The worst I have experienced are Zamperla Disk'O Coaster, Intamin Half Pipe and HUSS Booster. They're all nutcrackers, but other than that great rides. I've never felt floorless rides that I've ridden to be uncomfortable. The rides are Intamin drop tower, KMG Tango and Intamin inverted coaster (Tornado).

The first three letters come from a nickname of my first name, and -conda just flows with it. I'm no snake enthusiast, though. And the zero is there just to annoy everyone Well no. It's there to ensure no-one has the same nick. Here in Finland I have the same nick in the forums but in real life I prefer people calling me just Ana (it's a male's name here).

Tele2 Insane, Intamin ZacSpin for Gröna Lund
Anac0nda replied to Loefet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had ridden Kirnu over 40 times before riding Insane and yet; I could NOT guess how AWESOME Insane would be, before I rode it! I tell you: there's no way you can predict how the ride feels. All the G's you feel are a surprise! And I agree with Elissa. You would most probably die if it were any longer. On one ride we had about 3 seconds of 2-3 G's NEGATIVE (how awesome was that!). I felt pretty dizzy and uncomfortable after that. I'm so sad I'm stuck here in Finland with only Kirnu... -
List the parks you have visited in 2009
Anac0nda replied to Groteslurf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Linnanmäki - 12 times Särkänniemi - 3 times Tivoli Sieterä (a small fair here in Finland) - 1 time and the best park this season: Gröna Lund - 1 time -
Definitely Kirnu - Linnanmäki. If you are a single rider, you can easily get past the queue as they have to balance every train. One can ride it over ten times in just a few hours, while still riding other rides. But I have no idea how many times I've ridden it in the past three years as it has existed.

I think it'll be pretty much a walk-on. It's very late season here in Finland then. BTW, 8th of August isn't Monday...

So... it's been two weeks since the last update. I've no meaning to whine. I'm just eagerly waiting for the last part, Linnanmäki, since it's my home park, where I currently am working as a ride-op. Just reminding, so that this would not remain unconcluded. However, if you feel this is whining, feel free to post the Morgan poem. It's hilarious!

So I went twice to Särkänniemi, which is about 100 km away from my house. We went by train, only taking about an hour. On the first day, all the queues were full, and we barely had time to do every ride we wanted. But the second day was very quiet. Dunno why, but I don't care. I don't have any pics of it, but I ate the best possible snack; a soft ice on soda! Yep, basically it's a cup filled halfway with soda of your choice, and then a soft ice is poured on top of it. It's better than one would think! On with the pics: But so was this too. And with this I end my TR. I had loads of fun on both days! Till next time! Ok, this was totally random. Random view 4. Random view 3. Random view 2. This time with flats. Random view 1. Oh yes, there's also a tall sightseeing tower in the park area. There's also a dolphinarium, a planetarium, an aquarium, an art museum and a petting zoo. A gentle boat ride with a happily painted station. It says Hurricane, but you couldn't figure that, could you? A flat ride, but it sucked! It didn't swing at all. Lift hill nerd shot: part 2 The very strange logo... Stands for Speedy Snake. There's also a small kiddie coaster, oval shaped layout of course. Here's the logo. The ride would be ok without the barrel rolls, since they hurt a lot! But the lying down -part is cool. You can almost hear them screaming in pain... It's a Zamperla Volare, called Trombi. Dunno if it's a word in English, but it stands for a small hurricane. Now this is something even I find uncomfortable... And through the trees! Lift hill nerd shot. Logo. Basically it's a Corkscrew, but in Finnish. Beautiful colors in this pic IMO. And the ride isn't that bad either. It's a Vekoma! But for those who find Vekoma products sucky, there's some Intamin in the background. Can you guess the company of this one? Here it is again, with a HUSS TakeOff. Time for Schwartzkopf hotness! Personally, I find this one of the most aesthetically pleasing coasters ever. Overview. Isn't it just the perfect place for the ride. BTW, the ride is called Tyrsky, which in English would be something like Stormwave. Here's the ridiculously long queue partly shown. This is the new ride for this season. It's good, but not worth queueing 45 mins as we did... Must not forget the logo shot. Here's the rest of Tornado. Sorry, no better picture of it this time... There's also a log flume. When we rode it, we were so heavy (we were 7 people), that the boat sunk into the water once! It was hilarious. Notice the track going through the loop. Here's my current wallpaper. Oh wait, NOW it's perfect! I wonder how this could get any better? Intamin greatness (in both yellow and day-glow orange) But wait, what's that? An artsy shot... or a feeble attempt. You decide. Through the trees! By the way, this one's located on a hillside, so the other end is double as high as the other one! Which is very cool IMO. Here's the logo (with an annoying branch!) First ride of both days; Intamin Half Pipe Ok, so here's the map... in Finnish! Enjoy

