  1. That's great to see. With all the effort over the last few years that has been put into having a cohesive theme for this park, they're wise to sit back and reap the benefits of it and not try to change too much.
  2. I could argue against that, but you know what, I'll just let this headline do it for me. let's go, let's have a laugh with your theories I didn't state any theories. I gave a link to an actual earnings report that is federally mandated to be accurate and subject to FTC fines if it's not. That report says they're making money. So either they're lying to investors and incurring huge financial penalties for doing so, or they're actually making money. Probability is they're actually making money, which means their business model works. You don't improve a dividend for eight straight years with a business model that doesn't work.
  3. Excellent report! Sorry to hear of your wife's health problems, but SDC guest services is fantastic, and your experience is absolutely normal. Looks like you got all the relevant food credits. The pretzel brat is underrated, imo. Cave tour, check. Cinnamon bread, check. You did it right.

  5. Yes, with Fast Lane Plus, you can do all the coasters at least once, regardless of which day you visit. I will echo others in HIGHLY recommending more than one day, but if that's all you have, get the Fast Lane Plus and have a great day. Don't forget the train, skyride, Cedar Downs, MaxAir, and Screamin' Swing. Do not miss those flats. Everything else is just whatever you feel like doing.
  6. The small kiddie coaster was closed, but that was it. That alone was a major improvement from 2016, when several major rides were closed. Apex is doing a good job so far.
  7. Indeed. Well, this update takes far less patience, because it's already time for... Day 11: Indiana Dreamin' Just like in 2016, I finished my Cedar Point trip with a visit to Indiana Beach. That's mainly because it's only an hour detour from the most direct route back home from Sandusky, but a little bit because I missed out on two rides last time: Rocky's Rapids and Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. There's not much to the log flume, but it still does the job quite well. Log flumes are good as long as you have water in it *cough cough cough Magic Mountain cough ahem*. Phew, sorry about that coughing fit, I must be coming down with the black lung, just like the miners who work under Superstition Mountain. Yesssss! Nailed the segue! Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain is a unique ride. It's a little bit dark ride, a little bit coaster. I got to ride backwards, which is pretty trippy with all the tight turns. Really great. I took advantage of an offer only good in August that if you buy a 2019 season pass, you get to go once in 2018 for free. Bonus, the season pass is exactly the same price as a one-day ticket! So yep, I have an Indiana Beach season pass next year, and since Six Flags Great America has that new coaster next year, I think I'll drop by for a bit. Other than that, there's not much that's changed since 2016. The park looks a lot cleaner, and I just enjoyed doing all the same things as last time. Cornball Express is still an airtime buffet, Fascination is still fascinating, Steel Hawg is still twisty, the haunted house is still creepy, the pirate dark ride is still bizarre, and the skyride over the whole park is still allowing photos. Hittin' the beach! I've not been on this bridge before. Last time I parked on the north side. Finally getting to ride this! Hmm, I don't think they're now serving anything.... Finally got on the log flume too! This is Coasterbill's happy place. It is, in fact, a bar in a Skyride station. I found my beach in Indiana! See? It's a beach. A...lake... beach. Yeah. And down there is the #1 reason to come to this park. Pirates of a Small Indiana Lake. Hey, they've got a new coaster!
  8. Ah yes, I see what you mean. I have done that as well, bringing a guest with me on a voucher on opening day.
  9. Typically SDC only issues guest passes if you purchase your season pass prior to the beginning of the season. They are not an integral part of the season pass like Six Flags does.
  10. Thanks for posting that one! Mamba is a pretty special coaster for me, and my son loves it too. He's been watching your video every day since it came out.
  11. Oh wow, that's hilarious. I know nothing of motorsports but I'm guessing that's an electric race car? In which case I approve.
  12. Yeah, that's a real place. I went there when I was a kid. I remember seeing a magic show, but looking at their website, it doesn't look like they still do that. http://www.casabonitadenver.com
  13. I did. Oh yeah man, it's all documented in a 420-page technical report by Dr. Thomas K. Chong, Ph.D. of Good Times.
  14. It's definitely comining back. They're doubling down on the Gardens part with a horticulturally themed park. You'll enter in the stem, and there will be five themed leaves. Perfect way for you and your buds to spend an evening.
  15. At an “unknown” location. Doesn’t sound very promising. I don't see why you would say that. This decision came from Denver, not from Elitch Gardens. They're being forced out of their location much like the London Dungeon was a few years back.
  16. I'm thinking that's a typo but it would be hilarious if it isn't.
  17. Looking good! Still amazed at how they've managed to wedge such a big ride into that space.
  18. Yeah man, under 5 hours is considered "close" in the West. You get used to distances out here. And I would totally take Grand Teton over an SBF Spinner, especially considering we have one in Tulsa and that's 3 hours, or what we in the West call "next door."
  19. Herman's Hermits are the best Beatles cover band ever.
  20. Yeah really. I don't think I hated it as much as you, but I don't think I'd do it again either.
  21. Oh that's awesome. I hadn't thought about SLC being close to Yellowstone, but yeah, that's a good idea. Filing that away for later; I have like 5 years worth of trips planned at this point just waiting for enough vacation time to accrue.
