  1. Sleeting right now. Forecast is for "wintry mix" which is snow, sleet, and freezing rain all at the same time. Joy.
  2. Rides are not fixed costs either. Electricity, maintenance, depreciation all depend on how much they're run. Just like with your car (but substitute gas for electricity unless you're fancy).
  3. I hope this passes. The boardwalk is well cared for, but over time that understructure wears out. A lot of states are beginning to realize now after decades of adding new pavement on top of existing highways, that eventually the core crumbles and it has to be replaced entirely. Missouri's been doing that with some of our highways recently. If they do this right, it should last another hundred years. The plan they have sounds like they're doing it right.
  4. Well, it's not a ride. The USH studio tour drives past the set where Jaws was filmed.
  5. This is factually wrong. Why wouldn't you look this up before you posted? Chill dude, no need to be like that. But you're right, I did make an error, and I'll give it up to you for that. My bad. I'll admit when I'm wrong. Yeah man, I'ma be like what continent rivers are on. That's my hill to die on.
  6. So far the best albums of the year have been Watsky's "Complaint" and the Specials' "Encore." Seriously if you haven't heard either of these, drop what you're doing and go listen. Fantastic music from two seriously underappreciated artists.
  7. Nice. Allegiant flies from Springfield to Mesa for super cheap, but I've never felt a reason to go to Phoenix. Looks like a fun little park though, I may have to get out to the desert eventually.
  8. I have experienced the Great Adventure parking lot, and you do not want your solar panels anywhere near those drivers.
  9. Oh man, I'm sorry you didn't get to ride either OC log flume, they're both incredible. You'll just have to keep an eye out for those low cost flights and get back to California!
  10. I always order both of those at my local sushi place.
  11. I have the feeling that Scandia knew about this for a couple of months. The rides were originally listed up for sale on Nov. 2, 2018, and doesn't appear that anything has sold yet. Since the drop tower, Tilt-a-whirl, and carousel have not been offered for sale, I am guessing that is all that they were planning to keep those few attractions. Ah, gotcha. Well, anybody looking for a coaster at under a million....
  12. Prime example: B:TR Absolutely. We were at Magic Mountain last week and even though over the years we've probably been on the Great Adventure one almost 100 times and even though neither of us "needed the credit" there was no way in hell we were skipping it. If that ride wasn't a clone then enthusiasts would declare it one of the best rides in the park (even at Magic Mountain which is loaded with awesome coasters). I agree with both of you. Batman is one of the best rides in every Six Flags, especially if they turn on thr air conditioning in the sewer tunnel. Without AC, though, that part of the queue suuuuuucks.
  13. This is factually wrong. Why wouldn't you look this up before you posted?
  14. Oh that's cool that they're moving the rides to the Victorville property. That's only an hour away and not hard to get to for a lot of families.
  15. Glad you had a good time! And I agree on the reasonable prices at Disney. The food, merch, etc. is all around prices you'd expect to pay outside the park. The tickets are high but not overpriced; they give you your money's worth. Big Thunder Mountain is a great coaster, and I love the themed queue and the way the train goes over it. Disneyland is maybe the one place I actually want to wait in the queue; so many things to see. I don't know why anyone complains about Maxpass; it's so cheap, so easy, and it doesn't affect anyone who doesn't use it. Disney did this one perfectly.
  16. Ghostrider and Calico Mine Train are both great. I'd swap and do Wednesday at Disney and Sunday at Knott's.
  17. Most of that is good news. Bummed about Mardi Gras though, that was fun.
  18. Oh man, go karts with axes sounds like the best ride ever.
  19. I love how we're worried about this five months before it's scheduled to open.
  20. Sucks that so many things were closed. Not a complete bust though, you got Final Fantasy XR and tasty ramen!
