I'm registered to go to Cedar Point's media day for Pipe Scream and Lake Erie Eagles. Then I'm going to be back for opening day for which me my friend and I have already purchased our Fast Lane + (for a lot of dough, ouch). Looking forward to it though. IF the weather holds up, I'm likely to have walk on waits for Maverick (and others) after sundown. whee!!!

It's a tough call for me. As much as I really want to get some hot RMC action, I305, SkyRysh, and El Toro; I want to get my ass down to FL and ride Kumba.

Speaking of soreness, I definitely am feeling it in my arms from trying to keep my hands up on Banshee! Looking forward to some more work outs today. Should be interesting attempting to drive home tomorrow.

Frankly, I felt a lot more vibration on diamondback last year (I reserve jack-hammering for an adjective for a rough woody) and it was hardly rough. I have to respectfully disagree.

I have to say, while not the best, the Bat makes great use of the terrain. The bottom of the first drop is in the middle of a nice S shape. Really a good, if short, ride. The new paint job well look awesome (even better) when the foliage fills out.

Cool, looking more closely at that pic, I wonder if those little shafts have a bearing in them and they actually spin (the part that looks like a socket ranch stays static). A spinning electronic motor creates a magnetic field right (?) and that round shape makes me think smaller electric motor, like a mini dynamo. Interesting either way! I did not notice the trim at all but Banshee hauls ass regardless.

I'm no physicist, and my understanding of magnetic brakes is poor, but my understanding is that, depending on the type, running a specific current through them creates the repulsing effect (otherwise they are neutral, or whatever the term is). Ok I love this thing! Way more intense than I was expecting! Every time I was near the ground I felt like a pancake... Very very fun!

With plenty of time to go until opening day, the Gemini Midway is looking great! Just ditching the blacktop alone helped a ton but there will be a lot to look at and Monster's new paint job really POPs so far. Looking forward to seeing it in person and getting some lake erie eagle action and doing some pipe-screaming soon.

It does have the trick-track too, interesting!

So who's excited for media day? I received the email update from Don Helbig, he listed the schedule for the whole day and last minute stuff about parking. I'm quite excited and am going to stay overnight then get my season pass processed the next morning. It'll be my first KI opening day. I'm not sure if I'll have the dough for FLP but F it. I'll be there.
