  1. My vote goes to X-Flight at Geauga Lake/SWOA, listening to "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi on repeat would probably have given me an aneurysm if I had to listen to it all day.
  2. They're both going to look great!! Yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and hibernate until open day. I'm sure work won't mind.
  3. Wow, that's a very cool rendering. Adding a mega bucks kickass B&M Flyer to KK following Storm Chaser would indeed be bold, dueling or not.
  4. I'd like to think I have many years of happy riding ahead of me, but perhaps I should reduce my arrow coaster consumption a bit. I definitely f'd my lower back up for a while after my last ride on the Corkscrew @ CP. I know, I know, I should know better, but it's an old love of mine!
  5. I don't have one and it will probably be a few years before I get one (not a high priority to me).
  6. I love that Raptor and Dragster are getting some new paint (LOL re: Tony's joke w/switching the colors). It's going to look great with Valravn in the mix.
  7. Not including the Big Thunder Mountains in CA or FL, I've ridden 4 Vekomas (the BTMs being at disney parks and were quite enjoyable but I don't know how vekomaish they really are are so I'm leaving them out). To my knowledge, I've ridden the relocated/renamed Mind Eraser, Serial Thriller, and X-Flight at Geauga Lake/SWOA), and Invertigo at Kings Island. The only one I did not have a good time on was the SLC. I was a youngin and had only ridden one other inverted coaster when I went on Serial Thriller under the tragically wrong impression that it was of a similar build to CP's Raptor. I rode Raptor in 1994 and looked like an asshole for telling my friend the SLC was going to be so fun ("oh no, these are really smooth!"). I actually very much enjoyed the boomerang and thought it was surprisingly fun & intense for its size, and my first round on X-FLight now Firehawk scared the sh*t outta me. Nowadays, I think that Firehawk edges out Invertigo just slightly because I tend to have a bias for a complete-circuit coaster vs. a shuttle, and the sensations on the vertical loop are awesome. I think they're both worth riding multiple times, and exhilarating. I do think that the fucking anti-rollbacks on Firehawk are absurdly loud though, probably would have given me a migraine when I was younger.
  8. Looks like a great media event for a future hit for the park. I think it's awesome people can approach the actual (Ohio-made) and beautiful two-tone track. Really gives you a sense of the size and it will be visually stunning with the blue supports. Thanks for posting!
  9. Great TR! I will get to these parks one day! By the way, I believe RITA is the backwards acronym for Alton Towers Intamin Rollercoaster. Cheers!
  10. That's a cool article. Looking forward to riding this puppy next year when I'm down in Louisville for the Annual Lebowskifest. May very well be my first RMC. Wheee!!!
  11. I've now been able to ride two of these wonderful towers, I found Fear Fall at Kentucky Kingdom just as good as Waldameer's except for the view (that view, at Waldameer facing the lake, is absolutely beautiful). I would love to see more of these (even at bigger parks that already have larger drop rides)! I'd be completely ok with even a Larson 90', say in Frontiertown at Cedar Point. It would be cool to pop out of the foliage before dropping. I would be sure to ride it every time I visited.
  12. I'm from Cleveland but spent every summer at my folk's summer cottage on Prendergast Point (right across from Midway). It was always a big day I looked forward too in the summer getting to ride and play. Nowadays, I normally only get up to the lake for a week in July but it was great to initiate my niece into the tradition of Midway.
  13. Ahhh, I love this TR! I grew up going here, my first ever amusement park, and first roller coaster. My most obscure credit. I've actually been meaning to make a TR from a trip there earlier this summer with my family and niece and hadn't gotten around to putting it together. Thanks for posting! BTW, you'll be happy to know that they still have the Dodgems. They were a hit with the niece as was the fresh popcorn. I kicked her ass at air hockey though and she wasn't too pleased about that. The swings were already gone if I recall as far back as I can remember, but I dearly miss the paratrooper. That roller coaster, is absolutely brutal. Do not recommend except for the whoriest of whores. They had a powered dragon that was new when I was maybe 7 or 8 but that's gone as well. The big slide was indeed great. Love...
  14. I was at Lebowski Fest this year (my 4th) and it was obvious that Will wasn't doing well. I wish him the best, hope that he'll regroup, I wish him the best of luck with Funtown Mountain, and look forward to many more Lebowski Fests in the future.
  15. Nice to see upgraded webcams, but damn, what is up with diamondback? I watched for 5 minutes and that's how long it's taking to dispatch one train. On my last visit, they were cranking them out, even with the seat-belts.
  16. "1. We will relocate Fury 325 and the Intimidator roller coasters from Carowinds amusement park in Charlotte to Kings Dominion and sell the remainder of that park, as well as Worlds of Fun, Dorney Park, Michigan's Adventure, and California's Great America to Six Flags Entertainment Corporation to finance the new additions." "complete-stop MCBR and open-concept restroom area high above Williamsburg so that riders can literally sh!t on Busch Gardens Williamsburg." "because **** Verbolten" Bwahahahaha!
  17. I really love the new Enterprise. Gondolas and the open seats in a combo would be really cool looking too, not to mention getting to experience both rides.
  18. Great trip report, thanks! I really like all the shaded areas and the native plants/trees. Time for some big parks to make some native plant shade gardens .
  19. Pack a cooler/picnic! If you're like me and you may or may not enjoy a few beers with your amusement park experience and prefer not to spend too much $, this is an excellent choice. As long as you pack it right, even a hot car is no match for your cooler. I can neither confirm nor deny drinking beers/eating sandwiches & potato salad in the parking lot.
  20. Ouch, this dude found out what happens when you get your leg caught in an air gate. I wonder how this happened (too many beers)? What would possess someone to try and squeeze through a gate? http://www.wkyc.com/story/news/local/northeast-ohio/2015/06/22/cedar-point-raptor-guest-injured-squeezing-through-closing-gate/29116863/
  21. It seems most of the servicing/refurb PTC does takes place in the off-season. Check out their website and you can see what projects they were working on. They usually include pics so that's pretty cool.
  22. Had a good day at the park yesterday. I arrived just before the rain but once that was all done with, many people had left the park and lines were short and it turned out to be a great day. I can also confirm that the new restraints on Maverick are much better. I didn't have a problem with them before but now I can keep my hands up the entire ride without bruising. Took another lap of Rougarou and I do like this ride though I still got my head bounced off the restraint pretty solidly on the turn-around after the dive loop. Leaning into the other turns avoided further head-banging. I was happy to see Skyhawk running both sides as it's just a favorite of mine and it was only running one side on my last visit.
