Don't hold your breath, I would not be surprised if the ride remains closed for the entire season. -

Rain, rain, rain, rain.... I think for the last 2 weeks we have had maybe one full day of sun if you add it all up! No sight of summer yet, it's going to be crap for at least another week... *sigh* -

That is correct, up until 2006 (RCDB). I have heard nothing but horror stories about this ride! -

Maybe, but it gave me some of the most memorable rides of my entire trip! The Peoplemover will forever hold a special place in my heart. That is a highly accurate description of that evening! So much fun.... -

Day 7 - EPCOT and Magic Kingdom For day 7 I didn’t have any specific plans. Well, until the evening the day before when I got the following text message from Robb: “Garbles is in town tomorrow night. I made some FP at MK if you want to go.” And with that I suddenly had plans for this day as well. The meetup wasn’t until the evening, which I was fairly happy pleased with, because my feet were in dire need of some rest. I spent the first hours of the day in the apartment at the resort, getting a good breakfast, doing some laundry and watching some football (thats soccer for you Americans, match was between Chelsea - Liverpool if anyone feels the need to know). Around 2 PM I ran out of patience and headed out. I decided to head to EPCOT first. Spent a couple of hours at the park, did multiple single-rider laps on Test Track and also took a lap around World Showcase before heading up to Magic Kingdom to meet up with the group for the evening. (thanks to Robb for providing most of the pictures from Magic Kingdom this evening) Here I am back at EPCOT for some more Flower & Garden festival. EPCOT fountain doing its thing... Did several single-rider laps on Test Track. I love this ride, so much fun! And as I have stated previously, the single-rider line moves superfast due to the 3-across seating. Chevrolet concept car. Another beautiful day around the World Showcase Lagoon. Snow White was out meeting guests in Germany. Quick food-stop in Japan. This thing had some chicken stuff inside if I remember correctly. Quite tasty! Beautiful France! I ended up taking a lot of World Showcase Lagoon pictures on this trip Alice greeting guests in Britain EPCOT is so beautiful that you feel you never get enough pictures of it. SERIOUSLY!!! There was no way I was going to pass by these two without stopping! And with that I would say my final goodbye to EPCOT for this trip. Love this park so much and I will definitely be back in the future! I headed directly from EPCOT up to Magic Kingdom. Hello castle! Met up with the group and instant silliness occured! When you forget your space goggles you have to improvise. (Pssst Tom, the camera is on this side) Went for a ride on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. I’m very focused, Tom looks beyond bored... ...and these two guys?? Well.....yeah, not sure what words to put here! We decided to be very brave and go on Peoplemover again. The outcome was inevitable... . IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!! “Hello Periscope viewers, we are stuck on Peoplemover again” The whole group! I now have a 67% “getting-stuck rate” on Peoplemover. No evacuation this time though, we were going again within 10 minutes. Went for a ride on Splash Mountain and saw a whole lot of Brer Bear Butt which left us all mentally scared for life! Big Thunder Mountain at night is awesome! It’s a completely different ride compared to during the day. Riding Big Thunder Mountain at night during Wishes?? UNFORGETTABLE! Time for some more Space Mountain. Got my space goggles on now. You can never be too cool for space! (or as Robb is demonstrating, too silly) “It sure is dark in space”. (what the hell is going on behind me?) “No Robb, don’t eat the strangers”. We all love Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! So much fun!!! Best thing to do after park closing? Laying on the grass of course... Jake approves of the grass! This might have been the only normal picture taken all evening! Look at all these people! Not quite sure what’s going on here.... Is this better? And finally we once again say goodnight to Magic Kingdom, this time with a nice view of Space Mountain from the monorail. -

Great report so far! Love the night pictures of CP, must have been a magical experience to arrive to that view. Oh, and Phantoms Revenge has been very high on my bucket list for many years now, great to hear its still kicking ass! -

KMG knows how to make good-looking rides. In my opinion Move It 32 is the best looking fair ride there is, and the lighing package is a big part of it. By the way, am I correct that KMG only built one of this ride?? -

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I'm having a blast writing it, and there's plenty of more fun to come! This sounds just like my dad whenever he comes home from the states! When you live in one of the most expensive countries in the world it almost doesn't matter where you go, you're almost guaranteed it will be cheaper... -

