  1. May I just complain about how my Law teacher is a complete psychopath? One kid answered back to him and he grabbed their pencil case and threw it against a wall before picking it up and throwing it back at the kid. Once a smallish kid wasn't listening so the teacher picked him up and dropped him back on his chair and left him with a huge bruise on his thigh. How does this man still have a job, teaching law of all subjects?
  2. After riding Blackpool's Wild Mouse I have to say it makes the ones at Aussie World and Luna Park seem like nothing. It's absolutely insane.
  3. Oh my god, really? Because Cedar Point are clearly theming this ride to 9/11.
  4. I always thought this was just the cookie-cutter Arrow corkscrew or loopscrew model- always nice to find out about a custom layout Arrow looper. It still sucks though
  5. Or just the second half... Or just the brake run!
  6. Judging by the awesomeness that is New Texas Giant, and the insane layout for Outlaw Run, I think we're in for a real treat if RMC are indeed refurbing Rattler.
  7. I had a coaster related dream last night. I dreamt that Shambhala was built at my school, and that we weren't allowed to ride it because we never had time between classes and stuff. The weird thing is that the ride was still owned by PortAventura in my dream
  8. Some people may argue that it's a steel coaster that thinks its a woodie
  9. I agree the ride stations here are extremely frustrating. On most rides you're told where to sit, but if you ask politely you may be lucky enough to wait for front row, but that's quite rare as the staff in this country aren't exactly friendly in most places. Interestingly, Motocoaster does have a single riders queue, but I've never seen it in use as its usually chained off. Anyway, cool TR and nice pics! Can't wait to see your TR of Movieworld. Though Dreamworld is undoubtably a better all round park, Movieworld is my favorite as it doesn't seem quite so disjointed, plus the ride quality is much better.
  10. I've always found the Intamin restraints that can be found on Maverick quite good on rides such as Superman Escape (Movieworld), Stealth and Rita. However, none of those three rides have QDC's but I can imagine the restraints would hurt a bit on an aggressive ride like Maverick.
  11. Coaster: A Nemesis clone, complete with theming. May be tricky to squeeze in as my garden is about half the size of Nemesis' station. But I can try Flat ride: An Intamin drop tower to wake me up in the morning.
  12. It's more of an inversion than the inclined loop (which is actually just a helix) on the Swarm at Thorpe Park that doesn't even come close to inverting you, I don't think it even tips past 90 degrees. Yet RCDB and Thorpe Park still count it.
  13. By the way, if they're going for the tallest and fastest wing rider in the world, they're not going to include Intamin wing riders and Arrow/S&S 4D's are they? Because if they do, they have to top 80mph (Furius Baco) and 250ft (Eejanaika). I'm guessing they mean the tallest and fastest B&M wing rider in the world, though that still means they have to top Wild Eagle's 210ft.
  14. This looks awesome! I enjoyed the Swarm quite a lot, and this looks a lot bigger and a lot better than the Swarm. The layout looks fantastic I'm sure this is more than enough compensation for the loss of an Intamin Bobsled.
  15. Sounds like you're referring to the Vekoma Tilt coaster Gravity Max in Discovery World in China. A video on Youtube titles it "the worlds first coaster with a broken track." I do however remember seeing the rendering on Vekoma's site back in the day and thought it was the most amazing thing ever, probably followed by your typical Vekoma head bashing. Apparently it's quite good. Plus, the trains do look slightly better than the average Vekoma trains. They still look like deathtraps though.
  16. Ya beast is definitly different but when I was watching a POV on youtube it looked like their was a launch is there? Um... no.
  17. The Dragon at Ocean Park has a funky layout with two lift hills. Supersonic Odyssey has a very long and unusual pre-lift section, and an unusual turnaround before the first drop. The crazy bent coat hanger section on Titan at Spaceworld, Japan. Also, the layouts on both sides of Dragon Challenge are very unusual IMO. And anything made by the Pax company looks like it was created by someone on meth.
  18. Is there such thing as sustained ejector airtime? I'm more a fan of extremely strong, but sustained, airtime than sudden bursts. For example, the airtime on the camelback of Speed No Limits is some of the best I've experienced, but I'm not sure what that falls under - floater or ejector. In reply to the original topic, the only coaster I've been on where I felt like there may have been too much airtime was Grand National at Pleasure Beach. By the end of the ride the bursts of ejector airtime seemed back to back and I was being beaten to a pulp. However this is also the reason I loved the ride so much lol
  19. It'd be good to talk about the suspended coaster design and how the first suspended coaster, the Bat, failed but the design was later fixed and went on to cause other companies to build looping and launched versions from the suspended concept. Also, talking about how a coaster's actual track can be incorporated to make it more unique and thrilling - e.g tilting track on Gravity Max and free fall drop track on Thirteen/Polar X-Plorer/Verbolten.
  20. Awesome! This is going to kick ass. Let's just hope and pray it isn't rough, but I doubt it will be. I love how on other pages and websites people are complaining about how "boring" the layout is and that SDC should've just bought a GCI. Last time I checked, a 81 degree drop, twisted over banked turn, double-up double-down and double barrel rolls doesn't usually contribute for a boring layout on a woodie! There's also the thing about barrel rolls being standard inversions. Yes, they're standard on steel coasters. On a woodie it'll be incredible. So to anyone complaining about this ride, seriously stop.
  21. I actually don't mind Arrow coasters too much. Sure, they're rough, but at the moment Im the perfect height where I'm tall enough that my head sits above the OTSR's, greatly reducing head banging, but not so tall that my shoulders are compressed. They're much better than Vekoma's dreadful SLC restraints that completely enclose my head and making head banging inescapable.
  22. Well, the person kind of has a point, they obviously weren't being serious about the alcohol and cigarette thing.
