  1. And those who get caught with a selfie-stick on the ride, ram it up their @$$!!!
  2. Having been to Universal myself a couple of months ago I definitely agree that metal detectors does take away from the pleasure of going on the rides.
  3. Obviously there should have been signs telling people to read the warning signs...
  4. Same here! While recent screenshots have been showing a lot of improvement, these are the first screenshots to really make me interested in this project. Now I'm actually excited to see more!
  5. I get what you mean. We have seen some very good examples of that in the amusement industry, with some very lengthy ride closures after accidents in Japan.
  6. ^^That first picture is incredible! I thought the rockwork was starting to get a bit repitive, but the wooden ladders and platforms helps break it up. And I'm sure more details are to be added as well, maybe some vegetation to make it look even better. But it already looks stunning! I must go down to Germany next year!!!
  7. It sure was amusing to read through. Also interesting to see the big bouncy thingy (I don't know what it's called). We have a lot of them in Scandinavia (as you have already documented very well through your various trip report here on TPR), but it's cool to see it also in Japan. I guess Japan is another of those countries where you are actually responsible for your own actions....
  8. Very nice! The 4th last picture shows quite well the imperfections you were talking about, but it still looks awesome and I totally want one!
  9. ^^That looks great! I would love to see more pictures, particularly of the rides. What day are you going? I might be in the area around your visit, a meet-up could be fun.
  10. That looks awesome! How is the surface of the model?
  11. Was that corkscrew particularly bad compared to the rest of the ride, since that was the only part modified? Or was there any other reasons on addition to roughness?
  12. I don't have a home park. The closest one is Kongeparken, which is about 4 1/2 hours away by car. However it's a small family park so I have never bothered to visit. The closest major park is Tusenfryd, which is about 7 hours away by car. This is also the only park which has a slight 'home park feel' to it, though I only visit on average about once every second year. To answer the question in the topic title, no it's not my favorite park. It's far from a bad park, I would call it a quite average park, but there are many parks above it on my list of favorite parks.
  13. The vertical loop would most probably be an issue, the clearance on the entry and exit is very tight. I think this goes for the vertical loops on all Arrow coasters. Talking specifically about Anaconda, I would say that the tunnel also looks quite tight on the sides, and there are also some supports between the loop and the sidewinder that looks very close to the track. This is a bit hard to judge from video though.
  14. Nice pictures! I don't really know much about Silverwood except the rollercoasters, but it looks like a nice park. I really like the look of the signs pointing to the different rides, a simple touch but very effective.
  15. But we have read about waterslides on the internet, doesn't that make us experts?? Joking aside, I think it's safe to assume they are there for a reason. In addition to any practical reasons, I think it will also add visual interest for the riders as you change from going through narrow tubes to open turns and vice versa.
  16. This ride looks like so much fun, should be a great addition to the park!
  17. I think it's an optical illusion, I came across another picture showing the helicopter much closer to the ground in front of the drop (above the tunnel). Having seen some of the crazy stuff these air ambulance pilots do in tight spots, I didn't really think about it much, but I guess I got fooled on this one...
  18. Those are some fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing! Love the night pictures with all the lights on the rides. The sunrise pictures are stunning as well.
  19. Awesome report, really enjoying it so far! I can only second this. I absolutely LOVED Thomas the Tank Engine when I was a child, so many great memories! So awesome that you can go see the actual set from the series! I will be "someone" and say that RCDB says you are wrong. Is there really any competition?
  20. ^Cheetah Hunt being converted to Aquatrax confirmed!!!
  21. Looks like there is some good news, according to the newspapers it looks like he will keep his leg. Tusenfryd have not been required by authorities to close the ride, but they have chosen to keep it closed until all internal evaluations are done. On a semi-related note I have to share this picture from the news. It's no secret that ambulance pilots are extremely skilled pilots who have to navigate and land in extremely tight spots, and this is no exception! How's this for some bad-ass piloting?? Picture source
  22. ^Of course I haven't. And while we're at it I think Lisebergbanan deserves a little mention too...
  23. As it looks now I will visit Liseberg in about 3 weeks, either 22nd or 23rd of August. Really looking forward to try Helix for the first time.
  24. If it was a dry slide with wheels on the capsule I might do it. But just the thought of being strapped in a capsule, unable to move and with water coming in all around you, is seriously unnerving...
  25. I haven't been to the park in a couple of years so I cannot recall the operator procedures for this ride. However I have seen a videoclip (unrelated to the accident) with one operator standing on the platform on the left side, close to the front of the boat as it's dispatching. There are no obstructions between the operator in this area and the edge of the platform. They have not provided much details about the accident, but the story that the operator misstepped off the platform is definitely plausible. Then of course we can discuss if the operator should be required to be behind barriers when boats are moving at the platform, but I guess we'll have to wait for the accident report for that...
