  1. So I went by and took some photos of construction at Adventure Pointe. The park will open with around 8-10 different rides and attractions. Pretty cool to see a park being built in person. Future Front Entrance Exit through the gift shop Ride pad getting ready Take the tunnel Ballon ride Tower of ballon ride Swing ride Bike ride For you control panel fans Train track which is completed now
  2. I have heard from people who worked on the project that it will happen one day but not anytime in the next few years. But hey, Adventure Pointe is being built right now as I type this down the road. Go support them because I know they have big plans.
  3. ^ I saw Kurios a few weeks ago. While its not my favorite as far as story goes, it had some great acts. Including one act that lets just say used a candlestick very clever. Any cirque fan will enjoy this show.
  4. Great report. I've read a few books on Walt so it's cool to see some of these things. I'm going to have to check this out when I go to San Francisco one day.
  5. Each year around this time, I hear about good operations at Six Flags. Just wait till schools are out then it will be back to the normal terrible operations.
  6. Always great photos. Just makes me want to get on plane and spend a day at BGT.
  7. Here's a small video construction update. I can't wait to ride a new INTAMIN coaster in America. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/4pLWNQahYv8[/youtu_be]
  8. You need to change that and get to Knoebels. I think you would really like it. Now that I see the video and that the ride is from SBF. I remember seeing it this year at IAAPA but was to busy to ride. It looked like people were enjoying it when we walked by. I need to get back to Knoebels this year.
  9. My last beer was "I tell you Wit" from the local brewery in front of my neighborhood. It goes well with a few rounds of CAH
  10. I'll admit, I'm not very excited for Joker since it's the same coaster at Fiesta has but it does look great with the colors.
  11. Oh man, that's sad to hear. I really enjoyed the park and it's catchy theme song.
  12. This looks like another great compact coaster from Gravity Group. Look forward to riding it one day.
  13. The newsletter will be going out soon. We weren't happy with the newsletter service provider before so we made a switch. The rides will be annoounced in upcoming newsletters and social media updates. We actually have announced a few but will reannounce them. The rides for opening are geared towards families. The thrills will come later.
  14. Hey all, For those of you who don't know me, my name is Ryan. You may have met me at a TPR event, tour or just seen me post on the forums. Well, a year ago I started to work for Adventure Pointe. It's been a long time coming but we started construction a few months ago. I thought I give you all a quick construction update. The goal is to open by Spring 2017. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Most of the water and sewage of the 25 acre park has finished. These will be part of a culvert in the back. Soon, this will all be buried and the dirt will be leveled for the start of concrete The bigger culverts will go to the front side of the park. Lots of preparation for potential floods and hurricanes. New sign that can be seen from Freeway 45 South
  15. Great TR. I can't wait to get back to ride flying dinosaur one day.
  16. Random question for the locals. Does anyone happen to have any photos of the Jolly Monster? A standard Eyerly Monster. It was at the park from 1973 till 1981. I found a video of it on YouTube but can't find any photos while at SFMM. If you happen to have any photos, please share. The park I work for Adventure Pointe actually bought the ride and we are fixing it up now.
  17. No. From that image of the top of Giant, the Batman Stunt Show theater was located off the image to the right of the Oil Derrick. isn't to the right where Superman Tower is? (and before converting to Superman, was Air Race). I don't recall there being a stadium there.. . but I'm getting old, so who knows if my memory is going There is a stadium area for concerts (1 on the map below) that you can see from NTAG. The other stage nearby was used for the batman stunt show. Now it's used for haunted houses which is the building with the label Tower section on it.
  18. it's home to the Texas Rangers baseball team, and the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globe_Life_Park_in_Arlington Not that stadium. This one. That's the concert area in the park. They still have a few concerts a year there I believe.
  19. Yeah I agree 2017 looks like a down year for new coasters but im planning to hit up some old favorites. Maybe catch a few new ones that have been built in the last few years. I am surprised there's not at least one huge coaster coming to the states. I guess I can't complain to much since Texas might get three (two confirmed) new coasters in 2017.
  20. Just found this fact sheet over at Texas Thrill Seekers Facebook. Confirms Intamin!!!
  21. This park really needed a coaster between Shamu Express and Steel Eel/Great White. This is a great fit for the park and it looks fun. I know when I show the video to my nieces later, they will be wanting to ride. Not to mention, it's going to be great to see an Intamin coaster being built again in the states.
  22. So apparently the news today was that tomorrow is the big announcement. Confusing tweet but makes more sense now from a few days ago.
  23. Seaworld San Antonio just started tweeting over and over to lots of blogs and sites that a big announcement is coming this Monday. Maybe more info on the coaster? Just an example of the tweet being sent out to many.
  24. Just thought I let you know that the Houston Downtown Aquarium coaster is not confirmed yet. It's part of an expansion pad but they need Houston to closed down a section of a busy road that goes between the new land owned. Last I heard, they are still trying to get it approved.
  25. We went to Universal the Monday after WCB. So it's cool to hear your thoughts on the park. I haven't been to USH in almost 10 years. The log ride photo from Knotts is instant gold. Great trip report and cool meeting you at Rock & Brews after Knotts.
