PortAventura Discussion Thread

Dragon Khan's new train colors remind me of a parrot. A pretty parrot, of course. I'll have to see Shambhala's train on the track before I can decide how much I like the color scheme. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I don't like seeing anyone restricted from any seat (not just front or back), especially not people who paid extra to maximize their experience at a park. Station waits are a good compromise since you can choose even the most desirable seats without ruining grouping for others. They can still be lengthy (the main reason I love exit path or similar ultra-quick access), but at least they save time compared to the main queue. Hopefully the Cedar Point system works out well. It sounds like it should! -

Parc Asterix Discussion Thread

Honestly, the only zero-g roll I really love is the one on Superman: KC at SFFT (and I'm not even much of a fan of that coaster). The rest fade into the background to me when compared to other elements on their respective rides. By the way, the above trip report makes me want to go ride Goudurix. -
So I'm not the only person who doesn't attend a lot of shows? I'd describe the number of bands I've seen as only "several," whereas it feels like everyone else goes to shows all the time (or at least have seen many over the years).

Sounds like the perfect introduction! How did he like it? -

Doesn't the word "behemoth" have more than one pronunciation also? Granted, the more epic of the two most common options seems to be the one used for the coaster. -

^^So true. I think the main reason I'm not a major Schwarzkopf fan is that there are so few operating installations in the US, and fewer still of any note. If more of the coasters that made the company (in)famous were still around and running well, I'm sure it would be much closer to the top of my list of favorite manufacturers. This is excellent news! Turbine sounds like quite the fun ride, and enclosing it should make it even more interesting. -
^^I'm sorry. I hate those! Thankfully they were almost exclusively a kid thing for me. Not to get nasty or unflattering, but my worst was when two massive ones morphed into one and visibly deformed my lip on the outside.

When I was in middle and high school, one of the clubs to go to was a gay club. It's still impossible not to run into all kinds of people who go there or have been there. I remember talking to a friend about it years ago and I believe she explained there was some kind of potential awkwardness if straight people attended, but that may have diminished over the years, or perhaps it was only evident if people behaved inappropriately for the environment.

Quoted for agreement. What a layout. -
Hey, I've gone to SFGAdv and just ridden Superman and Green Lantern. Oh yeah, and Toro. I believe most people don't, but I see no reason not to (no need to get into most of the reasons here, as they can be controversial). I count for personal enjoyment and documentation, so if it feels right to count relocated credits, I will, even if it's not "cool" right now.

What is the coolest coaster name?
cal1br3tto replied to Hilltopper39's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As I said the other day... Dinoconda. -
Certain flavors of Trident do pretty well with that (Trident Tropical Twist has always been one of my favorites). The new fruity flavors of 5 are pretty good too. I've got a pack of Tropical Twist right next to me. I agree; it's tasty and keeps its flavor pretty well (heck, I just noticed it actually claims "Long Lasting Flavor" on the package). I guess I just wish someone would revolutionize gum, and make the flavor last for hours...or even indefinitely!

^Nice, I'll have to check that out! I'm so behind; I've barely followed any new music in the last few years. Oh well.

Yeah, not at all my kind of Christian music. I'm sure it will be a great event for the park, though. -
Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
cal1br3tto replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Nice, I remember people complaining that Hersheypark would really benefit from that system but didn't offer it. I've forgotten, did we already know this was coming for some reason? Or did it come out of nowhere? I can't say Kennywood's system is my favorite, but any reasonable option helps. It was way too easy for me to miss my scheduled timeframe while experiencing other attractions. Yes, that was a completely conscious and informed choice on my part, but it was still annoying that I had to plan that way or miss out. -
^Personally, I thought Wildcat was decently suited to a backseat mini-marathon last year. Sidewinder I could avoid for the rest of my life, though it wasn't painful and I like the new restraints. Even among people who have ridden it during the same era (PTCs or MFs), Wildcat seems to stir up a lot of completely opposing opinions, not just about roughness but also airtime. Maybe the experience varies a lot?

I didn't even realize the tube course would be a dry ride. Apparently the product name is "Tubby"...how adorable. If only the park had gone with that name. These attractions look fun, but won't bring me back to the park. In fact, I have no interest in going there alone in the foreseeable future. I'm glad they'll be open in December again this year, though.

I tried orange creme Extra today and enjoyed it. The flavor seemed pretty realistic (more to the orange side than creme) and lasted a good while. I wouldn't say I have a favorite gum, though. I don't like how they all seem to lose their flavor so quickly, and I'm not confident there are any popular brands out right now that have effectively combated that problem. I remember having better luck with bubblegum as a child, but I haven't had any in a long time and haven't seen any supporting evidence for this online, so maybe it was a misperception.
