Not just the kids... Thank you for sharing the video and pictures with us, looks like a great parade. Tokyo Disney Resort looks like such an amazing place! -
22 People injured on a Vekoma Boomerang

So it actually did become a single-car train going backwards through the inversions?? Wow, never saw that coming! -
22 People injured on a Vekoma Boomerang
viking86 replied to coasterschile's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To me that definitely sounds like the most logical explanation. I struggle to see how a single car would make it back through the circuit on its own. As for what will happen with all the other Boomerangs, I would assume that an inspection of the links between the cars should be sufficient. -

Great trip report, I would love to visit Pleasure Beach one day. I love that you can buy parts from rollercoasters, that is really awesome! -
#BanSelfieSticks - Help Us Spread The Word!
viking86 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I did notice quite a few during my visit to Orlando in September last year, including people using them on both Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. Seems like its increasingly getting worse. I can understand using them if you're standing at the very back and have a hard time seeing a show or a parade or something, but I just had a look at my Frozen Fireworks video and when Elsa comes on stage there is someone almost at the very front with a selfie stick up in the air and that's just plain stupid!!! -

Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
viking86 replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
Worst storm in 20 years hit today. Strong windgusts, airport closed, bridges closed, trees falling, people warned to not go outside. Over 20000 are without power. I was fortunate to only be without power for about 10 minutes during the worst period before it came back on. Others may have to wait until tomorrow. It has been calm for a couple of hours now so I decided to go for a short walk to see if any damage occured in the neighbourhood. Below you can see what I faced about 200 meters from my house. Similar scenes all through the region. There were also a couple of broken roof shingles laying just outside my front door, which was a bit scary thinking about what damage it could have done to a person. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Great video! Awesome to see how much the track and supports bend, you normally don't see this much in offride videos as they are usually recorded with handheld camera. If I were to offer any constructive criticism, there are some of the shots where it seems like the camera is not quite level. Other than that it was great! I've never been on Magnum (or any other Arrow hyper) so I cannot comment on the ride experience, but I have to agree with what others have said about the trains, they really are some of the coolest looking trains there are. -
Put me in the camp of those who really like Cheetah Hunt. Yes, their trio of B&M's are better coasters, but I have come to really appriciate the lesser intense coasters that are just pure fun. Also my tolerance for re-riding intense coasters has been somewhat reduced over the last few years, and then coasters like Cheetah Hunt are perfect. I can understand if it was marketed as the star coaster of the park, but it's not and with the other coasters that BGT have it helps balance the offerings of the park.

I was just talking to a close friend of mine from that area. According to local rumors they are aiming big and wants to be the biggest park in Norway. For comparison the current biggest amusementpark in Norway is Tusenfryd. There is also talk of a waterpark. Keep in mind this is not confirmed information, but coming from a small community I find the rumors quite trustworthy. I'm of course also very excited that ITEC Entertainment is doing the designwork for the park. Here is a link to the location on Google maps https://goo.gl/maps/CqfP5 From what I understand there are big plans for this area. Already there is a 18-hole golf course there, I marked it with blue circle on the picture below. Red square is the location for the park. As you can see there is a lot of available land in the area so neighbours should not be a problem. The road on the right is the main road between Bergen and Stavanger, the second and fourth largest cities in Norway.

Crazy how the color on Apocalypse has changed, looks a hell of a lot older than it is. How is it holding up in terms of roughness?? Hmmm now lets see if I can do this too... "Pocky" Oh come on, I had erased this from my mind last year, now I have to go through it again. So much for sleeping tonight...

Are Alpine Coasters credits?
viking86 replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I use RCDB as reference to my count + I count travelling rides that are "obviously rollercoasters". However I have pretty much stopped caring about my count and while I do add new credits to my coastercount account (I think I'm around 140), I will not go on any rides just to get the credit, and kiddie coasters I will walk straight past. When I go on a coaster its because I want to go on it, not because I need it on my list. Its the same with parks, I will not go to any parks to get a credit, I go to a park because I want to go there. -
This is the list of removed coasters I have ridden that have not been registered as relocated on RCDB. I will however count Cyclone at SFNE as the original ride experience will no longer be possible to experience. Sierra Tonante - Mirabilandia Rolling Thunder - SFGADV Great American Scream Machine - SFGADV High Speed Thrill Coaster - Knoebels Cyclone - SFNE Dragon - Tusenfryd Família Expressz - Holnemvolt Park Kukomotív - Holnemvolt Park Kålormen - Karolinelund

I wasn't really planning to go on any long trips this year, but now I have to put a maybe on a return trip to Orlando. I'm thinking about a possible trip in early May. From what I can tell it should be good for crowds and weather, and accomodation and flight tickets are cheap. We'll see, for now its mostly an idea after half an hour research.

I absolutely LOVED Frozen Fireworks at Hollywood Studios, and I'm so glad that they extended the Frozen Summer Fun events so that I got to experience it during my visit in September. Of the three fireworks shows that we watched, the other two being Wishes and Illuminations, Frozen fireworks was my favorite!

I think it needs more supports.... -
I have always thought the hat looked kinda cool in pictures, but I have to be honest and say that during my visit in September I didn't really notice the hat due to the stage being located right in front of it. I do think a relocation could be a good decision, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Europapark: Let it snow!
viking86 replied to Orici's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Fantastic pictures, its really awesome how Europa Park is open in the winter and even have several of the coasters operating. I also love the snow on the footpaths, I can imagine quite a lot of parks (particularly on the other side of the atlantic) closing all footpaths with snow on them due to being "unsafe". I have been twisting my brain lately to determine where to go next year as I will not have the cash for any long-duration trips, but I feel more and more that I really need to take a flight to southern Germany and visit Europa Park as it looks absolutely incredible! -

What's Your Coaster Philosophy?
viking86 replied to Coaster Cow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I used to be a coasterenthusiast, now I'm much more of a park enthusiast. For me atmosphere, theming, food and good service is as important as the rides. I guess thats why I fell in love with Disney so much. I also dont care much about coastercount any longer, I will not visit a park if its just to get a credit and I dont care about riding kiddie coasters. As others have said, its all about having fun. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
viking86 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is a well-known "fact" that once its announced that a ride will close it automatically becomes 10x better (which for Gwazi would still mean a fairly crappy ride...)
