  1. Love them. I often sing that song to my kids when they're being impatient. They hate it. New Shovels and Rope! [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  2. It's really fun! When I think about what coaster I have had the most fun on, it's that one. So it's #1.
  3. What’s your #1? If Steel Vengeance is praised so highly by most enthusiasts (not me), but it only places at #9 for you (Something I would probably do too, if I had ridden it), what bests it for you? Some other really great rides. Honestly any of my top 25, 30 or so are all the best rides in the country, and I would ride any of them in an instant if I could. This is what I came up with for the poll: 1. Millennium Force 2. Outlaw Run 3. Phoenix 4. Skyrush 5. El Toro 6. Voyage 7. Maverick 8. Phantom's Revenge 9. Steel Vengeance 10. Diamondback
  4. They could always go the Gold Striker route and build a noise tunnel over that golf course.
  5. Well, Rick Scott is not the governor. Everything else about that is accurate.
  6. So since I was ranking for the awards recently, Steel Vengeance made its debut at #9 for me. Great ride.
  7. Sweet! Glad you're visiting the Ozarks. All Saturdays at SDC are busy, but you will be going on the Saturday of Young Christians Weekend, which has a bunch of Christian rock bands. Crowds are insane. Trailblazer Pass will be worth it. Good to hear you're prioritising the cave and cinnamon bread. Great job. Also make sure you get a skillet at some point. They're all over the park and are really SDC's signature dish. There are several varieties, and they're all good. The one downside to going that weekend is that there aren't the normal shows, as the Christian stuff takes over all the venues. Otherwise it should be a good time.
  8. I don't know, if Merlin gave me a million pounds a year I'd be likely to say they're the best.
  9. You should go to Kennywood sometime! Pittsburgh is a great city, and it's so fun getting off the multi-lane freeway and being an an amusement park right in the middle of it, with those millions of Pittsburghers around you and the skyscrapers off to your left.
  10. You got the Oprah Stare of Disapproval and then you pull that out?
  11. You do realize the answer to that is on this very page, four posts above yours, right?
  12. Lol, yep. That one does look cool too. Also no desire to ride it.
  13. Nah, all those people with fastpass will be waiting for their time in the restaurants. Let's face it, everyone who's going this year should be expecting this:
  14. ^ Seconded. I love the boasting about logical skills immediately followed by spectacular failure to use any logic at all.
  15. Oh wow, this is almost too much. Loooove the blue Bantha milk making an appearance, that was unexpected. The Black Spire Brew sounds similar in concept to the Duff beer, contract a local craft brewery to make something unique for the park. The Lightsaber shop sounds similar to the Harry Potter wand shop, very smart of them to do. Still digesting most of this (pun intended). Almost time!
  16. If you haven't heard of them already, I'd recommend two podcasts, Coaster Radio.com and The Season Pass. Both have been going for over a decade now and the full archives are free online. Coaster Radio is out of Indianapolis and Washington DC, and Season Pass is out of Sacramento, so you get reporting from a good variety of US parks (and occasionally a few outside the US). Good production values too. Should be fun for you to go back and listen to the archives.
  17. To be fair, it does sound like something out of a Harry Potter book. "Boys and girls, today we're going to meet one of the fiercest, most beautiful creatures in the world, the Intamin. Ready your wands and prepare to use the Reparo spell."
  18. Yay for air conditioning on Batman, yay for cider and lol for blaming everything including the lights on rain. Looks like a fun day with proper expectations. And yes, ffffffffff Cyborg. I wouldn't get on that once.
  19. I have to admit that coaster looks really cool on the roof of a hotel. Still wouldn't want to ride it.
  20. I've had good luck going for two days and budgeting for FastLane+ both days. If you do that, it really doesn't matter when you go, but as Coasterbill said, staffing levels are best between Memorial Day and Labour Day. With two full days and not worrying about lines, you'll easily be able to do everything you want.
  21. ^ Yes, that's generally true for opening year. One should expect 1x only on the big new ride on Platinum and no skips at any other level. Sometimes they allow 2x at Platinum, sometimes they will sell additional skips for a fee, but it's not guaranteed and can change throughout the year.
