  1. Does anyone else think this is ridiculously high? I mean come one, I've seen smaller drop rides! As for myself, I've ridden a 40 meter high Starflyer at Power Park, and I think it's of the perfect height. Just high enough to still have a bit of feeling safe and excited. This is just pure overkill IMO.
  2. Same here, but I did mine about coasters' safety in general. In the end I asked if anyone had any questions and not-so-surprisingly someone asked about Final Destination 3. Of course I told them that's pure fiction.
  3. Teeny Weeny. I just... don't really know why I didn't ride it. Maybe I just didn't feel whore-ish enough
  4. One thing (of the many) I love about Insane, its that it's right next to the water. The first dip and the brake run are actually above water, as can be seen from the pics. I just love Insane!
  5. Sorta offtopic, but still hilarious: Linnanmäki has a kiddie train ride that gently goes around the big round building in the centre of the park. This ride is called in finnish Muksupuksu, BUT the swedish version of the park map says it's called Tuff-Tuff Tåget!
  6. I learned, that elephants use sticks to clean their feet of mud. They operate the sticks with their trunks and scrape of any dried mud.
  7. I'm seriously thinking of getting a small Hurakan Condor -logo on my calf/shin area. It represents my love for theme parks and especially for freefall towers. And it's one of the best logos I've seen. Here's the logo. Just ignore the text and the grey backdrop.
  8. Last week I started playing Final Fantasy VII. Oh the nostalgy! The story, the materia and especially the music beats any other FF (or any game for that matter).
  9. My real name is Antti, shortened as Ana. (Please do not confuse it for a female name.) Thus Anaconda. Still, I have never ridden a coaster called Anaconda and I'm not too fond of snakes. And I figured someone might have the same screen name, so I changed the o to a zero. It's not there to annoy people, it's there to ensure I get the screen name I want.
  10. You know, I have 0 days school left at high school although I will not graduate before end of May. Here in Finland our high school's last year is only half as long as the two other, meaning that at this time of the year all the senior students (here called as abiturients) leave from school. We are supposed to study hard the whole month before we take our "graduation tests", but who's watching? After the tests in the end of March, it's freedom! No school work left and I can focus on doing nothing. Well, I am going to work at Linnanmäki, but it doesn't open until end of April. So I get a full month of relaxation. Also, we get to dress up goofily and toss candy at those still studying on a special day a week from now. Can't wait!
  11. Wow! Don't know if you were trying to, but you've created a rec. of an Intamin Half-Pipe.
  12. Those five do not surprise me at all... When I was there, it was an hour queue to Balder pretty much the whole day. Because of that I only rode Balder three times. I would've wanted more. But at the same day Lisebergbanan was a walk-on, but I think it generally has longer queues and thus receives a "Quick Pass -queue". About the Quick Pass: I've never experienced one, so I'm not sure what to think about it. It is a good thing to get more rides per day. But having queued for nearly an hour, the last thing I would want to see would be somebody just walking right past me and into the ride. I'd also want to keep the nearby parks here in Scandinavia "Q-Bot free", as I think it belongs to the bigger parks out there. This post made no sense and had no opinion. Just sharing my thoughts...
  13. Well, #2 is a bit too intense IMO. I like massive waterslide-complexes in real life so I'll say #3. And I feel sorry for you about the pathwork it includes
  14. My thoughts excactly. Too bad it's in English though... This is great! Thanks!
  15. Just finished Prince of Persia (PS3). Also playing Guitar Hero: Greatest hits (including drums), MotorStorm Pacific Rift and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. Also liked playing Mirror's Edge and Assassin's Creed, of which my brother has the sequel (still in wrap though ).
  16. *sigh* This thread reminded me of one of the few negative things working as a ride-op. I'm so glad though, that the problem isn't that big here in Finland. The more people visit a park per day, the more idiots do so as well. Last summer the most I heard was "We rode this last summer as well." no matter the height. It's just pure sad some people leave their brains home when visiting a theme park...
  17. I will continue working at Linnanmäki as a ride-op. Only this year I will be there for the whole season (end of April to beginning of September). Currently I have a "driver's licence" to all the kiddie rides, Pikajuna and Hurjakuru. This year I will most probably get a couple more. I'm really hoping to get one for Kirnu or Salama
  18. It's kinda hard to have a pic of a ride sign from the rides at Power Park Finland, because there really aren't any signs at all. BUT I'm not too sure about that. Some rides may have a sign, I dunno. Anyway, here are photos from Särkänniemi: Kantti x Kantti POV Wave Swinger Here's Taikajoki, or Magic River
  19. Now that's interesting! Although I think there can be a problem, because there's only a limited amount of pieces. Think about some greedy kids who want to make their raft the biggest one, and thus there are no blocks left anymore for the other kids...
  20. Here are my favourites of the year: And finally, Kehrä - Linnanmäki. IMO the most beautiful enterprise. Kieppi - Linnanmäki doing it's thing in the dark. Vilda Musen & Jetline - Gröna Lund. There's just something soothing in the atmosphere of this image. Vilda Musen & Fritt Fall - Gröna Lund Kvasten - Gröna Lund. The most photogenic coaster of the park IMO. Insane - Gröna Lund. Pics don't really do justice to this masterpiece. R.I.P. Korkkiruuvi - Särkänniemi Amusement Park. My first coaster to have inversions. Same Tornado - Särkänniemi Amusement Park Half Pipe - Särkänniemi Amusement Park
  21. Philips 4Gb MP3-player at a price of 59,00€. And I couldn't be happier with it already!
  22. By the looks of it, I'm the only TPMember living in Finland... But I know that's not true. And no, there aren't any polar bears in Finland.
  23. My vote was cast for Intamin. They have made awesome innovations such as hydraulic launch coaster, I simply LOVE the freefall towers , and lastly the ZacSpin coaster: Insane went straight up to be the best coaster I've ever ridden! Then there's also the sad fact, that the I've ridden only one B&M (that is Silver Star) ...
  24. Lisebergbanan is great as it almost travels through the entire park! Although the paths aren't quite that near to the track, it's still clearly visible. And the log flume interacts with Lisebergbanan too. Kirnu (and Inferno) is always fun to watch. Every time I look at the balancing of the car and try to guess how it spins in the end.
