  1. ^ & ^^ Hersheypark did a contest along those lines about ten years ago. It was a partnership with Atari not long after RCT3 was released. You submitted a coaster design that you made in RCT3. They claimed that the coaster that won would be built in the park, but obviously that never materialized.
  2. ^ When you grow up riding Steel Phantom at Kennywood, you don't need no stinkin' crash helmet.
  3. Judging from what I've seen at other parks, I think RipTide would be a good candidate for removal. Several other parks have already gotten rid of theirs, and they just don't pull the crowds in like they used to.
  4. ^ They've definitely got the space for it there. But of course, they'll have to paint it brown first before they install it!
  5. I unfortunately never had the chance to ride GASM, but I would much rather have it than Green Lantern.
  6. Always love your reports of your crazy trips! I don't blame you for splurging for the Flash Pass at SFGAm. I wouldn't be waiting in that 2.5 hr line either!
  7. Yeah, this is stupid. It's the result of too many stupid people watching cable news.
  8. If we're talking parks in the Northeast, maybe Great Escape? It would be a lovely addition there.
  9. Coke Freestyle pods should be mandatory in ALL Ferris wheels.
  10. ^ There are four left: - Jumbo Jet (Dreamland, Belarus) - This is the one that used to operate at Cedar Point - Jumbo Jet (Amigoland, France) - Tornado (Selva Magica, Mexico) - Rode this with TPR last year, it runs great! Also, the one that used to operate at BGW - Tornado (Salitre Magico, Colombia) Source: RCDB
  11. I believe that's what Six Flags refers to as "theming" and "charm."
  12. I think it was Mantis at Cedar Point, but it could have been Raptor, too. It was back in 2002 when I had just hit that 54" height requirement.
  13. ^ Batwing's restraint always seemed to be looser to me than the other two Dutchmen. Maybe because SFA used to be a ghetto park?
  14. You know, hate on these rides all you want, but it would be a really interesting experience to visit an Iraqi theme park. It's not always about the credits, it's about experiencing another culture and their reaction to theme parks. For example, take Six Flags Mexico. You have an AWESOME Morgan Hyper coaster that's a walk-on all day long, but you have the WORST Boomerang in the world with a solid hour or two wait because the people there just love it. To me, that's the best part of visiting a foreign park.
  15. To each his own. I actually feel secure in the B&M restraints. Whereas the Dutchmen restraints make me feel like I'm riding a Chinese knock off.
  16. ^ I really like "Superman Goes Grocery Shopping." I think that would be an excellent dark ride to roll out across the chain. Shall we start with SFA?
  17. ^ I think I heard the Dippin' Dots guy say that they were going to repaint the parking spots underneath it.
  18. Your story of the ACEr on the ROS lift reminds me of a similar experience. I was at CoasterMania (07 or 08...I can't remember) at Cedar Point waiting in line for the front seat of Millennium Force. The guy behind us kept telling my friend and I how much he LOVED Wacky Worms. He was definitely an extremely strange person, even for an ACEr!
  19. Maybe boldikus is SFGAdv's only valued passholder?
  20. Probably Disaster Transport at Cedar Point. That was a great ride, and I was very sad to see it go.
  21. I never thought Thunderhawk was a terrible name (although using it for Dorney's woodie is bizarre), but they have overused the hawks. I hope Cedar Fair doesn't see these lists; it might give them more ideas!
  22. ^ That's a great summary of Batwing. I honestly thought I was going to fall out of it when I rode it. Although, it isn't the worst Dutchman, IMO. Nighthawk at Carowinds takes that cake.
  23. ^ Oh god, Flight Deck.... Only one of three coasters to leave me with a bruise. (Others are X2 and Howler)
  24. Am I the only one who thinks Boysenberry everything is excessive? The pie and the punch were okay, but the soft serve was one of the most disgusting things I've ever eaten. I get that they used to be a boysenberry farm, but come on.
  25. Let's see... (in no particular order) St. Louis Ninja, Son of Beast, NJ Green Lantern, Boss, both Primeval Whirls, LCSM, Boomerangs with Arrow trains, SLCs, mini SLCs, Villain, Raging Wolf Bobs, Pirate's Hideaway, Volares...the list goes on!
