  1. First thing I thought of when I saw Holiday Park's new area was that SFGAm should have something like this.
  2. That's a pretty good idea for Memphis. I've long wondered why they haven't done more with Mud Island.
  3. Oh cool, I did not know about Jungle Jim's, but adding it to my next Ohio itinerary. Thanks; it looks fun.
  4. Ok cool. Saturday has extended hours too, so if you can get there right at 11 and get yourself a Trailblazer Pass, that'll be the way to go. Crowds will be HUGE with weather that good on a weekend. Seriously, we get more people during Christmas than we do in the summer.
  5. Agreed on Q39. I've only had KC Bier's pilsner but it was good. Will have to check out those others too, thanks.
  6. My advice would be to have an open mind about this park. It's more like Knott's or Disneyland than it is like Six Flags. The two best things here are the cave tour and cinnamon bread. If you just ride coasters, you're missing the point. That said, if you do come, look for a day with a high temperature. They start closing rides at 44°F, so if the high is around there, hold off. Weather is weird here and we can have a high in the 30s one day and in the 60s the next.
  7. Probably Boulevard on Southwest Blvd. They were one of the early players in craft brewing, got started in the 80s. Their big deal is the Unfiltered Wheat. Very good stuff. I also recommend the Single Wide IPA and the Jam Band Berry Ale.
  8. Yeah go front row for Prowler. Like a lot of older GCIs, it gets rougher the farther back you are. As for food, we really only eat at the Chickie's and Pete's there, but since you've got one close to you, sounds like a good plan to eat in town before you go.
  9. Yeah seriously. This is a Six Flags park. You get awesome rides, games attendants with bullhorns turned up way too loud, a waterpark that's at capacity every day, and stupidly long lines for mediocre food. Just understand that, and go and have a Six Flags day.
  10. Great photos of Flitzer. I really didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Morey's won't be the same without it.
  11. Oh come on now, don't be ridiculous. Other than the water slide debacle, what seriously was any different this year from any other year? I dare say if you expected more than what they delivered this year, you forgot which park you were in. It's been fine. Some stuff has even improved, like they've had more than one beer man open on Saturdays.
  12. Hahaha, you guys do theme parks right. For some reason my wife also enjoys burnt marshmallows. It's weird.
  13. I am always up for a Portillo's run.
  14. Yeah, at this point I expect SFStL to get their 10th coaster when SDC announces their 9th just to keep the title of "Missouri's Coaster Capital". I expect WoF not to care at all.
  15. I find myself wanting to go back to the good parks again and again. I don't need a new "credit" to justify going back to a park I love. Holiday World had zero new "credits" when I revisited last year and we had a blast. Novelty is overrated. There are a lot of places that will show you a good time if you go in with the right attitude.
  16. Just discovered this gem today. "Lake" by the Japanese band Newspeak. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  17. ^ Oh yeah. When I was there in '16, I think the day before you were, they were racing Matterhorn, holding it until both sides were ready so they would go together. It was fantastic, and worth an immediate re-ride (Matterhorn and Tower of Terror were the only ones I rode more than once).
  18. ^ Going to Dorney and Hershey but not Knoebels?
  19. Well, good to know they have all $840 they need in order to build this.
  20. Yay for Platinum Pass, nothing like just going up to a ride whenever you feel like it. Boo for technical problems though. Another reason why Fast Lane is better, just show your wristband and go. I appreciate your thoughts on Superman, maybe I'll like that one better than the other two. Monster Mansion looks like something right up my alley. I loved Wildwood's WTF tram car acid trip ride, and this cannot possibly be weirder than that, but please let it be even weirder. We've recently seen Sweetwater up here, and their 420 is a really good one.
  21. Six Flags Black Friday sale is pretty good. If like me you still had the old Gold membership, upgrade to Platinum during this sale. For me, it's $6.20/mo. per membership for 5 memberships to Six Flags St. Louis, less than I was paying for Gold. https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/store/cyber-sale
  22. Glad you liked it! I loved Avatar, despite the spinning. It was just below the threshold of too much spinning and just above the threshold of too much fun.