Day 6 - Islands of Adventure & Universal Studios After seeing so many girls in one evening I was totally exhausted, so what better way to recover than to do both Universal parks on a Saturday. This day was an official Nolimits Exchange meetup (official group picture 11 posts down on this page ). I took almost no pictures this day, so no full trip report. But I will give a quick summary of how our day was. We met up around 10:00-10:30 AM in Citywalk and headed to IoA first. I’m not going to list everything we did or in correct order, just whatever pops into my mind as I write this. - Hulk was running okay to me. It is a bit shaky in some spots, but not painful in any way. Many rumors about the ride getting an extensive overhaul, so it will be interesting to see what the future will bring. With the exception of a somewhat weak ending, it has a great and very fun layout! We also got to experience the launch with no sound effects, which was pretty cool as the launch came without warning. - Got a great view of the new King Kong construction, this thing is going to be massive! - Skipped the water rides. Didn’t feel like getting soaked... - Dragon Challenge is incredible. Smooth and extremely intense. Would love to experience dueling on this ride. - The Harry Potter rides at both parks are cool, but in the end they don’t do that much for me. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the rides even if I’m not a Potter fan, and I love the themed areas at both parks. Still I much prefer Spiderman and Transformers. - Poseidon’s Fury was pretty fun, hadn’t done this before. We decided to head out to Citywalk for lunch at the Cowfish. This place was fantastic! Great food, excellent service and at least for a Norwegian the prices were very nice as well. - Over at Studios we watched the Horror Makeup Show while letting the food sink. Was pretty fun! - Got a great view of the course for American Ninja Warrior. - Mummy is still an awesome ride! - Watched Twister from the control room, that was pretty cool! Also fun to get a close-up watch of all the props revert to their original position. - We didn’t manage to do Transformers, Men in Black and Rockit as the day was coming to an end and we were getting somewhat tired, but we watched the Cinematic Spectacular nighttime show at Studios, which was pretty cool. No, it’s not on the same level as Disney, but I enjoyed it and thought it was pretty well done. A good ending to a great day! Overall it was a very good day at Universal. We managed to get a hell of a lot done in a day, and considering I visited the parks last year I wasn’t really bothered about missing out on a few rides. As previously stated I didn’t really take any pictures, but here are a few random ones just to have something in this report. The Incredible Hulk is a visually stunning rollercoaster! The new King Kong ride is starting to look fantastic! This thing is massive! And finally here’s a picture of a T-Rex, just because it’s the bestest, most awesome dinosaur there is! -

Looks great! I haven't followed the construction of this ride very closely so it was fun to watch the POV without really knowing the layout in advance. Should be a fantastic addition to PowerPark! -

If so I would rephrase it to "Viking86 meets Elsa.... and some other less important ladies." But seriously I'm still amazed at how much we did that evening, Robb and Tom didn't arrive until a little after 8 PM and we probably spent close to an hour in total on the Peoplemover. -

So bizarre to see scrapped coastertrack with the train still on it. Cannot recall having seen that before... -
Just some quick news from today. They are hoping to have the financial plan ready by the end of this month, with the financing completed by Christmas. They are still looking for someone to run the actual park, and they are looking for someone with a lot of international experience of running similar themeparks. Planned date for opening is still unknown. Link (Norwegian only): http://tvh.no/2015/05/26/vikingland-finansieringsplan-sluttfort-i-mai/ My view is still the same, I'll believe it when I see it...

New theme park for Turkey, Ankapark.
viking86 replied to _koppen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That is a ridicilous line-up of coasters indeed! Did they blow their entire budget on the Intamin coaster so that the only way to get a high coaster count was to buy the cheapest rollercoasters possible?? -

I know, I feel terrible about it! Must be something in the drinking fountains at Disney that makes all the girls irresistible... be sure though, I will never give up fighting for Elsa. So if you ever thought you could relax, think again! I'm working very hard on the lottery thing, but for some reason it's not going very well so far... -