Good to see someone still updating the Scandi Trip! (Hopefully Robb can find some time to do the final update, my home park Linnanmäki, soon...) I love Liseberg! All my favourite rides are there (well, except Intamin freefall, but Höjdsckräcken will do), and the scenery and landscape is awesome! But what made my visit stand out from all the parks I've visited, was the opening hours; 10 am to 12 pm! It was undescribeable riding the rides at night, especially the Screamin' Swing!

Thundercoaster - TusenFryd, Norway An airtime hill, basically. Very beautiful pic, with blue sky behind it.

The Restraint Discussion Thread

Check out these bizarre and WAY too painful looking restraints on a Boomerang in Wiener Prater: RCDB Only pure metal digging its way through your flesh! -
The Restraint Discussion Thread
Anac0nda replied to MASH80554077's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Vekoma MK1211 trains for a boomerang in Power Park. They hit me to my chest, so that I can't breath properly. It's scary. Although the trains are much nicer than the old ones in all other ways. Pic Another is the HUSS Booster. The restraints hit me straight into my private place. It's so incredibly accurate, that it's hard to believe. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
Anac0nda replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As I currently have a job as a ride-op, I sometimes get to operate a water-rafting ride in Linnanmäki, Helsinki (Finland). And too often the guests ask if they're going to get wet. Let's have some facts: 1. At the entrance, there's a sing that says not in one, or in two, but in THREE different languages, that you may get wet. 2. In the queue there's a vending machine selling ponchos. But you couldn't tell anything from that, could you? 3. The queue has an excellent view over the last lift hill, so you can see the other guests if they're wet or not. 4. (this is may favourite, and I also answer with this when asked) There's a waterfall size of a house, right in the last part of the ride completely dominating the view in the area. There's NO WAY one could miss it. So, way to go GP! -
I had just finished viewing the poem-video feeling a bit embarrassed for "whining", when I realize it's another update posted! Anyways, I'm desperately trying to get to Gröna Lund this summer, and seeing this update makes me REALLY want to go there! Thanks for the pics and reviews! (And if I get there, I'll be sure to check out that awesome poster-thingy )

When's the next update coming? I'm eagerly waiting for some Insane pics and reviews!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Kirnu - Linnanmäki Yes, one of the three Intamin ZacSpins (Pic taken at opening day in April, thus no leaves in trees) -
Theme Park Review's 90 Degrees Shirt!
Anac0nda replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was just wondering: the MS spinners have an element like this: RCDB So does that count as a 90 degree element? -
Yesterday, when TPR visited Linnanmäki while I was at work there, I started wondering if I could spot you. Well, the very next minute I see Big Mike with his bright t-shirt and a camera in his hands in the queue for Tulireki. And I also heard a full train of TPR members saying "Ouch!" at the same time in the first drop of Tulireki.
-
TPR Scandi Tour spotted today at Linnanmäki! I could easily recognize you. Too bad I could only see you guys and not come to talk, since I was working. I was in the miniature bumper cars, between Tulireki and Vonkaputous. Hope you had a blast! BTW, you also made it into Finnish TV.

TPR Members Working At Parks
Anac0nda replied to BrownStreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm working mainly on kiddie rides in Linnanmäki. But I sometimes get to operate a water ride, Hurjakuru, or a powered rollercoaster, Pikajuna. Both can be found in this picture, Hurjakuru being under Salama (the green and blue MS spinner) and Pikajuna in the right side of the pic. -

Anac0nda replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Salama - Linnanmäki It's a Maurer Söhne spinner, travelling over a water ride. Thus, it's supports are a huge mess By the way, the TPR Scandi Trip is also going to be riding this soon enough And here's a more artistic one:
