  1. Gonna re-bump this real quick to mention that a new update is out, and includes a Mac-compatible version in it.
  2. I don't recall EVER seeing someone call Storm Chaser either of those. All four of the 2016 RMC's look fantastic in their own way! This one was heavily criticized when it was first announced. I don't know why, but it was. I'm betting it was heavily influenced by the ride's announcement, which put off a lot of enthusiasts at first. While other RMC's had enough of a grandiose announcement/video to make the average coaster nerd flip, SC's announcement did fall a little short. Nonetheless, people are still slowly realizing that there's another great RMC being built, and another very unique coaster within the region to ride! Try to go for a weekday, and like Woodie said, sometime in May or early June tend to have the lightest crowds of the year. The park can be boiled down to one-whole or two-half days, but be sure to get to the park some time before they open to get the most out of it that/those days (this goes ESPECIALLY if you're planning to visit the water park at all).
  3. No sleep last night. The only thing I could think of all day was reuniting with my bed.
  4. Their wave pool is the same model used at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. Their system is to fill a bunch of chambers with water, then flush it out all at once. A bit different from traditional wave pool systems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txVTKxYT1d0 (The company the installed both of these, Barr & Wray, seemed to have become one of many that merged with White Water West.)
  5. Some time passes while in line for T3. Another cycle with guests onboard begins, and is eventually making its way through the first inversion. Someone ahead of me yells, "Oh, this ride goes upside-down?!" I stand there, bewildered, wondering where they had been for the past 20+ minutes.
  6. From how they've treated those community-made mods, I'd bet they would be friendly enough to properly import it into the game if you brought it up to them. It looks neat! (Also, it's probably more acceptable if you say "modded-in" a mine train coaster )
  7. A couple new devlogs, including the addition of building helixes, new sounds, a new Double Ferris Wheel, and a new Gerstlauer Euro Fighter type named "Vertical Drop Coaster." Read-on! The new update will be available when the new build is made, then those who bought it will re-download it from Humble, according to Sebioff.
  8. That design did feel slightly familiar to something Coaster-Lab would design. Awesome to see them part of something major like this! And those trains look niiice! I expect more launched coasters out of these thanks to the head-rest.
  9. Looks like a wonderful time, and the park seems better than I had originally thought considering most reviews I read of it only focus on the coasters and not much else. Thanks for sharing your experience!
  10. This is a tricky topic for me. I find the dive coasters to have the most epic first drops, but then there are rides that waste no time in attempting to reach the top then tear you out of your seat (I-305, Maverick, Lightning Run). Then there's the Incredible Hulk Coaster, which comes out of a barrel roll before rocketing down the drop and into the next elements. My top vote will probably be I-305, though, considering it's the tallest and fastest of them all.
  11. Loving the updates on the coaster! Everything about this is so high quality too, from the renderings, to the short videos, to the actual coaster itself! looking forward to more progress!
  12. I have family who fly United, so usually that. Otherwise, if I was able to choose any airline to go to my destination with then it would be Delta, hands-down. Southwest is getting some newer planes that are quite lovely, but like the above comment, the no assigned-seating can sometimes make or break certain flight experiences. ESPECIALLY if you're with a group that's one of the last to board.
  13. The Bluegrass Fair, with rides owned by Belle Amusements. I went last year because they had a Moonraker flat ride, but it was closed on my visit. I rode their other rides, and regretted all but two. I liked the 1001 Nachts and the Fabbri drop tower. The rickety round up with strobes blasting at your face the entire ride and the dirty Zamperla Power Surge that could barely do one complete turn before ending had me legitimately scared for my life. I didn't bother with the rest of the rides that day, and I skipped going back this year. One huge redeeming aspect of the fair, though, was the food! --- First day of operations last year for Kentucky Kingdom deserves an honorable mention thanks to what was probably the worst crowds I've ever witnessed at an amusement park (or almost anywhere outside of a fair). Virtually every ride I was in line for had at least one line jumper cutting somewhere ahead or behind me. There was one instance where two teenage girls very, very obviously scooted in front of a woman standing in front of me with her kids for Dippin' Dots. The woman slowly turned around to see if anyone witnessed it, which I told her I did. She was tempted to tell them off, but figured it wouldn't be worth whatever bigger ordeal it may bring up over getting some ice cream. While this doesn't happen much anymore, people do tend to jump out of the line to use the bathroom and return hoping their friend saved their spot. People need to learn to go before they queue.
  14. Portal 2 for the first time. Did it in one sitting too, while eating food during loading screens (and taking bathroom breaks as well). Wound up being about 8 hours.
  15. ^That makes sense. This. Pardon me for even bringing it up. It just leaves me more stumped than the past debates on Outlaw Run and other coasters being called what they are. I guess we'll just have to see up-close and further out on progress before calling it anything.
  16. I like the coaster track, even with as funky as it looks. It reminds me of these Lego Duplo Highway bricks I used to play with as a kid. Like others have mentioned, I'm betting that this track type might be able to support itself with support spacing similar to B&M (I'm no engineer, I'm only guessing). They could. See the Free Spin. I don't think this new track will provide new elements or revolutionary rides (definitely not decreasing the roll length, and I don't think I want to see that anyway). The pros of that system are more on the manufacturing side. Could this mean cheaper coasters? Also with that, could this mean parks could inevitably build much bigger/longer with RMC?
  17. Intamin has wing riders. But in all seriousness, Much of what you had said I can agree with. To add on, I read somewhere on the SeaWorld thread involving Mako where someone said SeaWorld needed to be conservative and choose a company that would guarantee to be the most reliable while still providing the thrills they wanted (apart from the strong relationship they have buying from B&M). I think this was partly in an argument against why they didn't choose a company like Mack to build a coaster just as exciting, because they're probably not in a position to have something super-innovative at the moment due to risking having something super-unreliable. This has also been a really interesting thread to read through.
  18. Wait, I looked a little closer and I think I see the wood in question. It almost looks like it's the two wooden stumps in between the two horizontal bars on each section. I circled them below. (Photos shot by Mark Brunner.) Top of the lift hill Wooden parts circled in red. I believe the track sits on these. Bottom of the lift hill where track exists. What looks to be the wood that the track sits on (circled in blue so it could be visible). I might get to hit the park on its last operating day Sunday, so I'll then get to see it for myself and maybe nab a few progress pics to share.
  19. technically indeed. I feel, with the way RMC is excelling in the market, it won't be long until they are manufacturing their own giant steel supports. ( RMC giga ) " The future of coasters! ". ( hopefully! ) The Storm Chaser sub-webpage stated that there was a small amount of wood touching the track somewhere... Which, I'll admit, I can't see in any of the photos posted. It's still technically a hybrid, but the line between wood/steel or steel/wood is so blurred at this point. (Not to bring up old arguments, I'm settling on simply calling it a "hybrid.")
  20. "Wrap Me In Dreams" - Deep Sounds
  21. That first photo though! I know they're both supposedly the same height, but does Storm Chaser already "feel" taller than Lightning Run?
  22. ^Those are really awesome!
  23. Looking good! Very exciting to finally see visible track!
  24. I second what was said above. I tried it for the first time last year. Ignoring Thunderbird for a moment, the halloween walkthroughs and mazes they had last year were pretty neat, and the corn field maze seemed to go on forever. That mixed with the fall foliage makes it worth going out and seeing. I'm also sure crowds will be a little bigger this year than it was last year.
  25. The closest Kroger is near Papa John Stadium, on the other side of the bridge and only a couple blocks from the State Fair Grounds. 3165 S 2nd St Louisville, KY 40208 I don't know if Kroger does advance discounted tickets.