After getting some food and a little rest back at the resort I headed once again up to Magic Kingdom to meet up with Robb and Tom, for what would become another incredible night at Magic Kingdom. Hightlights of the night would include getting to see Space Mountain with lights on, getting stuck on Peoplemover and meeting a lot of girls!!! Back at Magic Kingdom for the evening! Compulsory Main Street/Castle shot. What do you do when you have an hour to spare while waiting for the other people to arrive? Lay down on the grass of course... Grass, castle and sunset. Does it get any better?? As it got closer to 8 PM they closed off the grass to prepare it for firework FP+ viewing area. The view towards Tomorrowland at sunset. Our original plan was to start using our fastpass on Space Mountain, but as it was broken down we quickly moved over to ride Peoplemover and got some great views of Space Mountain with lights on. Credit goes to Robb for all the Space Mountain pictures as mine turned out as complete crap! You don’t get this view too often. Such a giant mess of steel! Since we got on Peoplemover to look at broken-down Space Mountain, it was only fitting that Peoplemover broke down right after. Tom and Robb are very happy to be stuck... ...and so was I When you’re stuck on Peoplemover there isn’t really a whole lot to do. You can take pictures of random trash... ...or you can start a 30 minute live stream on Periscope. Alexa (??) became the star of the live stream. Eventually we got evacuated. I don’t remember for how long we were stuck, but it must have been a good 30-40 minutes. But we did get an extra fastpass for our suffering... At this point I think we did a night ride on Big Thunder Mountain (this is a must for anyone, it’s crazy at night) before we watched Wishes from Fantasyland, which is a great place to watch the fireworks. Low crowd level, fireworks on two sides and overall really close to the action. Wishes blah blah blah... I cannot remember at what point during the evening we rode Barnstormer, so I thought this would be a fitting place to throw in this picture. As you can see I am very excited to ride! Tom also looks fairly happy to be on a Vekoma kiddie coaster. Then it was time for me and Robb to play armored knights in Enchanted Tales with Belle. (thanks to Tom for providing the pictures) Don’t I look handsome in my shining armor?? Somewhere in this picture there is an adult male... WOW!!! Belle was very impressed by her knight in shining armor. Oh yes, definitely impressed! Happy boys! “So Elsa, you wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with the fact that it was snowing back home this morning?” Elsa says no, but she’s clearly looking away so I’m not so sure... “See Elsa, I bought the summer magic band. Summer is good, okay? No more snow please. “Oh what the hell! I don’t care if you made it snow back home, I still love you Elsa!!!” Meeting Anna is always a lot of fun!! Time to head under the sea! Not quite sure what Ariel has been taking here, but judging by her face she has definitely taken enough of it... (again thanks to Robb for providing the pictures from this ride) Same with these fishes, they are just way too happy... Yup, it’s obvious that life under the sea is just one big party!! Ariel seems to be enjoying this! Who doesn’t love a close encounter with a real half-naked Ariel? Big thanks to Stacey (hope I got the name correct) for hanging out with us during the evening and joining us for a ride on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding ding! Hi hoooooooooooooo! This ride is so much fun! This ride is so much fun! (didn’t I just say that??) And we once again say good night to Magic Kingdom after a truly wonderful and magical evening! After meeting so many girls I was totally exhausted and needed to relax by doing both Universal parks the following day.... -

Day 5 - Part 1 - Disney’s Animal Kingdom Day 5 would bring another amazing evening at Magic Kingdom, but first I would spend a few hours at Animal Kingdom. There are many mixed opinions of this park, and I’m not even quite sure myself what to think of it. It’s a beautiful park, but it just seems to lack something. I consider myself an animal person, but after spending a few hours looking at animals last year there wasn't really any big need to repeat it. Please don’t get me wrong, I do like the park, but I do think it really needs the new additions it's getting over the coming years. I’m really looking forward to see how it will be with Avatarland and the new nighttime show. Okay, onto the pictures... Today I started the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It was nice to see the Tree of Life without construction walls all around it Started the day with a ride on Dinosaur, which was walk-on. The ride was fun. Saw many dinosaurs that were “Not our Dino”. Moving onto my least favorite area in all of Walt Disney World. Rode this one last year, no need to ride again. I get the idea behind this area, but it to me it doesn’t work at all and it just ends up feeling rushed and cheap. Moving on to beautiful Africa. Drummers and dancers... I didn’t go on the safari this time as I did it last year and didn’t feel like waiting 30+ minutes in line, but if you like animals I highly reccomend doing it. I thought it was really good last time. Didn’t feel like getting wet either today... Watched the bird show, which I thought was good. Okay, some of the stuff happening on stage was beyond cheesy, but overall I liked the show. Time for Expedition Everest, one of the best rides of Walt Disney World. Love the theming in the queue line for Everest. This is a good place to get rid of coins. Expedition Everest is smooth, fast, has great theming and is overall a ton of fun. (no bird on a stick though) The gorillas gave the audience a great show. The big one turned its back against the crowd and took a crap, while the little one was facing the crowd and just sat there pulling its penis. Then they both wandered off... Time for an upclose view of Tree of Life. This truly is a piece of art. The details are incredible. Wherever you go you keep finding new animals.v Stunning! I’ll end this report with a picture showing the beauty of Animal Kingdom. I’m really excited to see the new additions over the coming years, because while I do like the park, I cannot help but not feeling fully satisfied when leaving the park. After leaving AK I went back to the resort for a couple of hours of rest before meeting up with Robb and Tom for what would become another amazing night at Magic Kingdom!
