  1. Wow Robb those were awesome POV's! Renegade looks like a great ride and I hope to see more of these rides in the future!
  2. Nitro at great adventure on friday.
  3. Thanks for the update! Griffon looks really impressive at night!
  4. Its got to be the Yankees all the way!
  5. I'm going to have to say B&M is the better overall company. Their coasters are usually smother and are defiantly more reliable. Intamin rides tend to be more forceful but are not reliable. To me, I would rather have a fun and reliable ride than a better coaster that isn't reliable.
  6. Great trip report! I'm might be going on friday. I hope all of the kinks will be worked out by then and I hope it won't be too crowded.
  7. I have only been on 3 and Lightning Racer (lightning) is my favorite GCI coaster. It's not intense, it's just fun!
  8. 1) There is a set of magnetic brakes in the track for the catch car to stop. 2) The launch is 0-128mph in 3.5 seconds but, once it gets to the 128mph it keeps that speed for a few seconds before the catch car releases and the train goes up the tower.
  9. Thanks for the update! Griffon looks so huge and awsome! By the way, were any of the coasters open today with the weather being so cold? I can't wait to ride this in June!
  10. Griffon will be using magnetic breaks. They should also include Hershey if they are having a lawsuit for this because of Storm runner.
  11. Congratulations Robb and Elissa for having such a beautiful child!
  12. Steel - Storm Runner at Hersheypark Wood - El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure Flat - Dominator at Dorney Park
  13. ^ If you click on the link there is more information on the tour. It stats that Chiller (robin) should open with the park and Chiller (Batman) should open shortly after. It is great to hear about Kingda ka running all four trains. Went I went last season there were only two trains and the line took forever!
  14. My all time favorites would be: Dammit - Blink-182 Fat lip - Sum 41 Bad Touch - Bloodhound Gang Let's Go - Lil Jon Shake - Ying Yang Twins ft. Pitbull
  15. ^ I never really realized how loud Dominator was until you pointed that out. Looking back on it, that is a very loud hiss. I think Dorney will end up with Steel Venom though, but I hope if they do get it they give the ride a total rehab.
  16. ^I totally forgot about the power feed. I think it is also safe to say it will be at Dorney, but for the 2008 season. The only thing that would keep this ride from coming to Dorney would be the residents that live right next to the park. They are very picky with sound and from what I've heard impulse coasters are very loud.
  17. Screamscape has posted a rumor that Dorney has requested a height restriction change for two small areas of land. If you look at the picture the two areas circled are next to Laser where Skyscraper used to be. It looks like Steel Venom may be coming to Dorney. http://www.screamscape.com/
  18. I personally really liked the one guy who worked on Steel Force back in 2005. He would say "All clear dispatch. Enjoy your 2,460 inches of DROP!" It was so awesome!
  19. ^ That's a great question. But no, they don't take away any airtime moments. The restraints are basically a lap bar with skinny shoulder straps. They come down tight on you thighs but, your butt can come out of the seat just fine. I personally love those kinds of restraints because they are comfortable, they make you feel safe, and they allow for airtime.
  20. Gotta love Storm Runner's launch spiel! "Alright riders, sit upright with head back and hold on tight to the grab handles at all times and keep your arms and legs inside the car at all times" (horse noise and heart beats)... Now Get ready, here we go! That has to be the all time best launch spiel! You can see and hear the whole spiel here, just ignore that really annoying lady.
  21. You shouldn't have to skip any coasters or flats. The only coaster I would skip would be Dragon Coaster which everyone else has already said. The best order to ride all the rides would be: Talon, Hang Time, Wild Mouse, Hydra, Meteor, Whip, Dominator, Thunderhawk, Steel Force, Revolution, Laser, and then Woodstock’s Express. If you do this you have walking in a huge circle and will have ridden all the major rides. Also, if you get there at opening and follow this plan you should be done by 1:00 at the latest. If you deside to go into the water park you should expect some lines. For some reason everyone goes to the water park and no one goes to the ride part of Dorney. As for food I would go to the Game Day Grill or Burger Barn which is next to Subway. The Burger Barn has pretty cheap food and it's not the bad either.
  22. My favorites are Six Flags Great Adventure's and Hersheypark's.
  23. I voted Steel Force because of it's nice floater air time and it's the only one i've ridden.
  24. ^Thanks for the great photo's! Did Mr. Bolliger say how big the first drop is? The press release didn't say how big the drop is just how tall the first hill was. IMO that drop looks about 215 deet cause it goes into that little trench. Anyway, this ride is going to be awesome!
