  1. Aren't we in this community simply to have fun at theme parks? You see "something less than what's been done before," I see "a brand-spankin' new roller coaster!!!" Outside of the coaster realm, I'm becoming quite exhausted in the frequency of excessive violence going on in the U.S. this year. How can certain people make others feel paranoid in simply stepping outside or meeting certain people? Why can't we just get along...?
  2. Closest I've ever gotten to puking was on the Typhoon at the Kentucky State Fair. I'm usually okay on spinning type rides, but this one was way too disorienting and had a ride cycle just a tad too long for my tastes (or my stomach).
  3. ^Eh, that sorta counts. I shot a little bit of video on my last run-by on the 29th, and finally got enough time to sit and edit it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnv9igoXcj4
  4. I can sort of agree with this. The latest developing team for RCTW, Nvizzio Creations, definitely don't seem to be on the same level of that as Frontier (judging from their very young Facebook page). They also don't have such a solid background in creating coaster simulation games as Frontier. While there's a lot about RCTW to bash, especially after seeing the Beta weekend, you have to give the Nvizzio team some credit for what they were able to push out in the short amount of time Atari gave them after giving the boot to the previous developers. With the delayed release that they're now doing, hopefully they'll have enough time to fix and improve and do better. Still, judging from the reactions of a lot of people over the internet, Frontier seems to be the ones that will probably end up standing at the forefront of soon-to-come coaster simulation games.
  5. ^^^With a car similar to that of a HUSS Booster, I'd sure love to see something with a layout almost like that be made!
  6. Sound Check (Gravity) - Gorillaz
  7. Dev Diary #2 - Rewarding Creativity "Welcome to Dev Diary #2 - Rewarding Creativity. What you will be able to do with the building tools in Planet Coaster will allow you to create the next level of coaster parks." Scenery placement, track building, and the very slick terraforming tool highlighted in this video! This really does look like the Roller Coaster Tycoon 4 we've been waiting for.
  8. I could be mistaken, but I do believe mine was Chang at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom.
  9. Most B&M hyper-style coasters for me. Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia and Diamondback at Kings Island are both simply pure fun and super-easy to marathon!
  10. The speed and g-forces on Kings Island's Flight Deck (The Bat). Cedar Point's Wicked Twister front seat. I didn't expect it to twist so quickly up the spike after the second launch! The first launch on Thunderbird at HW. The third drop in Voyage's triple-down almost always gets me. Everything about Lightning Run and Maverick.
  11. I haven't heard of a standalone haunt having a moving dark ride, so seeing something like that in a commercialized setting sounds like a pretty cool twist from the usual haunt! I wish them much luck in their project!
  12. Pilgrim's Plunge, Son of Beast, and the Millenium Flyer trains put on GWAZI.
  13. The number of cars does seem a bit confusing considering both Manta and Kraken both have 8 car trains. Maybe they're counting on its efficiency to still be better since it's only seat belts and lap bars? I agree! This seems to be some people's sleeper hit. Maybe not overly exciting like some RMC's, but for what it is and where it's going, it's hard to argue how good it will probably be! Looking forward to more progress of this coaster!
  14. 1) Twitter and YouTube are tied at the top for me on posting and looking at others people's content. I almost never miss a TPR video on YouTube. 2) I use Tumblr to post some pretty photos now and then, but I can't take it seriously as a social media platform. 3) There's still a lot about Instagram I'm not particularly fond of, but it's slowly growing on me. I use it now and then. 4) I'd use Facebook more often, but I've had some folks I know (not close family members) ruin the experience for me. I'd pop-on now and then to scroll through, take care of pages I run, message some people, or keep up with events, but that's about it. 5) Snapchat is still fairly new to me, so I barely use it. I have the most boring snaps out of all of my friends, so that might say something about me.
  15. Looks like an excellent concept, but I'm concerned with how sharp the transition into those turns are. I'd sure love to try it though!
  16. I wonder how people manage to lose stuff on the lift hill Probably thanks to the design angle of the bucket seats. My question is how you can lose a shoe on the brake run, but not anywhere else during the course?
  17. Some re-profiling in portions of the coasters or new small elements would be lovely, but implementing an inversion into either of the three existing coasters doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Voyage is already intense and awesome as it is. To those people who aren't used to its intensity, I think an inversion might push that too far.
  18. I'm just happy they took out the wood blocking the view of the bottom of the ride when looking from the street or sidewalk. These photos don't show it, but I saw someone else's recent photos of it. Now you can easily see the bottom of the track!
  19. I've seen some stuff go flying from Lightning Run's airtime hills while on the ride, but the most memorable one was a kid who wore a necklace with keys on it (which I assume were his way to get into his house). It rose from his neck and flew off on the first airtime hill. He panicked the rest of the ride, and had to make a sad phone call afterwards.
  20. Congrats to the Skyplex Orlando team, and to those who heavily supported it! Looking forward to an Orlando return trip in the future to ride The World's Tallest Roller Coaster!
  21. Finally caught the recent 15 minutes of the stream. I figured there would be plenty of people present in support for the project, but I didn't expect them to be the overwhelming majority! It's quite pleasing to see!
  22. Pre-Alpha 5 was released: New Bobsled Coaster Type Some of the current coasters received new car types. 6-seat, 4-seat (original), and 2-seat New dragon and mine cart trains. These and some smaller enhancements added, including an helper for scenery placement and new sounds for some coasters (highlighted at the link up top).
  23. T3 is slated to have a second train. It had apparently already arrived during the previous season, but it wasn't certified to run in time.
  24. I know the focus is on the rides, but, this is actually really neat! Edit: And just as I posted that, they post another video featuring "Physics Driven Realism": [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew] Looks like the realism goes beyond physical details, but also into the mechanics of the rides. How you build your rides affects the guests.
