  1. ^ Loves aircraft. < Loves trains. V Loves Dumpsters!
  2. "Sometimes I think I'd quite enjoy being a mod here." (CoasterLou) It's been interesting, Louise. I'm a mod on two sites right now (this one and Westcoaster) and sometimes it's frustrating dealing with people who can't spell or even barely express themselves, let alone follow the rules of the site. I don't it so much here, but on Westcoaster, I do a lot of editing of posts to make them readable and to keep the board clean and easy to read. Quite honestly, that work is somewhat therapeutic and it makes me feel useful. Eric
  3. Another tip: Ease up on the bold type. Eric
  4. I don't even have a hoodie. But I do have taquitos waiting at home for dinner! Eric
  5. ^ Make that two of us. I'm sure that if I try hard enough, I can think of a business to start or something else. The bad thing is that I have too much on my plate right now to do that. Eric
  6. I saw Pete Rose at a sports memorabilia store in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in March. He was signing stuff, but had few takers. Eric
  7. ^^ You've said a mouthful, Hercules---and you're absolutely right. Let me take your thoughts bit by bit and respond to them: "Opinions are not fact. Laughing, joking, and poking fun is great, but when there are malicious attacks, I become angered." Unfortunately, the world is getting more and more rude. That's probably why I have begun to back away. Often, people say that I should fight for what I believe, but to me that's ridiculous. The best way to handle attacks, in my opinion, is to just leave it alone and walk away. Is that "chicken?" No, that's avoiding unnecessary confrontation. "I also have a problem with people who believe they are more knowledgeable than others are." Me too. I run into these folks all the time. Like I said before, you can't fight them and change their mind. "...there is a certain amount of arrogance around." You got that right. Some people get involved with a certain group and think their poop doesn't stink. I get a real kick out of some ACE members that walk around like they're some sort of deity because they get the special perks from parks that the average person doesn't get. Well, DUH?!?!? Anyone can join ACE!!! "I hate it when people degrade people and act like their opinion is fact and nothing else matters." Degrading others is the only way a lot of people can "improve" themselves. Very immature, and you have to learn to laugh in their face. "Something that kind of ties into that is the issue of coaster count." "I've ridden more coasters than you have." That's called "bragging rights." I call it, "Who gives a damn?" It's like the whole post count thing on Internet message boards. "I've posted more, so I'm better or more popular." No, you have too much time on your hands. Your last sentence is the very best advice---laugh it off and go have fun. Never mind what others say. They can deal with their own panties up their crack... Eric
  8. "I did Kumba from the back." (wes41190) Not that there's anything wrong with that... I was at BGT back in 2002 and had the chance to "do" Kumba, but it broke down before I could get there. Oh well, next time. Eric
  9. Wyandot Lake was one of the old pre-Six Flags Premier properties, wasn't it? So it became a Six Flags park simply because its parent company bought the other ones. Was I asleep? Did Six Flags indeed dump Frontier City? Not that they shouldn't have, but I just don't remember seeing that anywhere. Whatever, I think Six Flags is doing the right thing. They acquired too many properties too quickly and ones that really were never a "fit" for the chain. Selling off still-profitable parks will bring in much needed cash to help Six Flags get out of the hole they dug. Eric
  10. If any of you ever happen to be in Southern California, go over to Catalina Island and play at the Golf Gardens. That is a very unique and fun course. One hole even has a loop! Go here to check it out. Eric
  11. Just curious, what do you use to add color to scratchboard. Unless I missed it, I don't think you mentioned it. Watercolor? Ink? However you're doing it, you're doing great work. Eric
  12. 9/10 --- Nothing wrong with a donkey enthusiast. Someone has to like those critters! Eric
  13. I'll second Canon. My wife and I both have one (mine is an A70; hers is an A80). Both of those models are discontinued, but Canons hold up very well and we've taken some great shots with ours. Eric

  21. ^ Going blonde? Not a problem! Just learn to say "Ohmigod!" a lot and no one will think anything of it! Eric
  22. I just dropped a Cheez-It on the floor. Eric
  23. ^ Actually, you're right about Mazda. They tend to be overlooked. For me, I'll pay the extra for the security of a Honda or Toyota. But Mazdas for the most part are good cars. Eric
