  1. Awesome report! This looks like so much fun, I would love to go on a cruise like this!
  2. I'm thankful for not having a single amusement park anywhere near where I live... oh wait.. On a more serious note, I'm extremely thankful for having had the opportunity to experience Walt Disney World in September this year. It was truly a trip of a lifetime, and for me the Disney magic is very much real. Rides, service, food, fireworks, everything was excellent! I'm thankful for the positive comments I have received on my trip report and videos, and getting a little attention from Robb himself as "the actual Norwegian who rode Maelstrom". https://twitter.com/ThemeParkReview/status/524711800600657923/photo/1
  3. I visited IoA in september and Chinese Fireball was smooth as glass, even in the backseat. Hungarian Horntail had a very small rattle, but still very smooth. Incredible Hulk had somewhat more of a rattle to it..
  4. I remember when visiting Mirabilandia back in 2005 they were running two trains on Katun. One of the trains gave super-smooth rides, while the other one had a quite significant rattle. While other rides may be more consistent when it comes to rattling, a lot of it comes down to individual train maintenance.
  5. Great pictures, Liseberg looks fantastic with the Christmas decorations. I'm kicking myself for not visiting Liseberg this year, but I'm definately going next year to check out Helix, and of course see once again the rest of this amazing park!
  6. I rode it in september and thought it was an okay ride. Not super-smooth by any means, but I enjoyed all my rides on it. Definately better in the front seat though.
  7. Another thumbs up for the new format from me. I wasn't really that interested in the long interviews in previous years (I guess my attention span really is super-short), but this year I have been following absolutely everything!
  8. Here are my 'main' achievements from the top of my mind. First coaster: Kålormen @ Tivoliland, Denmark First "adult" coaster: Speed Loop (Pinfari ZL42) @ Lunds Tivoli (travelling fair, Norway) First looping coaster: Same as above First wooden coaster: Thundercoaster @ Tusenfryd, Norway First Vekoma: Loopen @ Tusenfryd, Norway First B&M: Batman la Fuga @ Parque Warner, Spain First Intamin: Kanonen @ Liseberg, Spain First GCI: Thunderbird @ PowerLand, Finland First GG: Twister @ Gröna Lund, Sweden First CCI: Boulder Dash @ Lake Compounce, USA First Schwarzkopf: Lisebergbanan @ Liseberg, Sweden First Gerstlauer: Vilda Musen @ Gröna Lund, Sweden Favorite wooden coaster: El Toro @SFGADV Favorite steel coaster: Storm Runner @ Hershey Park
  9. Definately not a beatiful thing so far, though I will reserve my final judgement until the ride is complete. However, that is one intimidating looking drop so far. There are not many rollercoasters that are able to raise my pulse before riding, but I would definately be nervous before riding this one.
  10. That place is amazing! I would love to visit, at the same time I fear that I would suffer a serious case of "leg shakes" on some of those walkways! Fantastic pictures!
  11. I love seeing pictures from all these parks I know absolutely nothing about. I also never knew that Zamperla made motocoasters with lifthills. Looks pretty fun though! And of course being somewhat of a train guy, I really enjoy seeing the pictures of the Chinese bullet trains and the stations.
  12. Those snow pictures are some of the most beatiful coaster pictures I have ever seen.
  13. I can only agree with what everyone else have said so far, this ride looks far more impressive than I had ever imagined. I would be seriously excited to go on this, and there are not that many coasters that are able to generate that feeling for me.
  14. Had to stretch my memory a bit on this one, but I think this list is accurate. 2005: Kanonen - Liseberg Wild Train - Strasswalchen Sequoia Adventure - Gardaland Leprotto Express - Mirabilandia 2006: Speedmonster - Tusenfryd 2007: Kirnu - Linnanmäki Kvasten - Gröna Lund 2008: Dark Knight - Six Flags Great Adventure Fahrenheit - Hersheypark 2011: Twister - Gröna Lund Atmosfear - Liseberg 2014: Falcon's Fury - Busch Gardens Tampa Seven Dwarfes Mine Train - Magic Kingdom
  15. Great pictures! Big Grizzly Mountain looks stunning at night.
  16. I'll keep that in mind for 2016...
  17. Did a little googling to see if there was any progress on this project. From the info I could find, it is still three locations up for discussion. One of the proposed locations is rather spectacular, see top left of picture below. And here is a large version of the concept art for an awesome looking log flume. I have to be honest, I'm not holding my breath for this project. Yes, it will be located between the second and fourth largest cities in Norway, but still were talking about very small populations on an international scale. On a positive note there are hundreds of thousands of tourists coming to the west coast of Norway in the summer season. We'll see, a theme park might work, but until we get something official I'm not expecting something really big or spectacular. Fingers crossed though, it's only a few hours drive from where I live and it would be awesome to actually have something I could call a homepark...
  18. Wow that is the most extreme padding I've ever seen on any sort of ride restraints. Looks like it's much needed though. Love following this TR, looking forward to the next update.
  19. Disney all decorated for Christmas looks fantastic! I definately agree that it looks better with a clear, unobstructed view of the castle. Wish I was there...
  20. Awesome trip report so far, love seeing all these pictures from parks you normally don't hear much about. Happy Valley looks like an excellent park, except the poor operations. Really funny to see a viking themed area in China, but it looks great!
  21. Yup looks great, really like the color! Will be interesting to see the color of the trains, I think some bright green or yellow would look great! But judging from the logo I wouldn't be surprised to see something darker...
  22. Really want to see this movie, so slightly upset that it's 83 days until it's released in Norwegian theaters.
  23. That looks absolutely terryfying!! It does make me wonder what the designers are thinking when they build these rides...
  24. Great video! I want to be at Disney so bad right now. Why oh why does it have to be so far away??
