  1. Yeah, but hopefully they at least clean up the station walls. Sometimes I just look at the lift motor so I don't have to notice all the crap on the walls
  2. Can't they just close the ride down longer to paint it? If they are attracting families right now, they should be able to make it look the best it can, and I'm sure they wouldn't mind it being closed to get rid of all that gum and scum on it.
  3. I look forward to seeing this happen, which it will, since they're spending 16 million dollars on it. That's about how much Medusa cost to make in the first place. If the atomosphere enhances, then I don't care if no roller coaster appears...yet.
  4. Hey, they mentioned a new mega coaster for Tobu Zoo. I thought that park was owned by Togo, for some odd reason. Tobu=?Togo... Looks like B&M isn't having as many orders as Intamin is. Maybe it's time for them to diversify. Anyways, Intamin motorbike in Australia, to get back on topic.
  5. I had a pet rat when I was ten (which I loved very much ) and he died. He had so many close calls, such as how I would feed him too much fatty human food and he would stop running in his transparent ball, couldn't climb up the catwalk thing in his cage, etc. He developed some tumors, and they would go away. Then he stopped eating for two days and just died. I also had a parakeet that went on an eating spree before dying, which I found funny And the parakeet was only $20, but, I felt a little sad Anyways, I'll pray for the best for your cat, who must be more important than all the small critters I've ever had as pets (I was sad when my rat died, but if I had a pet that could bond better, I'd have been more sad), and since you also like Vekoma, I'll pray for Vekoma at the same time In a good way.
  6. I liked Six Flags Over Texas and Magic Mountain. My favorite is Marine World. Heading towards San Francisco, you have to go up a hill in the highway and then go down the hill while seeing crazy curves down below. Of course the highway is higher than the park at this point. Magic Mountain also has the obstructed by an obstacle until making a curve on the highway thing going with it.
  7. IMO there are lots of people in Northern California who end up spending their money going to Disneyland instead of Marine World. If they could make Marine World a nicer place and attract those families who are tired of Disneyland, then Six Flags could make more money from them. It sometimes gets tiring for me to endure a day's car ride to get to a park in Southern California to go to Disneyland. It could be so much better if Marine World could transform into a park that would prevent that annoying car drive. But this is Six Flags, so I don't think that will happen. Besides Great America, there is no competitor for Six Flags in the Northern California market.
  8. 5'2" and almost 16. Who knows, maybe I'll get taller since my dad became 5'11" after he started growing when 16. But I don't care, since it's only my legs that are short, so sitting down on a roller coaster I can't notice anything negative about being that height since the legs don't really raise people up when sitting down in the standard seats. Though I'm guessing it will suck for me if I ride a standup ride
  9. I used to think that V2 was painted yellow because the neighbors complained about being able to "see" it. Then they paint it red They're the ones who complained about it sticking a "noticeable" 30ft higher, then when the park makes it longer, it sticks out even more, in my opinion. And red stands out more than yellow does. So much for their complaining
  10. The most "fancy" thing I ever ate at Disneyworld was some macaroni and cheese, and a salmon. That's a real shame since I've noticed that there is more to Disneyworld food than I first thought, but my mom wouldn't have payed over $20 anyways
  11. This looks alot like sky gliding would, so if people would want a controlled experience, this would be it. If this was supposed to be a thrilling ride, then it seems to be a letdown. I've never been sky gliding before, or to Belgium for that matter, but I've been on Soarin' and that ride cost alot more than the Dopplemayr ride, so this is a nice glide over the park then.
  12. Walk the Line 7/10 No special effects (due, it's a documentary) but seeing Johhny Cash's story (after being forced to by my dad) with its interesting story had to be worth at least a 7 for me to not feel bad. And indeed, the use of weather and dialogue/action between characters and reactions to events (like throwing a guitar when angry) was nice. There, that's about it. I've never reviewed a movie, but I give it a 7/10.
  13. An ant ate my homework.
  14. What I like about coasters is that they are an adventure. They're fun because I think when I'm in a regular car, "Why can't THIS car fly around and do crazy stuff?" And roller coasters do crazy things. That and the whole complex chemical reaction that comes from riding them. Also, I like seeing well designed tracks because when it's the off season, they are just steel curves in the air. But I like steel curves in the air
  15. Oh yeah, I've read that before I thought there was an interview with him done on In the Loop since there is a picture of Mr. Bolliger a few pages back, the picture being in this topic, and of him sitting at a table with the In the Loopers.
  16. Hey, do you have a link to that interview? I tried searching the In the Loop archives but I would have to download and listen to all the IAAPA ones to figure it out. And I do think there does need to be innovation. Just not innovation that comes too soon. X was built way too tall and had too many problems and it was pushing it to have a 200ft prototype ride.
  17. I don't know why, but that s-curve before/after the turnaround looks painful to me. But since this ride is so small, there will probably not be so much speed into that part to cause pain. But all those curves do make the ride look sexy.
  18. Count me in as a fan of Heinz ketchup. I'm not the kind of person who discriminates between them, but Hunts to me tastes like . . . something I don't like Maybe it's that they put too much vinegar in it. Oh yeah, I'll love Thomas land since that's my name!
  19. So the loop's back together now? Great! My school band is going to Disneyland in Spring and it would have sucked if it were closed.
  20. Gah, it has to be this particular B&M ride that is the only one that has ever been dismantled? And twice in its lifetime? If it's going to go to Kyongju then I wish them good luck with it
  21. It looks, well, junior Did anybody else notice the chain return guide is different on this ride? Like those weird supports, it seems like they have to really get creative to fit them into the space like on Great Bear.
  22. There's a fun center around where I live with huge nets like that, so this is probably a sports related facility. Edit: Here it is: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=35.621695,139.522425&spn=0.006481,0.005922&t=k&hl=en
  23. If they really do this and make the rides look like that, then I'd be amazed. They actually seem willing to try something new but on a grander scale than, say, the park at the Mall of America.
  24. The park is licensing the rights to use the name and has signed contracts and such. But if they have to remove the Hard Rock monicer, then the park would still be themed to Rock 'n' Roll, just no Hard Rock references, I'd think...
  25. Hold on, isn't hydraulic oil not able to be compressed? They're still obviously for the launch system though.
