Question about Impulse Coasters

Oh thanks for telling me that I never knew that. That's probably the reason why I never saw any brakes. -
Question about Impulse Coasters
yankees15 replied to AT0527's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a question about impulse coasters. What kind of braking system do they use, cause in pictures i can only see the LIMS. -
Yes there is and it's called "Hollywood Dream: The Ride". Also Dorney isn't getting Steel Venom for next season. It is rumored but, for 2008 I believe.

What Are Your "Coaster Goals" For 2007?
yankees15 replied to jappi's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
These are the parks that are definite for this coming coaster season. 1. Dorney Park 2. Hersheypark 3. Knoebel’s 4. Six Flags Great Adventure There are also two possible coaster trips. The first trip I have been planning for awhile now and the second could happen if my sister ends up going to school out in Pittsburgh next year. First possible trip: 1. Busch Gardens Europe 2. Paramount's Kings Dominion 3. Six Flags America Second possible trip: 1. Kennywood 2. Geauga Lake 3. Cedar Point -

Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
yankees15 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ That's a good point with the "launch Coaster Capital of the World" I totally forgot about that. I think that a stealth clone would do great in Hypersonic's place, but they should definitely add to it. Make it maybe 250-300 feet tall and 85-100 mph in about 3 seconds, also add an extra bunny hill and an overbanked turn. That would be awesome. Oh yeah don't feel stupid I make mistakes like that all the time and your welcome! -

^^ It's actually called Thorpe Park, just thought I'd let you know that. I hope that Hypersonic will operate for next season because I'm heading down there this summer if plans go as I hope. But I do think it is a good move by Cedar Fair to remove it because of high maintenance costs, low capacity, etc. If they do remove it I hope they put an Intamin hyper or giga in somewhere in the park. I think that that would be the best move for the park. This is why I think so: they need a tall ride that stands out from the others, they are high capacity rides, it would be the only coaster in the park with length to it, and they already have enough launched coasters. Also I think it would be an Intamin because Apollo's Chariot is very close to the park so they need something different to pull in the crowds. -
Wearing glasses on a coaster
yankees15 replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't have problems with glasses on coasters. The only time that i hold them on is during Hydra's jojo roll because it's so slow they WILL fall off. Most of the times I wear contacts so it doesn't matter. -

^^ No I would say that is the break run because if it was the launch area it would have an area in the middle of the track where the catch car and the cable would be. Also it would be box track and not 2 rail track. -

^ I never heard of that before but it would make sense. I still don't know because if you look at mavericks break fins they are very shinny and don't have those "spots" on them, but I guess CP could have already shaved the fins down. http://maverick.cedarpoint.com/latest/gallery/ (the second picture in the second row) -

^ Yes I know they are copper but they have those "spots" of stuff that looks like rust and I don't remember Storm Runner or Ka having those "spots". -

Nice pics! I never heard of that park before. Also I really like the picture of Medusa where the supports looked blue! -

Yes those are the breaks. But why do they look so old and rusty? I know Storm Runners arn't like that and that ride is 3 years old! -

The coaster is looking great so far, but I just don't think the layout is going to be exciting which could bring the ride down a little. But I'm sure it will still be a great ride. -
I think that Thunderhawk at Dorney is under rated. The ride has some insane ejector air in about 3 or 4 different places. It would have more if it wasn't trimmed, but even with the trims it still has some floater air on the last few hills. Also I don't think that the ride is rough, it's only rough at the bottom of the first drop and after the first turn around. So Thunderhawk gets my vote.

What parks have you visited?
yankees15 replied to Nicolas -TRZ-'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Animal Kingdom Busch Gardens Africa Busch Gardens Europe Bushkill Park Casino Pier Dorney Park EPCOT Hersheypark Knoebles Magic Kingdom MGM Studios Morey's Piers Paramount's Kings Dominon Seabreeze Sea World Orlando Six FLags Great Adventure Out of those I've only been on 40 coasters, which is sad. But that's because I didn't start ridding coasters until about 3-4 years ago. -

What is your local park?
yankees15 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Bushkill Park: 5 minutes Dorney Park: 25 minutes Hersheypark: 1.5 hours Great Adenture: 1.5 hours I would consider Dorney my home park because it's the best that is close to me. Bushkill Park isn't much of a park. -
Favorite type of B&M Coaster?
yankees15 replied to MummyAW's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I voted hyper because of how awesome Nitro is! I thought the airtime was awesome on it and much better than Steel Force's air. Inverted would be my next favorite, but I just loved Nitro so much. So I had to chose hyper. Here are how I rate the B&Ms I've been on: 1. Nitro 2. Medusa 3. Talon 4. Batman: The Ride 5. Great Bear 6. Hydra: The Revenge 7. Superman: Ultimate Flight
