[RCT3] Fisher Park
australianalex replied to Tomes1225's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
The park looks great. Nighthawk looks fantastic especially, and I love the woodie. -
Plus Luna Park Melbourne have posted pictures of them demolishing their Galaxi coaster with a supposedly big announcement coming next week. I love how, after a drought of no new rides for over 5 years, theme parks in Australia have suddenly exploded in the last couple of years with tons of new additions - right after TPR did their trip. I think when Robb re-visits the Australian parks whenever TPR do their next Australia trip he'll be surprised at how much the parks have changed.

I think it'd be unfortunate if Cedar Fair retired all their Arrow loopers. I genuinely enjoy most Arrow loopers, and rarely receive any head banging from them due to my head being above the restraints... not sure how a lot of adults receive so much head banging from them? Aaand I'll just crawl back under my one person Arrow fanboy rock now -
Coolest Ride Vehicles

The KumbaK trains on Arkham Asylum at Warner Bros Movie World not only look awesome, they've also managed to turn a horrible SLC headbanger into a really decent, intense, enjoyable coaster! Their only design flaw is that for some reason the ride attendants have to do up the seatbelt for you, making loading times painfully slow. But at least the ride itself is no longer painful. -
If I'm with friends, I'll ride kiddie coasters just for fun - which I'm sure is what most members do on these TPR trips. When I'm on my own I'll only ride a kiddie coaster if it's a woodie or if it's made by a company like Gerstlauer that make decent kiddie coasters. But I'll steer clear of wacky worms and tivolis etc

I've seen enough Hentai to know where this is going... Sorry, I had to. -
Before this year I'd only been on about 15 coasters, but after my UK trip in June (plus a couple of new credits in Australia) my count is 45. So my top 10 has changed hugely. 2011 - there are rides in my 2011 top 10 that I didn't even enjoy, yet they made it on here due to lack of credits. 1. Superman Escape - Warner Bros Movieworld 2. Tower of Terror II - Dreamworld 3. Spin Gear - Sega Republic 4. Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster - Warner Bros Movieworld 5. Wild Mouse - Aussie World 6. Cyclone - Dreamworld 7. Scenic Railway - Luna Park Melbourne 8. Rattlesnake - Chessington 9. Road Runner Rollercoaster - Warner Bros Movieworld 10. Mick Doohan's Motocoaster - Dreamworld. 2012 1. Nemesis - Alton Towers 2. Superman Escape - Warner Bros Movieworld 3. Saw the Ride - Thorpe Park 4. Grand National - Pleasure Beach Blackpool 5. Nemesis Inferno - Thorpe Park 6. Swarm - Thorpe Park 7. Speed No Limits - Oakwood 8. Hair Raiser - Ocean Park 9. Megafobia - Oakwood 10. Oblivion - Alton Towers

Superman Escape, Warner Bros Movieworld. Followed by, surprisingly, the same park's SLC. I rode it for the first time since it received new trains from KumbaK and was blown away. Who knew SLCs were so intense and fun! I never noticed the intensity when it had Vekoma trains as I was too focused on the pain.

Hurricane Sandy vs. Roller Coasters
australianalex replied to UrbanLegend's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Rye Playland thing is a bit exaggerated. They posted a picture of a tree blown over and received comments such as "OMG" and "Unbelievable" and "Horrible to see the damage". -
Strangest layouts
australianalex replied to Her0ofLime's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Erm, the vertical lift and beyond vertical drop is the signature element for Eurofighters. Also, the track type is the same as there's no reason to change it. All of B&M's tracks are the same. -
Hurricane Sandy vs. Roller Coasters
australianalex replied to UrbanLegend's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's sad to see any damage to any park/pier/coaster imo. Sure, it's not a particularly large loss to the coaster community, but I'm sure many families made some memories there. Good to hear the larger parks (Knoebels, SFGAdv, Dorney Park) are fine. Seen some photos of the devastation around the East Coast, crazy stuff. I have friends in Ridgewood, NJ so I'm nervous about hearing how they are, especially considering their house is surrounded by large trees. -
Worst Coaster Ever?
australianalex replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree, kiddie coasters shouldn't be named the "worst" unless they're super rough and painful. If they're smooth and fun for kids, they fulfil their purpose. The worst coaster I've been on is Lethal Weapon at Movieworld, however I need to re-ride it as Arkham Asylum then re-judge it as I'm sure it'll be better with the KumbaK trains. EDIT: Re-rode it as Arkham Asylum, it's now a fantastic ride! I had no idea SLCs were so intense, Im usually distracted by the pain. Having been on only 7 wooden coasters and enjoying them all, I don't really have a worst. I suppose the most uninteresting one was the Scenic Railway at Luna Park. However I don't dislike it due to it's nostalgic feel and the fact it offers pretty good views of St Kilda. -

Wood Coaster looks like it craps all over Wodan. What an awesome looking coaster! -
Ocean Kingdom in China

^ From the pictures it looks like it's going to be a straight drop to me? I see no twisting, and it's pointing downwards. By the way, the winged seats offer much more freedom than the cars on floorless coasters.
