  1. With these recent updates I'm actually starting to think Shambhala and Dragon Khan look lovely together. Intentionally or not, some of their curves seem almost parallel, or otherwise create pleasing lines and shapes.
  2. After a day of riding Giant Dipper, I found that my, erm, bra clasp was pushed in by the seatback, and one of the little jack cover thingies on my phone was pushed out of place. I also ended up with several painful bruises on my back. It's possible that the ride wasn't truly "rough," but I wouldn't classify it as anywhere near "violent" or "aggressive". Without the intense airtime, I'd consider the ride mild or tame, though as it is those terms don't do it justice.
  3. I'm relieved to learn the investigation is uncovering some plausible answers. It had been quite disconcerting to think that, even in this day and age, it could've been impossible for anyone to figure out what happened. Maybe that wasn't a realistic concern, but considering past events that provided only inconclusive evidence, I couldn't help but wonder. On the other hand, the fact that this wasn't a freak accident makes it much more troubling in some ways.
  4. I don't think I should share how entertained I am by these ride names.
  5. I only got the slightest bit of enjoyment out of Journey to Atlantis at SWSA, and I am expecting this to at least be better than that. It's a bit more of a "real" coaster than that barely-a-credit shoot-the-chutes.
  6. Haha, that reminds me of an actually good version of the terrible out-and-backs I always end up designing in RCT. As much as I'd rather be on the ride itself, that certainly got me hyped for its eventual opening!
  7. I guess since I'm nowhere near the park, it's pretty easy for me to accept it as just another credit at the least. It would be nice to be able to enjoy poring over details of something more exciting, but I have other coaster projects to fill that need for me this off-season. On the plus side, it's lookin' kinda sexy in these latest pictures...
  8. ^I remember some of the turns having both airtime and laterals combined! Seems fairly unusual.
  9. Ha, I keep forgetting we're now in the month that many (sadly not all) parks open up. Hope all goes well for the GCI in the meetings!
  10. Yeah, I rarely gave much thought about where to sit on Giant Dipper. I've heard the front's great, though, so I'll have to catch it some day. I think I had some middle seat rides that felt tamer than ones further back, as one would expect on many coasters, but at least that was somewhat counteracted by the ride running faster as the day progressed.
  11. So perfect. The only thing better would be if each of the trains are somehow different (which I'd imagine is possible).
  12. There is something appealing about a lot of these gray color schemes. I do like the "industrial" vibe as well.
  13. I'm also happy to hear my beloved Dipper is doing well, though that's partly because I seem to be about the only person who has found it rough!
  14. ^I never even realized that about B:TR. Guess I had no reason to look at early pics. I don't believe that completely registered with me on Iron Wolf, either. I kinda liked how Wolf had that rusty-looking color scheme; almost seemed a bit nature-like to me. I really like the new Apocalypse colors, though! Is it bad that for a split second I thought that picture was taken in front of American Eagle?
  15. ^Don't you just LOVE that? I was so stoked to find pictures of me riding my first roller coaster (even though I already knew I had the credit). I just wish I could find more of me on carousels (unfortunately the ones I remember best anyway are the only ones I've found photos of) and some at local carnivals.
  16. I totally was not expecting that level of theming. Consider me highly impressed! The slides really appeal to me, too; that style seems quite hard to track down both at playgrounds and in amusement parks.
  17. That's silly, since it seems like no matter the cost of these systems, there are always some people using them on days when most wouldn't consider it warranted. Besides, with the way people are so obsessive over costs and value these days, I'd assume a lot of people would see right through that tactic (as has been shown, at least in enthusiast circles). I'm glad I haven't heard of that happening lately, and I hope it truly isn't going on anywhere.
  18. ^I've been waiting patiently for the wolves to appear, so hopefully!
  19. Even with limited coaster offerings on Kings Island's Fast Lane, I came away with a very positive impression of it. Sure, I had to suffer through waits for Woodstock Express and Invertigo due to poor planning on my part, but Fast Lane helped make up plenty of time. Hopefully it works equally well at KD!
  20. I remember worrying about when NTAG would open after "late spring" was mentioned as the timeframe. Thankfully, it just turned out to be "not early spring," or more specifically, late April. So of course, it is possible they're behind and buying themselves until late June, but it's also possible "late" spring won't really be that late at all. One can hope...
  21. ^Seeing this thread reminded me of the Elitch Gardens announcement coming up in about a week...maybe they'll be on the same day. We do already have a fairly good idea of what the new Darien rides might be, though, right?
  22. I want to ride the Millennium Flyer drop tower!
  23. Yeah, you can see the padding better now. I'm so glad train designs are going in a more minimalistic direction lately.
  24. For some reason I just barely remember riding Wagon Wheel. But it was an Enterprise, so it must've been fun! I hope some of them will stay around for a while, as I like to seek them out every now and then.
  25. I'd forgotten how photogenic those trains are. They've pulled the theming off well, too; love that plane headchopper!
