, the lurching brake before Possessed's final descent scared the shit outta me. My only other launch was TTD it's opening season. I honestly felt the 2 hour wait was well worth it, but I found the only thrilling parts to be the initial massive acceleration and the anxiety-ridden wait beforehand.
  11. All of the southern shore of Lake Erie appears to be under a flood warning, and there's 10+ ft. waves on this part of the lake now and they're expected to get bigger (on top of the 3 feet the lake was predicated to rise down here). With the wind and all this, I wouldn't be surprised if the point has a bit of damage.
  12. My first was Raptor at Cedar Point in 1994. I remember thinking, how can this possibly be safe? Interestingly, CP had stationed an engineer (theirs?) by the test seats to questioning people like me. I was sold when he told me that the restraints weren't necessary and were just a precaution, that the g forces would keep you in the seat. He also said it was far safer than riding a bike statistically. It's still a great ride....
  13. heck yeah I sent an email. This would be an awesome time... I sent them my Achiever pic...
  14. i'm going to miss that bucket of bolts just a bit, but the entrance already looks sooo much better.
