Please help TPR's Jack Crouse!
Midgetman82 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm embarrassingly late in getting to know this, and very saddened to hear of what has come of Jack. I donated to the fund and will spread it around where I can. I hope his conditions turn out for the better soon, and wish his family the strength they need to get through this situation they're in. -
The super-bright colors also pop against the supports, fencing, and the entire area surrounding the outer-perimeter of the ride and park, which is a plus. It makes the ride very photogenic, and like what was mentioned earlier, the ride will be very visible from the front of the park (especially from FearFall)! Now, about that second train for T3...?

^And a good ride to get your "outward banked turn" fix if you're desperate! How high does an RMC train sit on their tracks?! Though the ride doesn't cross over itself a lot, there are some low-clearance sections among it that could provide some serious head-chopper effects; unless they plan to alter the supports once more before finalizing it?

So the team had been slowly working on this game and are currently on to Pre-Alpha 8 (and price hasn't changed). A lot of stuff happened since the last post, but I'll just highlight the major ones: -Dark Rides now exist, and the cars can do controlled rotation. -Inverted coasters now exist: -The Zierer Star Shape now exists: -Entrances and exits can come straight out like usual, or be built off to the side: -A modder who was creating nice building sets for the community is now making some for the official game. -More scenery -New staff room -New sounds -Etc. Next update: -They plan to add that one crazy Tourbillion ride:

Lets not forget the Pepsi-Cola warehouse right across the street (ironic considering KK serves Coke products ). The whole area outside the ride area is industrial and currently lacking in trees, so the aesthetic does carry over to outside. Although, I hope they do add trees since the inside towards Mile High Falls is heavily forested.

Coastermania... Is it worth it?
Midgetman82 replied to MonkeyPants's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I went 2013 and it was pretty great, albeit it was the most amount of coaster enthusiasts I've ever seen in one place at the time (Coasterstock last year beat that). Even with that, I'd highly recommend doing it at least once because it is an awesome event, especially if it's your first time to the park (like it was for me). You'll get a huge amount out of the park from doing it! I hear it's been getting a bit packed like the above two had said, and with some folks saying that it felt a bit more unorganized. I can't say I experienced any "crowding" or un-organization of any sort, so I can't speak on that issue. -
People are really being awful. This video does not look bad. Clearly the person designing this coaster wasn't going for realism, and guess what, neither will most of the people playing the game. The new track creation system apparently tends towards weird rampy rides, just like the old creation system resulted in awkward rides with sharp transitions, but that doesn't mean you can't make better looking rides if you try, and it says nothing about how fun the overall game is. I don't mind how this looks at all. I don't mind it at all either. I also believe if this game was released as a standalone game under a different title (not even remotely referencing Roller Coaster Tycoon), then I think it would not be so heavily criticized. From that video alone, I think it would pass as an okay roller coaster game played simply for the fun of it, not for building realistic rides. I actually think the game could be potentially fun if we allow it to be. But we hold standards to it because Atari wants this to stand with the line of other RCT games, which didn't seek to be cartoony (with the exception of RCT2 expansion packs!).
