Innovation [NL]

Is that a criss-crossing cutting back and forth lift I see? Looking forward to seeing what becomes of this! The production values on the video were great! -
[RCT2] nin's Six Flags Magic Mountain
tedten replied to nin's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
This project looks amazing. I'm hoping the next update shows the whole layout of the California Giant. I love what you did with the color scheme of the Giant's trains. Hopefully you can get some work done on this over the holidays -
Beyond Pixelation :: RCT3 Movie
tedten replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
This looks amazing. It's a bummer that you could never make money off of the idea since RCT isn't your property. I would totally go see this movie in theatres. Can't wait to watch it on here! -
[NL] Panic Mine
tedten replied to christianscoasters's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Kind of Reminds me of a cross of Expedition Everest and Son Of Beast. Thankfully it's a mine train not a wooden hyper coaster! edit: the dive tunnel through the helices is pretty sweet. -
How did you end up here???

Youtube videos that always said TPR at the end. It took me a while before I actually came to the site. -
Theme Park Review is on Twitter!
tedten replied to Not For Sale's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Please don't stop making volumes of the coaster expedition series! I have multiple dvds from both series and I actually prefer the expeditions over the raw dvds, which surprised me. Hopefully they'll start selling more (again) when people realize how amazing each individual park video is! They're fantastic dvds! -
Facebook Etiquette Tips: Photos and Tagging
tedten replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's good to know so many people feel this way. Generally I tag people in almost every picture because they can always untag themselves. I feel it's a courtesy to let them know the picture is online. I can see the point though and understand it could get annoying untagging yourself in tons of pictures. -
24 Days of Theme Park Review Videos!
tedten replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I totally agree. This is one of my favorite videos ever (TPR or otherwise) and I've never even been to the park! -

Mark's Postcard Paradise

Just drove by it on my way to/from Georgia for Thanksgiving! It looks pretty dilapidated to me (the giant sign is falling apart) but I couldn't tell for sure weather it was closed or not. -

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
tedten replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^My thoughts exactly Robb! I live 2 hours North of both SFKK & HW and this makes loosing Chang a whole lot easier! I'm thinking it will be just about the perfect combination water/coaster! -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
tedten replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Following the reoccurring theme of being featured in documentaries Holiday World's Wildebeest construction/lift hill topping will be featured on a national geographic special... http://holidayworld.com/node/3070 Voyage & Pilgrims Plunge were highlighted in different episodes of a series for the travel channel. Now it's Wildebeest's time, although it sounds as if it will feature construction footage not necessarily footage of the water coaster in action. -
I'm glad your hat stayed on your side of the fence in the "jumping the batman fence" photo, Awesome TR!

Calling All Coaster Enthusiasts!

Name: Ted Adams Age: 20 What is your roller coaster count? 110 What is your home park? Holiday World What is the nearest big city? Indianapolis What is your occupation? Student / part time work About how many times a year do you visit a park (including your home park)? 5-10 About how many times a year do you travel to a park that is not your home park? 3-5 When you travel do you go primarily to amusement parks or do you also try and hit other sites? primarily amusement parks What is the farthest you’ve traveled to go to an amusement park? 1,158 miles. (18.5 hours) to texas for SFOT & SFFT. my friend has family there. Does roller coaster time get in the way of family time? (Do you choose to miss your children’s or family’s sporting events, holidays, birthdays, etc…) No. Do you have any other major hobbies? not major Do you get feelings of sadness in the offseason? Do you even have an offseason? Do you travel during the offseason? I usually just stay upbeat by thinking of how great the next season will be. Do you consider yourself friends with someone you met who works at an amusement park? (Or reverse it, if you work or worked and an amusement park have you made friends with enthusiasts?) I've made a few friends through TPR that work at parks. Would it bother you to go to an amusement park by yourself? No it wouldn't. I usually have friends to go with though. Have you gone to an amusement park by yourself? If so have you ever ran into another enthusiast and tagged along with them? I've never gone completely by myself. Do you find it easy to make friends with other enthusiasts? Yes, for the most part. How do you get your coaster news? TPR, ACE, other websites How many different forum sites do you regularly post on? TPR is the only forum I still post on. If there was a poll that asked a large pool of enthusiasts what their favorite roller coaster is, what do you think would be the top 3 responses be for wood? And for steel? WOOD: Phoenix, El Toro, The Voyage STEEL: BIZZARO, Eagle's Fortress, Expedition G*Force Same scenario but for amusement parks, what would be the top 3? BGE, Cedar Point, Islands of Adventure Have you ever “stole a kid” to get a credit on a kiddie coaster? No. Do you cut other categories out of your budget to make trips to parks? (Entertainment, fast food, holidays, tobacco or alcohol, etc…) No. Before you visit a new park do you research the park finding the best way to navigate the park, get the best deals, or what days to go? Yes. Do you feel the roller coaster enthusiast community is a warm and accepting community, or a negative and discouraging community? In between. Do you like to talk about your hobby with people who are not roller coaster enthusiasts? Yes. -
No it is not being used as one this year. No matter how swamped Haunt is I don't think you'll have trouble getting all the credits if you're going to be there for 1.5 days. Obviously since you'll be there on two separate nights a FRONT ROW, night ride on The Beast is absolutely essential. I recommend checking out some Haunt attractions if you have time. Urgent Scare, Club Blood, and Trail of Terror were my favorites and will be worth the wait even if twice as long as the other attractions. Trail of Terror is hidden pretty well back behind Firehawk. Only one side of Racer was running on Friday night and neither Runaway Reptar or Fairly Odd Coaster were running. In fact they had that whole section blocked off. The drop tower wasn't operating either. That's all I can think of... EDIT: also you were allowed to wait for what row you wanted on Diamondback, a nice perk that might have only been because it was a rainy, slow day.

Holy Cow, Natalie, that series of captions for the "psycho" photos was one of the funniest things I've ever read on TPR, or anywhere! If it makes you feel any better the nalgene bottle scare was just that: a scare. The amount of bisphenol A present in the bottles was no where near high enough of a dose to harm you. They changed the formula before the the studies showed this to be safe/ good PR but nothing was wrong with their original bottles. (I'm currently working on a Bisphenol A presentation for my environmental health science class.) Hope your days get better! -

tedten replied to jmccalip's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When I rode Hangman at Wild Adventures I absolutely loved it, but I think that was when it was pretty new. You can imagine the horrific surprise I was in for when I rode T2 for the first time. OUCH! I've been on 5 Batman clones. They were all pretty good but I get tired of them more easily than other posters in this thread. Batmans still rule supreme, especially the first ever B&M invert: SFGAm -

I was lucky enough to get a reride this summer on the IB double shot, and we may have even gotten more if we didn't want to move on. They didn't even make us re-scan our bracelets! -
