Achoo!!! With the amount of snot and goo coming out of my nose at the moment I'm starting to wonder if it's only a cold I have, or if someone is currently performing an exorcism on me...

At first glance I thought the layout looked somewhat bland, but after a little thinking and looking at aerial photos of Twisted Twins I have come to the conclusion that the layout is actually pretty good. I blame the poor first impression on the terrible NL video. No doubt this will be a big hit for KK.

What defunct park intrigues you the most?

Cool pictures, thanks for sharing. Big Dipper really looked a lot better when it was painted white. -
Robb & Elissa in Japan - 2015!
viking86 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Always so much fun to read these trip reports from Japan. There is always something interesting. I'm intrigued by the paratrooper/scrambler ride, any video of it in action? I assume you went for the Anna dress... (Olaf looks like he's melting btw) -

I kinda hope for no inversions, the ride will be just as fun without any. Look at Cheetah Hunt, IMO the inversion adds nothing to the ride. -

Awesome, looks like its really starting to come together nicely! Every time I see pictures from this park I'm amazed at the level of detail put into the theming. Thanks for sharing! -

In Norway there has been an explosion of microbreweries in recent years, which means there are so many exciting beers to taste. The name of this one translates to "Uncle in America" and was a rather tasty IPA.

Shanghai Disney Resort Discussion Thread
viking86 replied to Dr Freeze's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Oh really?? Anyway, there surely are enough people in Shanghai to keep the park busy at all times. I don't know how popular these things are with the Chinese though. Earlier this year I asked some colleagues in our Shanghai office if they were excited about Disney opening a park in their city. They had no idea what I was talking about... But I guess its safe to say it will be advertised quite heavily as it gets closer to opening! -
If Pinfari would have survived...
viking86 replied to fraroc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If they had survived there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to build decent coasters by now. From what I have heard their latest coasters were quite alright (Mini Mega and SLC). But of course no, they would not be competing with the largest companies, but I could easily see them establishing themselves as a supplier of good quality kiddie and family coasters. -

I really like the look of the hub, very refreshing indeed to see that they have been creative with that area. It also looks like they have really had huge crowds in mind with the large outer ring. Will for sure be very interesting to follow the development of this park, the artwork looks fantastic! -

Wildfire @ Kolmården, very excited for the first RMC in Europe. -

If they made a Discover Channel documentary about the construction of this ride, this is the point where they would go "If they cannot get the support fixed and have the ride ready by opening day, the entire XXX million euros investment could go to waste". Fortunately this is being built in the real world and will be solved without any problems or drama.... -
Your first Arrow Dynamics coaster
viking86 replied to stashua123's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Either Great American Scream Machine or Runaway Mine Train at Six Flags Great Adventure, I cannot remember which one I rode first (this was back in 2008). These being 2 of 3 Arrows I have ridden, the last one was Trailblazer at Hersheypark. Coincidally I have also ridden 3 Vekoma coasters with Arrow trains. -
Fantawild Construction
viking86 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They sure are busy, with 4 wooden coasters opening in China this year. It's not often you see coaster manufacturers build this many major rollercoasters at the same time. Will be interesting to see the layout, I like that they all have different layouts. -
Disneyland Paris (DLP) Discussion Thread
viking86 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Oh my, that looks hideous! It does NOT look like something I would like to eat (though as you said the taste is probably fine). I haven't been to DLP so I cannot comment on how much this area of the park has improved, but either way it looks great! Maybe I'll take the trip down to Paris one day... -
Thanks for sharing! Harambe Marketplace looks fantastic, so does the food! Really fits in well with the rest of Animal Kingdom. I can undoubtly say that AK is the best themed park I have ever been to (if you disregard the stupid dino-carnival area). Some well deserved attention for Yak & Yeti as well, it provided us with the best meal of our entire trip last year. Oh, and I want that T-shirt...

Many old Vekoma/Arrow coasters have extremely tight clearances, for example in the entry/exit of the vertical loops, but on those it doesn't matter as it's impossible to reach out of the trains. I must also say that the supports on Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom seems to be very close. Well, those you can see anyway, most of them are hidden in the darkness. And talking about close encounter with trees, last year I was riding Kumba with my arms up and smacked my hand against some branches on the left side of the train climbing into the dive loop.

Nagashima Spa Land Discussion Thread

Looks good, this will undoubtly be a crowd pleaser! Looks a bit strange though being all out in the open compared to Manta, which has a lot of vegetation around the ride. But it looks like they have planted quite a bit of trees around the ride so I'm sure that view will change over time. Btw, anyone else love the design of the zero car??
