Well at least we know Gerstlauer are open to it. -

This does look like a ton of fun. The layout is really cool and looks like it could have some nice airtime and hang time, and a 0-100kph launch in 1.6 seconds is pretty impressive! Also love the fact that this is getting lapbars. Didn't expect a corkscrew at the end there! Would've thought the dive loop was the final inversion. -
Best Invert - Vote for your favorite!
australianalex replied to Scott's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Expect the Batman clone to crap all over the SLC. Sure, SLC's have some alright forces, but B&M inverts, especially Batman clones, are much more forceful while at the same time being perfectly smooth. -
Parks Visible From The Air?

I spotted SeaWorld (Australia) while flying from the Sunshine Coast to Melbourne. Tried to spot the other Gold Coast parks but was on the wrong side. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

Is it just me or does that sound like it'd be a perfect PR backstory for a ride at a Merlin park? -
My first ride on Nemesis was fairly disappointing - front row in the morning, it really wasn't any more intense than Nemesis Inferno. But riding it back row later in the day took my breath away and I saw why it got such a high rating. Also, regardless of the ride experience, the landscaping and interaction is awesome.

I'm in the fear category for this. I don't know if it's just because it's so different to anything we've seen, but that just looks... not right. I'm sure it'll ride awesomely though. I think it's because the RMC rolls were made with prefabricated track and this is traditional wooden track that just makes it so strange.

With the construction of Gold Striker, Full Throttle, Gatekeeper, Outlaw Run and the Smiler this year I'd totally forgotten about this little GCI woodie. It looks incredible, much faster than I expected! It's insane speed reminds me of Hellcat at Timber Falls - do shorter trains make coasters run faster or is it just an illusion, or even a coincidence?

I think they were testing the minimum speed for it to get through the course. It went insanely slow through some of the inversions, reminded me of RCT3 where you're praying your coaster will make it through a loop. -

I don't think Gatekeeper will get best new Steel Coaster. With iRat and this alone it has some stiff competition. Seriously? I think Cedar Point could build a kiddie coaster and it would win best new coaster. The GTA's love CP. Even though i agree Smiler, iRat, Outlaw Run should be top contenders. About the shaking, i have only been on one euro fighter and it was smooth as hell. So i cant tell what the average euro shakiness is. Try riding Saw nothing smooth about that lol rough as hell now I have to agree, Saw was horrible last time I rode it Honestly I only ever really felt painful headbanging on one of my four rides on Saw. I found Colossus to be much, much worse. Gerstlauer OTSR's are much lower than Intamin ones and its therefore somewhat easier to escape head banging by leaning forward a bit. Meanwhile, I had to do the SLC brace position on Colossus to escape a migraine. -

Even though most of the apparent roughness is caused by the poor camera mount as Robb said, there does seem to be a pretty painful jolt coming out of the cobra roll. But other than that it honestly doesn't look too bad at all! -
Nice article, the first "best coasters" article I've ever seen with coasters that are deserving of being on the list instead of the usual crap in most lists (*cough* Kingda Ka, Millennium Force *cough*). I've currently ridden 2 of the 15 (Nemesis and Superman Escape) but will soon be riding iSpeed and Expedition GeForce.

Looks a bit rough in parts in the onride video, but nowhere near as bad as it could have been. I think this'll be an awesome coaster! -

No, they're the same. Some people have problems with the restraints, some don't. I personally didn't have any problems on Swarm either, though I did notice that the restraints did get quite tight. I was just lucky enough to escape any major "crushing". -
Photo TR: Opening day of Juvelen at Djurs Sommerland

Looks fantastic! I love Jet Rescue so I'm sure I'd love this. Intamin really stepped up their motocoaster design, especially when you look at their abysmal prototype (Motocoaster at Dreamworld). Djurs Sommerland is definitely on my bucket list now, seems to have a wonderful collection of coasters. -
New Intamin looper train?
australianalex replied to kadabrium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is great! I expected Intamin's new looper trains to use the Accelerator restraints with the thin, loose OTSR's as they'd improve the ride experience alone, but this is even better. -

Can't wait to see this testing, not that we'll be able to follow the train through that insane layout.
