  1. In the case of Road Runner Express? Lift motor, structural issue, coyote with a chainsaw, coyote with a stick of dynamite. Could be anything... I see what you did there haha
  2. ^50 years ago today, AstroWorld opened in Houston. The amusement park's creator, Judge Roy Hofheinz, unlocked the gates himself. Admission for adults, $4.50. Kids, $3.50. Parking, 50 cents. RIP Astroworld
  3. Great TR and photos. I liked how you started it with some cultural knowledge. Boys are better than girls
  4. Sounds like not only did the horses for the carousel get repainted but they may have fixed up the bang organ too. And we still got the Pirate dark ride coming. This has been a great year for Fiesta Texas. (seeing this carousel go up reminds me of my old job in the industry) Concrete for a carousel
  5. So glad to hear no one got hurt. I’ve never been to Europa Park but you hate to hear something like this happen. I thought it was nice to read the support they were getting online. I was really impressed with how the park handle it all and I’m sure they rebuild the area fast.
  6. ERP is a silent owner in these parks. I would imagine it would be the same as Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Concord CA. (Which is also owned by ERP) I honestly had to Google where Concord, California, is. Checked out their website--looks like Gold+ membership or higher gives you entry? Sounds right if they had to get EPR their moneys too. Everyone gots ta get paid. Concord is part of the SF Bay Area and isn't too far from Vallejo. A Discovery Kingdom Gold Pass now includes the water park in Concord just like the Magic Mountain Gold Pass (the one I have) includes the water park next door. I think Six Flags is trying to get companion water parks for its theme parks in places where they don't already have water parks. I'm not sure what they're going to do the Wet N Wilds in Phoenix and Houston though and what Six Flags passes will be included with those. If they were buying Castles N Coasters I'm sure they would give it a major overhaul, but the fact that they aren't means it must not even be worth acquiring to make it a major Phoenix area theme park. If any of the former Astroworld were still there they would have reopened it but maybe they are waiting for one of the new theme parks in Houston to get built and open up and then try to acquire it so they can pair it with the water park they acquired. I thought about that, I would be all for Six Flags purchasing Grand Texas and spend that money there looking to burn to build the theme park portion now. That would be unexpected since Grand Texas was developed by the old Astroworld GM. I think Six Flags just wanted a way in the Houston market. The last few years of Astroworld, Six Flags owned Splashtown, despite that Astroworld had Waterworld an okay waterpark. The difference now, they will have competition from Schlitterbahn Galveston, Typhoon Texas and soon to open less than an hour away Big Rivers at Grand Texas. It will be interesting to see how it goes this time. I’ll go to Wet N Wild Splashtown if my Six Flags season pass works there.
  7. So this deal is to operate these parks. I wonder if the plan is to eventually buy these parks. I guess it will still be up to the current owners to add new rides. I do like that my season pass should be good at a Houston park again heh. This will be interesting to follow.
  8. Here are some recent photos of construction. I think they will have both rides open by June. Making the old dark ride pretty Where the carousel is going.
  9. It would be nice if later on they moved part of the game building near Batman to make the pathway connect to the other side. SFOT already has so many dead ends. Also from the photo I’m posting you can see how much room will still be there even after the Harley ride since it’s not taking up much.
  10. For anyone going to the park this weekend. The single rider line for Wonder Woman is not an option at this time. At least it wasn’t today so doubtful for the weekend. I feel like the park should stop trying to keep groups together and just count off to 8.
  11. That was a fun trip report to read. Minute Maid is my second home. Yeah I’ve only seen Galveston Pier busy during the discount days. I just don’t feel like they have enough rides for the price and I think many other locals would agree.
  12. ^I’m not really sure since I was using the single rider line. I maybe waited 30 minutes at first then about an hour later. They were asking everyone to wait in the overflow queue then they separate us in the main queue. They really need a divider in the main queue. They were telling guests as they enter the main queue that it was another 2 hours wait. Of course for some reason around 1pm, they took a train off so I bet you could almost double that 2 hour wait then. I highly recommend using the single rider line. Someone asked me why they even have a single rider line since everyone is a single rider. It’s the way they group you for the trains. They group the big groups together on the same train normally leaving a seat or two. One of the times it worked out that I sat behind my friend with me.
  13. what do you mean by having to tell the employee... when i went last week they had it where you just walked into the single line I guess since the line was so long and they were using overflow queues today. They actually had an employee walk me to the single rider line. They need to just put a chain or divider to separate the line.
  14. I got 3 rides in today. Rode in the last seat, front seat and 5th seat. I think I liked the 5th seat ride best. It’s a great ride with nice airtime and really smooth. RMC and Fiesta have another winner. BTW, so they had single rider line open but you have to tell the employees you want to go to it. That’s how I was able to ride 3 times on opening day. Although I will say they were moving the line pretty well with their system.
  15. Never in my life did I think I find a wacky worm TR fascinating. Only Andy could pull that off.
  16. I thought I saw a few asking about a test seat. They have one now. I’m hoping to make a trip this weekend to ride.
  17. A friend of mine happen to be a job site this morning in San Antonio and I happen to tell him he should go ride the new coaster at Fiesta if he drives by. He just text me he’s about to ride for the 18th time, no one is at the park today.
  18. I was happy to see many of my top 10 in the top 25. I really need to get over to Mexico City to check that out. My favorite surprise was seeing Storm Chaser so high. I thought I had seen more bad reviews for it but I guess I was wrong.
  19. I think the POV is coming out this morning. I’m thinking about going during the season pass preview. It’s still going to be a lot of people but I’m hoping with school still going, it won’t be as bad.
  20. Sounds like it will open next weekend on the 28th. Here is a cool photo of the train.
  21. I won free tickets from a radio station. Never has happen to me before.
  22. Even if all they did was tear down half the ride and build a new ride. It’s better than looking at a coaster rotting away.
  23. Great to see videos of people riding. I’m really hoping this coaster opens before school is out.
  24. So I saw their website has been updated bigriverswaterpark.com and it has no mention of slides. Unless I missed it. Maybe they will just try to get what they can open. I know they announced several slides. I’m more interested in checking out the zip line attractions at Gator Bayou that will open with the waterpark.
