NEWS: Another Six Flags Park Is Closing!
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Losing a park is rarely a good thing, but with Six Flags' financial situation, trimming excess parks will help it back on the road to recovery. Eric -
Yes---to manage my blood sugar. Do you take speed bumps at full speed?

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
ebl replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All I can think of is that this was probably a pre-existing condition. It's unfortunate anyway. Eric -
"For some reason, I have NEVER liked Scions, I think it looks good, but Toyota should not need to try to come out with a new brand name to be 'Cool'" (crispy) Toyota is just reaching out to the "twentysomethings," though, strangely, a lot of "older" people are buying Scions---particularly the xB model. I took a test drive in one of those. It was a five-speed and was very underpowered. But there's a heck of a lot of room inside! I don't trust the Chevy Cobalt because I don't think it's much better than the Cavalier that it replaced. Honestly, I plan to stick with Honda or Toyota when I buy my next car. You'll pay more for one, but their reliability is unmatched. Eric

I see the American Orient Express trains pass behind my house now and then. In fact, one went by about two weeks ago. One day, I'm going to save up and take a cross country rail trip. Or at least go up to Seattle on the Coast Starlight (or Coast Starlate as it usually runs!). Eric

^ Must have a camera on me because, well... < Drank too much today. V Stunk too much today!

Yes, yes I have. Have you tried Coke Blak yet?

I met Denise at GhostRider's media day (December 1998). She seemed nice... Eric

^ If you can, get the Scion. "Every Dodge my family has had (2 Caravans and 1 Neon), the transmission die on them around 80K miles." (mcjaco) A friend of mine has a 2003 PT Cruiser and just had his transmission replaced at about 50K miles. There's something about Chrysler and transmissions that just...keeps me away. Eric

Yes. Do you run around naked when nobody's home?

"...not quite shure how Consumer reports gets thier info..." (crispy) Um, from consumers, hence the name. Every year I fill out a very detailed survey about the various products I own, and mail it back to them. Their data is based upon those surveys. "I just traded in my 2004 CRV- EX. It was a POS." (mcjaco) Sorry to hear that. My 2002 CR-V LX has given me very few problems in its 82,000 miles so far. (I had to replace part of the throttle body because a sensor went bad.) I guess you got the rare bad one. Your choice of a 2006 RAV4 is a good one. It's bigger and more powerful than what it replaced. Honda's 2007 CR-V will be all new as well---no doubt a bit bigger and offer a V6; Acura is getting a version as an entry level SUV. It will be called the RDX; the MDX's little brother as it were. Nice report, looks like you had fun. What was with the funky rainbow paint job on the TOGO standup? That was...interesting... Eric

Old Man River. 'Nuff said. Eric

Get the Honda. Honda doesn't have its reputation for quality for nothing, y'know. Get a copy of Consumer Reports April issue if you can and compare Dodge models to Honda models overall. After reading that, you'll find yourself at the Honda dealer. Eric "has a 2002 Honda CR-V and is very happy with it" L.

Just finished eating a salad. Eric

It was $7.00 back in March 1999 when I took my one and only ride on it. From what people report, the price seems to vary quite a bit. You could lose $12.50 in a slot machine in about the same three-and-a-half minutes, but at least your head won't hurt! Eric

9pm EDT will be 6pm PDT, but they often run two feeds, meaning that it will air twice. Chances are, I probably won't watch it. I got bored with the coaster shows a long time ago because they were pretty much the same thing over and over. I've already seen construction pictures and on-ride/POV videos. Good enough for me. Eric

Favorite Outdoor Activities (Besides Coaster Riding)
ebl replied to CoasterExpert13's topic in Random, Random, Random
I enjoy hiking, though I'm not really into the camping part. So I do day hikes. I also like to walk, more so at night because around here it's much cooler. Also, I have to echo what AznShortBoi8021 said. I like trains and public transportation, too. With a very busy rail line just 100 feet behind my house, I don't have to go far. Eric -
Have you ever gone to a park alone?
ebl replied to arlen23's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I go alone all the time. There are very few people I know who can or will keep up with me. I may be over 40, but I have spunk! Eric -
Yo mama's so stupid she puts stamps on e-mails. Eric

I pass through Garden Grove on the freeway now and then. That's about as close as I want to get! Thanks for the report, Patrick! And I like the clickable words. I did a trip report like that once. Of note, my wife worked across the street from that notorious Bank of America shootout in North Hollywood a few years back. That was wild. Eric

Farthest back coaster related memory
ebl replied to Vekoma Fan Boy's topic in Random, Random, Random
My mom claims that I rode the Cyclone Racer at the old Long Beach Pike, but I don't remember that. (But if I did ride it, I sure wish I'd have remembered!) The Matterhorn at Disneyland is the first coaster I do remember. And I used to be really scared of it. Eric -
I chose baseball, but I like a good basketball game, too. Football I can do without. Eric
