  1. Cool, yeah I'll just get the wristband then. Four good rides is worth a Hamilton.
  2. Awesome! Glad you got to do all that. Haven't been this year yet myself, but typically it's really good in the spring and by fall it does get rough. It's usually not too bad this time of year, but maybe they didn't wuite do as much due to finishing Timber Wolf.
  3. Nearly every ride is better at night, so I'll propose Legend as one that is better during the day. My first ride on it was at night, and it threw me around since I had no idea which way the track was going. I went back the next day and once I could see, I liked it. Makes a big difference knowing where it's going and being able to lean into the turns.
  4. This is great--thanks for highlighting it! The park is definitely on my list for my next Branson visit. Someone kindly save me the searching--were there originally whisperings that this park would/might be temporary? I hope it sticks around. You remember correctly. They've advertised it as this summer only, but they've also dropped hints that if they make enough money on it, they'll come back next year. Edgeboy, glad to hear it's open and that it's a good experience. I'll have to get down there soon to check it out for myself.
  5. It's a crap list of the top ten parks, but good publicity for SDC! https://amp.news-leader.com/amp/715901002
  6. St. Louis is a decent sized city really, about 2 million. The problem is that no one takes a vacation to St. Louis. Branson is really the only vacation destination in the state. St. Louis has plenty of things that are legitimately great, including City Museum, Grant's Farm, the Zoo, and SLAM, but it suffers from the same stigma as other Rust Belt cities. People just don't think of it when deciding where to spend their two weeks.
  7. Yep, agreed. As for White Water, yeah it's not a great waterpark. It was good when I was a kid but most of the parks these days offer a lot more. We took our kids for the first time last summer and they were asking to go back to Hurricane Harbor St. Louis instead.
  8. I picked the wrong time to go to Philly! Those photos are incredible; you're lucky to have a festival like this. Absolutely amazing.
  9. I'm kinda on the fence about visiting this place. Can you buy a ticket just to Blue Streak? Visiting Kennywood and Waldameer on this trip, so is there anything else really worthwhile that I can't get at one of those two parks?
  10. Boss is really good now. Still a bit rough, but I don't see it getting any smoother than it is. This is the best it's run in 18 years.
  11. Those birds! Disney thinks of everything. Glad to hear you were impressed by the safari. I thought Great Adventure's was spectacular, so that's pretty exciting. Good move picking the show based on the IP you like more. That's key with Disney. Eh, NJ's better than Boston. On the other hand, literally everyone is better than Boston.
  12. Really digging the new Florence and the Machine album. Kudos to them for a single dealing with mental illness. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  13. Hmm, not seeing any dinning options that close to the park. Currently there are only four options for dinning, and none in Chicago: https://rcdb.com/r.htm?st=93&mk=6842&ot=2

  15. OMG, I never read Youtube comments but these are great. The non-religious guy telling the Catholics that they should be more offended was hilarious. It's great they're not offended, man. When they used to get offended over stuff like this, people were burned at the stake and children walked to the Middle East to conquer fortified cities with pointy sticks. You don't want to make them mad again, guys. You really don't.
  16. There is nothing like this slide in Arlington.
  17. Yeah, I'm convinced that a lot of people are "coaster argument enthudiasts" and don't actually like riding coasters.
  18. Oh yeah, more trip report! That sounds like an AWESOME day. I love all the little things they do that make the day so pleasant. They manage to make you feel like you're their only guest and the tens of thousands of people around you are a mirage. And yeah, you need to ride Tower of Terror. It's great.
