I absolutely love how everything seems to meld together so well in those photos. Everything seems like they actually belong next to each other, and not like they were planted there for the sake of having scenery or another attraction. Also, this game is FAR more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than RCTW (especially with the colors used).

Sometimes it did that, and eventually I'm forced to settle on a wonky-shaped sidewalk instead of something much more simple and straightforward. Shop and stall placement wasn't too horrid once you use the "snap" method, they'll just plop onto the side of the sidewalk of choice (though some spots are restricted with no explanation). But the bathroom/medical/mechanic/janitor stalls are WAY too big, and need to be sized-down significantly. There's absolutely no logical reason for them to be as big as they are, especially since each building only holds three of each employee. It makes it hard to install any in your park without having to delete other stuff that might be of importance.

So I got it for the price on the link posted before, and found that the game isn't as "terrible" as I suspected it would be. I was right in that it would NOT be worth $50, but I was wrong in that it would be completely unplayable. It's playable for some few hours. My main gripes with it (and I'll include the obvious ones): -The lag in the game is awful! The moment I place my first ride, and start looking around, it immediately starts to lag harshly. Once I've actually built a small park, I can't look in certain directions without it occasionally freezing for 2-4 seconds, then coming back. If I was flying around with the camera, I can expect to overshoot wherever I was intending to look at. -The animation in the game is still wonky. The Pendulum ride doesn't swing super fast anymore (it still spins super fast), but it rises to the top and stays upside down for however many cycles you tell it to; the default being 1.5 days in-game before coming down. -I understand the humor behind your guests puking sometime after they've gotten off of a ride, but when you have to place a janitor stall at the exit of a roller coaster because Every. Single. Person. getting off feels the need to instantly puke, it's no longer funny, it's just a pain. That said: -The coaster builder isn't too horrific once you get the hang of it. They have straight pieces, they have freeform pieces. Once you've set the layout, you can easily go back and smooth out pieces by hand and it'll look just fine. The wooden coaster glitches a lot though. -Once you've expanded your park, you've got lots of room for lots of coasters and rides and... stuff. But with what's in the game currently, you'd probably find it pretty darn hard to fill a completely expanded park. I don't know, maybe I'm going too easy on it because I didn't have such high expectations (and didn't pay full price). But still, it's nowhere near great. All I can think of at this moment is that they're trying to compete against PC's Alpha release in an attempt to stay relevant too. On a last note, the game has different genres of music for the different types of themes available, but they're all variations of the game's theme song... which I've yet to get out of my head.

That's about as much as it's worth at this point (that or $15). I said that I would consider getting a copy if the price dropped to half of what it was, so I might actually consider getting that copy instead. There's no way I'm paying $50 for a horribly unfinished video game. This might be a dumb question, but is the website selling the game for that price even legal?

I read a lot of reviews of the alpha not having enough scenery objects or rides to be able to do or build anything significant, yet we get creations like ^^^those?! I think that is what true creativity is: taking what you have, and working with it to your advantage! I've already seen that happen in Parkitect and TPS, and now I've seen it in Planet Coaster! Now for someone to try it in RCTW...

I witnessed a YouTube livestream that had just ended, and everyone in the chat plus the gamer had lost all hope for it. It was sad. The guy streaming it is planning on getting a refund as well. I feel kinda bad for Nvizzio (not the least bit for Atari). They seemed like a relatively small group of developers who at least tried to reignite the franchise and pick up what was left off of the previous developers. I don't know who was responsible for setting deadlines for this game, but it clearly wasn't enough time. Just too many negative factors had led to where it is now, let alone them not being as experienced in making coaster tycoon/simulation games. Also, just so we're clear on what was written on the blog: They are still taking in feedback, and apparently plan to develop it over time while still letting folks play it.

Most Overrated coaster?
Midgetman82 replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I second this. I probably need to go back for a night ride on it someday. Until then, the day ride was far from any "religious experiences" some tout that it sometimes gave. I already got that from Voyage, so I might be a bit spoiled. Apparently this was my last post here. To update, I have ridden The Beast at night. Even had a whole train to myself while riding front-row during Coasterstock last year. It was nice, but still didn't live up to some folk's "religious experience" that they've had. I get that they have more memories from riding it in earlier times than me, but I didn't get much from the experience apart from straight bits, sudden laterals, and not being sure where or how strong the trims are throughout the ride. It's kinda fun, but The Beast still lands #1 on my overrated list. -

Most. Beautiful. Sunset. Ever. Meh, it was still late afternoon and the sun was kinda low. -
[PKT] Port Costa Resort

Looking real good! I find Inverted coasters particularly tricky to work with because of the larger elements, but yours looks pretty well implemented! Keep it up! -
*Phwew* Big walls of text! Lots of you guys had valid points, and I was gonna touch base on many of them, but then I lost my train of thought somewhere in the read... So I'll leave it at this: Each game (TPS, RCTW, PC, Parkitect) has something different for different players asking for different gameplay. There's probably not gonna be "the one" to be perfect for everyone. Play whichever provides more enjoyment to you. I do agree about the ticket booths look a bit intrusive, especially after that scenery time lapse video. Hope they give options to change or remove them altogether (leaving only that guy to stand guard near the entrance queue). As a final note, the game play I've seen on YouTube from the alpha was the straw that broke me to finally pre-order. (Especially after seeing the other being $20 more than this...)

Coasters at Sunset
Midgetman82 replied to DorneyKid14's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I realized I don't shoot very many sunset photos as I thought I did. Might because Kentucky Kingdom doesn't stay open as late as some other parks. Nevertheless, I think I have some to share as well. Off season, around the time the park was still shuddered Airtime! Twisted Twins from a distance. Coasterstock 2015! -
That's probably correct. I listened to it closer, and even brought it into an editor (I won't re upload it since I don't have permission). After slowing it to 80%, everything seemed correct. The pacing looked more realistic, the guys sounded like actual guys, and even the cheering in the station sounded more human. It didn't haul as much a$$ as I had thought, but the coaster still looks pretty sweet! Of course, I could be way off and be digging into this too much, and the pitch of the audio on the video was the only thing affected.
