  1. Because politics. What is the meaning of life on Mars?
  2. I'm assuming it's a tighter and steeper curve than a typical turn on a slide. There's a side-view of it posted to Twitter here:
  3. ^Thanks for sharing those photos. It's nice seeing fresh-new rides come to the park with this and the Air Race. Speaking of which, Beech Bend announced today that they will be adding a brand new ProSlide water slide complex to Splash Lagoon, complete with four inner-tube slides each with special elements to them. Source For those of you not familiar with the FlyingSAUCER concept, it was first introduced on Singha water slide at Siam Park in Spain.
  4. I would agree that some kiddie coasters could go without lap bars, but considering Pepsi Orange Streak's harsh braking and KK's Roller Skater being a good 15 to 20 feet above a deep pit, I'm almost thankful they have something to brace on to.
  5. How have B&M's with onboard audio faired anyways? They look like they have really big seatbacks which would block a lot of the view for those sitting in back rows. And do the trains run their courses any different from those without them (more speed, more drag, can't hear the audio, etc.)?
  6. If it ain't broke don't fix it If it aint enjoyable, please reconsider.
  7. Voyage takes my top pick, even with the introduction of Thunderbird slightly lighting the route half-way towards the spaghetti bowl. Also, the amount of darkness mixed with the speed of intimidator 305 during nighttime ERT at 2012 East Coast Bash was pretty scary.
  8. Some parks take into account enthusiasts' input more than others. Holiday World has shown multiple examples of that in multiple ways. Does it mean their opinions matter? Not really, but it never hurts to acknowledge when someone points out reasonable issues that the park(s) may have overlooked and could address. Having said that, though, I would never ever recommend ANY park to rely solely on the enthusiast community's opinions to further their park. While they might prove to be a strong supporting leg for the park(s), they make up just a small fraction of the people that actually attend the park. The example earlier in this thread involving the Voyage trim brakes fiasco is a VERY good example, in my opinion.
  9. Mine switches constantly, so I can't stick with just one, but these usually come back to the top for me: "Stare at the Sun" - Thrice "CAFO" - Animals as Leaders "Piercing The Fog" - The Blizzard "Greece 2000" - Three Drives (on a Vinyl)
  10. Sometimes I feel like I'm defending my home park way too much... But then I remember what I've seen when it was shuddered, and I compare it with where it is now... I also remember that it's my home park, and I can support it as much as I d***-well please and encourage anyone else to do so for their own home park(s) if they want. Just don't go overboard with it...
  11. Crittenden Drive bordering the park is pretty much a concrete jungle with some industrial facilities across the street (i.e., I park in Pepsi's parking lot to get those panoramas from across the street). The track on this coaster is literally the most visually striking aspect along the road with its shapes and bright color. Ironically enough, Storm Chaser sits right next to the most heavily forested area of the entire park along with Mile High Falls. But like mentioned by neil009, the landscaping team has been doing a pretty decent job these few years in adding some greenery all over the park where needed and allowing it to grow over time.
  12. I said before that I thought the terrain editing tool was funky, but wow! Source and more images.
  13. That thing looks massive and futuristic, and I'm glad one actually found a home! I'm sure the experience is quite disorienting!
  14. Video was fake
  15. Modular Building Time Lapse (Scenery Placement, guests walking paths.) Terrain Editing Time Lapse (Super-funky terrain tool, and placing down one flat ride!)
  16. Didn't know my space heater was on temperature control, so I idiotically took it as a circuit breaker flipping off the wall outlet it was plugged into. Didn't realize the truth until one real mistake was made later...
  17. From a look on the morning of December 19 They finished connecting the track pieces between the station and the lift hill (and yes, it did look like some small laterals will be present ), they added catwalks to the lifthill, and removed the wood behind the fence revealing the bottom of the ride from street view! There's always work going on for the ride, just in different areas at a time.
  18. I like that they've announced they're doing relatively small phases instead of planting a large single thing down all at once. I hope all goes smoothly for them in the long-run.
  19. I can echo this. Most of the times you guys did past tours were when I had other life responsibilities get in the way (or not enough money). But it is certainly one of my bucket list items to be able to attend an extended TPR trip either domestically or save a bit more for one internationally! I'm currently out of ClubTPR for financial reasons, but would easily hop right back onboard if the next chance I have for a trip is for the club specifically.
  20. I'm usually not one to marathon a roller coaster, except at times the opportunity is way too good to pass up (and maybe I've ridden everything else in the park already). I rode Thunderbird 12 times in a row when I was last at Holiday World in October, and could have easily done more if I didn't have other plans in the park! I only had to switch seats twice, but I never had to leave the station. I also lapped Banshee 12 times in one day (at least 10 times consecutively) on a quiet Sunday in October last year.
  21. I was thinking the exact same thing. They borrowed the RMC boys from south to help barrel-roll the first drop! Good luck to the Coaster Cats for whatever they do to it!
  22. Deep Water Dive, sometime in early September. When was the last time you visited a ski resort (big or small)?
  23. Thanks for the photos. The coaster still looks great!
  24. I popped onto their website to look for something and this advert was on the home page. This video does some serious justice for getting a season pass since some folks don't realize just how dirt-cheap getting one for this park really is! [vimeo] [/vimeo]
  25. Press Release Source The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea, will intimidate the bravest of guests onboard Harmony of the Seas when she debuts in May 2016. Towering more than 150 feet above sea level, the pair of side-by-side slides will release adrenalin-seeking travelers into a chilling 100 foot drop that twists and turns in a serpentine-like movement as they slide nine miles an hour from the Pool and Sports Zone on Deck 16 to the Boardwalk on Deck 6 below. Additional Video It's a pretty unique approach for Royal's first ship with major water slides on board! I think it looks fantastic!
