  1. Great trip report! All the food looks amazing. I would absolutely love to go on a proper cruise!
  2. That is one great looking... errr, coastertrain I guess??
  3. Watched The Lego Movie as it was just released on Netflix. I really enjoyed this movie, dare I say it was.... awesome?? Really well made and exceeded my expectations. Spaceship! Spaceship! Spaceship!
  4. eBay. Considering the reactions when the ride closed theres probably people who would pay money for them...
  5. Ooooohhhh exciting! Where do you think they put all those Norwegian flags?
  6. I rode Gwazi for the first time in September and I'm not surprised one bit to see the ride closing. It was terrible and one ride was more than enough. If they tear it down they will have a huge space of land to expand the park into.
  7. That drop looks like it could be amazing in the backseat, with the combination of airtime and lateral G-forces. The small bunnyhop also looks fantastic!
  8. That is definately the same layout as X-flight. Shame the picture is too small for the text to be readable. I'm not going to put too much into it yet though until anything is official, it could be that they just chose a random coaster layout to put into the map as a concept. And I stand by what I have previously said that I am somewhat skeptical if this will happen at all, and if it does I'm not expecting something spectacular based on the figures that have been given so far. We'll see, as it is now I can only be positively surprised.
  9. According to the parks website the park is scheduled to open spring 2018, but news articles posted in the last few days still says 2017. I'd say that 2018 sounds far more realistic, I don't see construction starting until spring next year earliest and 2 years just seems to little time to build a full amusement park. One of the news articles included a map which I have not seen posted before. There appears to be two rollercoasters visible, but its too small to determine any details and I don't know how if its official or its still in the concept stage.
  10. The supports on Great Bear is a different variant of excisting support types. The ones on the lift on Baron will be completely unique judging from the concept art. Will be really interesting to see how it turns out!
  11. I consider queuing a part of the social experience when visiting a park, therefore I prefer to keep my phone in my pocket and simply talk to the people I'm with.
  12. Can we get Anna and Elsa instead? Please please please please please please please please please please!!!! No seriously, this is great news! Its only about a 2 hours journey from Bergen, so it will be the closest thing I've ever had to a homepark. Still kinda have my doubts about how it will turn out, but fingers crossed!
  13. Viking at sea!
  14. Maya, one of the two cats at my parents house. Picture taken and edited by my mother.
  15. Nice pictures, looks like a great event! Does the SeaWorld Monopoly come with a card that says "There are protesters outside your park, the public are ignorantly buying it, attendance is dropping" and you loose money??
  16. This documentary started it all for me. My parents recorded it off TV and I must have watched it a million times since. I don't know excactly when I first watched it, but the newest coaster featured is Dragon Kahn in the intro and that ride opened in 95, so I must have been around 10 years old. Funny thing is I was addicted to rollercoasters for years before I even rode a proper one, which happened as late as 2002. This documentary still holds a very special place in my heart.
  17. Revenge of the Mummy at Universal Studios Florida was great fun when I rode it in september, really enjoyed this ride. Another pleasent surprise for me at Universal was Transformers: The Ride 3D. Holy crap, I had no idea a simulator ride could be this spectacular. This ended up being one of my favorite rides of the entire visit to Orlando. I don't know if it was because I have not been on many simulator rides or not, but I was absolutely blown away by this ride!!!
  18. I'd say both. I visited the park in 2005 with the European Coaster Club so its been a long time, but I remember it as being crazy intense, crazy fun and crazy violent in certain spots. I rode it 35+ times that day and left the park with a major bruise on my left hip/thigh. As I have gotten a little older I'm not sure if I would enjoy it as much today, but back then it was one of my favorite coasters.
  19. That is one spectacular looking drop, should provide a great ride. Heck, looking at the webcam is making me excited and I will most likely never ever ride this thing,
  20. Woke up to the first snow of the winter yesterday. Didn't last long, all was gone by the end of the day. Today the weathers been cloudy with a couple of degrees above freezing, but from tomorrow it looks like we have some rather crappy weather incoming.
  21. This list was very difficult to put together because it has been such a long time since I rode some of the coasters, but I think it looks something like this. I also out in the year when I rode the coasters. 1) Katun (2005) 2) Chinese Fireball (2014) 3) Montu (2014) 4) Hungarian Horntail (2014) 5) Batman la Fuga (2003) Honorable mentions go to: Great Bear (2008) Batman; The Ride SFGADV (2008) Nemesis Inferno (2005)
  22. I don't have a homepark, but the closest park which offers anything in the thrill department is Tusenfryd which is a 300 miles drive away. For the last decade I'm probably averaging on visiting the park once every two years.
  23. While nowhere near on the same level, this reminds me of a small incident I experienced at SFGADV back in 2008. Me and a friend spent two days at the park, and at the start of the second day we decided to get some footage of Kingda Ka from the parking lot so we walked over to the ride before heading into the park. I had a video camera and my friend had a photo camera. Within minutes a security pulled over and told us we couldn't take pictures of the ride. When we asked why the answer was "It's policy". Towards the end of the second day I was filming some offride footage of Batman when a security guard walked over to me and said I could not film the ride, only take pictures. Definately one of the strangest park policies I've ever experienced. What made it even stranger was that I had been using my videocamera for two days getting offride footage of all the rides without anyone reacting. It does make me think that this was a single security guard who had seriously misunderstood the rules. Either way, not knowing if he could force me to delete almost two days worth off footage I decided not to go into any arguments and quietly put away my camera.
  24. A colleague gave me two bottles of homemade beer yesterday. Heavy stuff, no bubbles. Definately not for drinking fast in large amounts.
  25. ^I have to agree with you about Cheetah Hunt, I definately enjoyed that ride more than I expected. A ride doesn't always have to be very intense, sometimes just pure fun is enough.
