1. Yeah around here the CP thread is really just used for complaining about Cedar Point and/or saying stupid things that get you banned. If you want to say what an awesome time you had at Cedar Point, you need a trip report thread.
2. I can agree with you on that. The vest restraints are by far my least favorite restraint. The amount of discomfort they cause greatly destroys the ride for me. Yeah, I'm 5'11" and depending on how I sit, sometimes the vest restraints dig into my collarbone a bit. If you're taller than me, I can definitely understand them being uncomfortable. I don't know if I've given an answer on this thread, because I haven't looked, but Green Lantern at SF Great Adventure is the worst I've been on.
3. Both Nagashima Spaland and Parque España look a lot of fun. Espwcially cool that Parque España has so many indoor things for you to do so you could make the most of a rainy day. And even before I read your captions I was thinking "Does that say Iron Butt?"
4. It will be either a giga along the river or else a 10% discount on chicken strips.
5. Cornball Express. Both are good though, both favourites. Just Cornball Express is my favourite favourite. If I had to go on Hoosier Hurricane, though, I'd say cool, cause that's my favourite too. Edison or Tesla?
6. Awesome photos! Glad you had fun, sounds like you got to do everything.
7. Welcome to Missouri! 1) Spinning Dragons. It's the only big coaster with a height limit under 48", so it gets a long line that moves slowly due to 4 people per car. 2) Don't prepurchase, but if it's insane crowds then yes. In the summer a lot of people go to the waterpark so you may be ok without it even on a Saturday. Forecast looks good for now, but we get a lot of thunderstorms out here that develop pretty quickly, and those days obviously are dead. But if you find yourself on a sunny day in the 80s when the entire KC metro is there, then absolutely buy it. It's extremely rare for then to sell out. 3) Chickie's and Pete's! Also Battle Creek Barbecue is pretty good for park food. There is much, much better BBQ to be had in the city, and I personally recommend Q39 at 39th & Summit: https://q39kc.com
8. Just so you're aware, they don't allow glasses even with a strap on Drop Line. Everything else the strap was cool.
9. Great! We're thinking about next weekend if the storms let up by then. My kids are pretty excited about this slide.
10. I understand that problem all too well.
11. Sounds like a lot of happiness. And probably a lot of pie.
12. I got one word for you: Knoebels.
13. NERDY BEER WEEKEND! This is "The Answer" from Main St. Brewing Co. in Belleville, Illinois (suburban St. Louis, but don't tell them that), and "Hoptronix" from New Holland Brewing in Holland, Michigan.
14. Yet, again, yippie for the years young Yankee Cannonball.
15. For sure. Literally the only time I have ever seen the word Ziz is on this thread. And I was an English major, so you know I mean it when I say literally.
16. Same to all of this. A case could be made that Final Fantasy is the cause of our marriage. It's a series we've both loved since we were kids (I started with II/IV back on the SNES). A large number of our dates consisted of one of us bringing our memory card over to the other's apartment to play FFX, which was back then the latest in the series. So yeah, my wife wants to go to Japan right now for this. The 1000 Needles churritos sealed the deal. Odd that customer service was lacking. I understand customer service in Japan usually exceeds that in the States (as evidenced by those free ponchos). Frustrating, and especially bad because of the high cost.
17. This looks amazing! And added to the list of must dos when I get to NYC.
18. I went for two days in August when it was decently busy, and I still managed to get more out of the wristband each day than I would have on individual tickets. If you're going to be there all day, I recommend the wristband.
19. The earthquake story is amazing. I'm not sure how big 5.9 is--we do have earthquakes in Missouri but I've never experienced one bigger than 3.0. 5.9 sounds like a big deal. To have them just shake it off and get things running so quickly is astonishing.
20. Fun day! Cool to see the new stuff at Six Flags and Sesame Place, and that Dorney hasn't changed a bit.
21. Oh yes! One of the most difficult things about my trip last year was getting a hotel near Great Adventure, and I ended up choosing a shithole motel with decent reviews just because it was close. At least it was cheap. A Hilton Garden near the park would be an automatic when we go back. Because we're definitely going back here at some point.
