  1. I agree with those who feel there's not really a market for these anymore. I am, however, looking for some manufacturer to do a suspended stand up coaster some day. C'mon, I've been waiting since the late 80s!
  2. I am loving how the first drop is shaping up. Very happy this thing isn't that far away!
  3. Anyone else notice that a piece of the outside track of The Bat has been removed? Noticed it this afternoon and haven't seen much action on the cam since. Maintenance is good!
  4. The trains look awesome! Reminds me of vintage Monster colors and I dig it. It's going to look great when it opens.
  5. Awesome TR, thanks for posting. I swear that in the 3rd of your pics of SpinHog it looks like there's a body hanging on by one arm to the bottom of the car.
  6. I suppose it would have to be Raging Wolf Bobs for me. A lot of early coaster memories on that one.
  7. Has anyone else signed up to camp out? I figure why the hell not, I need more camping and ERT in my life.
  8. My milestone was finally riding the Beast. Really, I remember looking up roller coasters as a kid on proquest at the library and I've been wanting to ride it since. Just never made it to KI until last summer. I topped off with the visit with the last ride of the night right after some decent fireworks. I believe it was #39. Looking forward to getting back there in a few months!
  9. Love the new colors, it fits in with Gemini's station nearby!
  10. Awesome trip report(s). Also, I'd love to see more pool on midways!!
  11. I do miss Demon Drop at Cedar Point (and hope to ride it again at Dorney some day). If I recall, it used to count down from 10, and go on 3... For a kid that was afraid of heights, it was a good compromise with being tall but enclosed enough that I wasn't panicking.
  12. 1) Cedar Point - 90 mins 2) Waldameer Park - 90 mins 3) Conneaut Lake Park - 90 mins
  13. 1) Maverick at dusk 2) Beast at night (I'd been wanting to ride it since I was wee bairn, a bucket list item of mine) 3) Untrimmed Magnum
  14. I think it's great that the fastest part of the ride will be at the bottom of that bat wing. That close to the terrain, the speed will feel intense (me thinks).
  15. ^^^ yes things are happening! I can see that more track & supports have moved from the staging area, mmmm.....
  16. More track and supports are going up! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/online-fun/webcams
  17. That is true, but I'm pretty sure I prefer the trims before the helixes to be on, always. it's a bit brutal as it is.
  18. The signs are, if I remember correctly, mounted on a structural pillar to the right and left of the ride operators who are seated on the little raised platforms just to the left/right of the front cars. I was looking for a pic earlier and really wished I'd taken my own when I've been there
  19. Maybe not that weird but it's one of my favorite coaster quirks: Gemini at Cedar Point has small, old-looking light up signs to indicate whether or not the trims are on. Edit: They say, and light up, "Trims Brakes Off" just remembered that.
  20. That photo that so clearly indicates the terrain is fantastic. It immediately made me feel like I'd be plastered to my seat down there. I certainly hope for some feet-tingling by the end of the ride.
