  1. Get there at opening, this is the key. 1. Nitro- you can ride the front and back within 10-20 minutes. 2. Batman The Ride- Should be a walk on every row except front. 3. Skull Mountain- walk on. 4. Black Beards Lost Treasure Train- walk on. 5. Medusa- 10-30 minute wait. 6. El Toro. Lunch 7. Superman Ultimate Flight. 8. Great American Scream Machine. 9. Kingda Ka. After that you can just go around the park and re-ride and hit the other coasters.
  2. Definitely go the 27th! I have been to the park the last 2 years on that saturday and it is not crowded at all. Last year Kingda Ka was a 3 cycle wait, El Toro was about 15 minutes, and pretty much everything else was less than 10 minutes. The year before that it was a little more crowded but it was still awesome.
  3. I rode Fahrenheit on Tuesday July 8th, and I thought it was a great ride. Review: The lift hill has a VERY odd feeling to it. It feels like you are going to tip over backwards! The first drop has great ejector airtime all the way down in any row. The pull out has some great forces and then you catch some gentle floater air as you head into the first part of the Norwegian Loop. At the bottom of the Norwegian Loop there are very strong positive g's. As you exit the Norwegian Loop you get some strong floater airtime down the drop to the Cobra Roll. The first half of the Cobra Roll has some decent forces and a little hang time at the top. The second half of the Cobra is basically the same but in reverse direction except there is a lot of rattling/shuffling during it. The first corkscrew is super fast and has a great whip through it, it reminded me of Batman the Ride! The second corkscrew is a little slower and doesn't have much whip to it. Then comes the overbanked turn which has very strong forces, but I got a little head banging on its transitions. After the overbanked turn comes my second favorite part of the ride, the airtime hill! This little airtime hill has some very strong ejector air! The last turn on the ride is pretty strong but has a lot of head banging in it. Then the ride finishes with a little floater air time into the sloped brake run. Key points: -Fabulous first drop. -Great airtime hill. -Norwegian Loop. -First corkscrew. Downsides -Rattle during second half of the Cobra Roll. -Head banging during the last two turns. I need to ride Fahrenheit a few more times to give it a true rating, but as of right now it gets an 8/10.
  4. 1. Hydra the Revenge - Gotta love the jojo roll! 2. Nitro - In the back I always get a little bit of air. 3. Lightning Racer - Both sides have a turn and a bunny hill.
  5. Fahrenheit front row today around 4:15. It's a great ride and the general public LOVE it, but it was only a fun coaster to me. Storm Runner is far superior. I do want to ride it a few more times though before I can officially rate it. 8/10
  6. Great trip report! You have got to love how there are almost never any lines at Dorney. I really want to get out to Kennywood next summer. Any suggestions on what rides to hit, order to ride them, best seats, and average lines? I would probably go on a Sunday night in late June.
  7. They are calling it "The Boardwalk: The SEAquel" http://www.hersheypark.com/boardwalk/seaquel/index.php ^ I also agree they should have made the Boardwalk a separate park with its own gate. Everything is WAY too close together and it gets very crowded.
  8. That was an amazing trip report! There were so many photos and they were all so great! I really wanted to get out there this summer but my plans feel through. Hopefully next summer I can hit the park up. It looks like a great park with some awesome coasters, especially Phantom's Revenge
  9. If your ever dehydrated or just need something to drink ask any concession stand for a cup of water. It's free and almost every park will give you a cup of water. Great trip by the way! I was supposed to go last week but my family's money situation prevented me . Maybe next year.
  10. ^That is very disappointing to hear about Storm Runner. I hope when I get out to Hershey the ride doesn't have the rattle, but I won't expect that. It's such a great ride and I would hate to see it become rough.
  11. Glad to hear that Fahrenheit is a great ride. Where abouts is the rattle on Storm Runner? What parts of the ride and what rows did you ride?
  12. Talon, front row left side a few hours ago. The park was pretty empty, but all the coasters were vibrating more than usual.
  13. ^I rode Storm Runner 3 time during Spring Time in the Park earlier this year. I rode twice in the front seat and once near the back of the train. Both of my front row rides were perfectly smooth. The one near the back I noticed there was a slight rattle at the bottom of the first drop. That was the only place I noticed anything and it was barely anything. Unless things have changed since then, I'm not going to buy that. Have fun riding Fahrenheit and make sure you let us know how the ride is and how Storm Runner is.
  14. I really need to get out to Hershey soon! I'm itching to ride this. I have heard nothing but great things about the ride. ^ I just can't picture it being better than Storm Runner. Storm Runner is my favorite steel coaster and it's just behind El Toro on my list. But hey, I would love to see it happen!
  15. This looks like a really fun coaster! It should have a lot of airtime and laterals. I hope I get to Europe soon to ride all these awesome coasters.
  16. ^^The tracks are pretty close but they go the opposite ways through the turns and the lifts are staggered. That is why one looks taller than the other when they are the same height.
  17. Great report and pictures! Sounds like you had a very enjoyable day at Dorney. I doubt Dorney will be closed down just for a water park like Geauga Lake was. I mean, Dorney just put Voodoo in this year! I doubt the park would add a major coaster if they are planning on closing it. The park does get crowded quite often. I am not worried about Dorney closing anytime soon.
  18. Storm Runner- Front row right side. This is best for the launch and the ejector airtime at the crest of the top hat. Great Bear- Back row left side. The back has some nice floater airtime on the drop and the left side has a wider roll on the zero-g roll. Lightning Racer- Back or front. I don't prefer one over the other. Both provide awesome rides. Wildcat- Front row. The views are great and i get more air on the hills. Also, the front provides a smoother ride. Sooperdooperlooper- Back row. There is some floater airtime on the drop. Comet- Back row. The floater airtime on all the hills is great. Trailblazer- Front row. Sidewinder- First row of the last car. This gives a pretty smooth ride. Wild Mouse- Doesn't matter. Roller Soaker- I enjoyed the reverse seat. Fahrenheit- I have not been on the ride yet. I will later this summer, but I would assume the back row is the best. The back has to have great airtime on that first drop! I would say Storm Runner, Great Bear, Lightning Racer, Wildcat, and Fahrenheit are all worth the wait.
  19. ^^ I have heard that to and I am very curious as to what is wrong with the ride. A few of my friends were at Dorney over the weekend and they said the ride broke down a few times. When I was there Friday it ran flawless and had great dispatches. The only thing I can think of was the train would make a LOUD clunk noise when it would go through the station backwards the second time every 3 trains or so. The ride operator said that is a "normal" noise though.
  20. Six Flags Great Adventure has also lowered their prices $10! Now it is $49.99 at the gate and $39.99 online. I think this is a great idea with how expensive gas prices will be this summer.
  21. I would say go right to Volcano. It shouldn't be more than an hour wait. Then hit up Flight of Fear and then go over to Dominator to finish the day. You should easily have enough time for these three rides and probably a couple more.
  22. ^^I realized that too with Voodoo. A TON of people were scared to ride it on Friday night. I believe it is because people from this area have never even seen a launch coaster before. Great trip report so far! I am loving the pictures!
  23. Voodoo second to back row. It's a pretty good ride. Perfect addition for Dorney! I'm looking forward to more rides on it.
  24. I have ridden Storm Runner in a light rain, so I don't know when they decide it's too much rain.
  25. The ride does look a little slow in parts, but its not that bad. I'm sure it will speed up a little with the weather getting warmer and the ride breaking in. Also, to make it faster they can use different wheels and/or lube the track. Haha lube. I can't wait for this ride to open!
