  1. Who knows what roller coaster has the tallest loop in the world? I've heard Dominator (135) and Superman Krypton Coaster (loop height not listed on RCDB.com). I know SheiKra has a 145 foot immelmann but as far as vertical loops go does anyone know if SKC or any other coaster in the world has a taller loop than Dominator at 135 feet? Just curious...
  2. I liked the Six Flags chain more when there were huge looney tunes playlands, mist coming down from all the bridges, and the song "the entertainer" playing though all the fake music rocks through out the park. I went to SF Great America already this year and appreciate their efforts in cleaning the park up, employees being more friendly, the giant on/off switch in the front of the park, and mr. six, but I do miss the old days.
  3. I was looking for list of perks at all cedar fair parks similar to the one I found for the 2008 season, but thanks for the help!
  4. I just rode SFGAm's enterprise, "the orbit," on saturday. They're good stuff!
  5. The blue American Eagle training was testing throughout the morning and running by 2:00pm. V2 is still down. Raging Bulls trims were on very hard. Both the Woodies were running more smoothly than I ever remember them running in the past. Viper was a walk-on and they didn't even make us get out of the train. We got a reride because there was no one in the station. Raging Bull however had empty rows and they wouldn't let us reride. The ride ops on Dark Knight held out napkins for us to put our gum into while we were moving out of the station. We rode Viper twice and Raging Bull 3 times all in less than 90 minutes! They're really trying hard to clean their image up with the cleanest park signes, mr. six dancing, and super nice employees. This was the best SFGAm experience I have ever had besides the season Raging Bull opened
  6. I think the investors should give the company a break seeing as they made a profit for the first time ever in 47 years of operation! With Shapiro at the head SF could be turned around within 10 years if the investors could just give them a break. You can tell how much pressure he's under every time he is interviewed. He really wants to succeed & if the investors could give the company a break they'd be solid gold within 10 years!
  7. I realize this thread has been about the 2008 Cedar Fair Platinum Pass. Has anyone found the official 2009 Platinum Pass perks? I'm assuming they're similar but this is the first year I'm going to buy one so I'm just anxious to see the details. Anyone?
  8. TPR: have fun & get wood (Robb referring to the terminator wood given out @ WCB)
  9. Yes! (well not best ever but it's up there!) It's drop is only 7 feet shorter than Voyages first drop! I've ridden quite a few out-and-back woodies such as Great American Scream Machine SFOG & Comet HP and this has blown them all away. As for giant out and back racing woodies I only have Racer at Kings Island to compare it too so far. It totally dominates Racer. I'll be riding Rebel Yell this summer and Rolling Thunder the following summer so I'll have those to compare it to. That being said, I've had some rough rides on it more recently. I'll be at Great America in four days and will be sure to ride both sides to see if the fairly recent retracking has helped. (Didn't it get some care in the past few years?) Also the drop is a surprising 20 feet longer than you can see from off the ride. The drop is into a ravine surrounded by framework that you can't see from off the ride. This Mammoth drop and run though the structure is one one of my all time favorite moments on a coaster! For these reasons I believe American Eagle is extremely underrated
  10. Very true. I hate the fact that they're rich enough to go to whatever theme parks they could ever want for they're sh*tty entertainment / music. Don't know what I mean? Just youtube Jonas Brothers roller coaster and click on a few of the related videos. Grrrrrrrrr!!!

  12. I'm most likely doing both SFGAm & KI on their opening days. Great America will open my season because it opens before Kings Island. Great America opens in less than 10 days! The Dark Knight or S:UF will probably be my first coaster of the year since I haven't been on the dark knight yet. I can't wait for my first rides on Maverick, Hydra the revenge, Dominator, Volcano the blast coaster & Diamondback's opening on April 18th! So, so excited for my first real coaster summer!
  13. ^Thanks a ton! that's super helpful!
  14. Beautiful TR, I can't wait to get there again this year. Is it better to run to top thrill or back to maverick first? (what about if you stay at hotel breakers). RCDB lists maverick's capacity as slightly higher... I think it's a horrible idea to pass up on a nice compact intamin prefab when there's only one in the US. It doesn't make sense to me unless they're planning the tallest B&M dive machine. I'm waiting for the next huge non-launched coaster. I'm tired of TTD & Kingda KA one trick ponies.
  15. First Drops into underground tunnels & Norwegian Loops. I love Raging Bull's first drop. Imagine if Behemoth or Millennium Force's first drop was into an underground tunnel.
  16. If you go online now you can get a one day general admission ticket for only 32.99 or any two days in the '09 season for only 47.99 (about the price you'd pay for one day at the gate) 2 for the price of one. Also it's looking amazing. Each new series of photos and better videos makes me more & more excited to ride it!
  17. Well as long as it was not caused by the coaster you'd be fine. For instance, a girl died from a heart attack on Raging Bull yet they're not closed down. ANSWER: well Yes, I've missed a TV program before that I was planning on watching and it put a damper on my day. QUESTION: Have you ever noticed the big boy seats on certain coasters?
  18. Yes. Multiple times in HS & in college. Have you ever wished that when you die it would be on a coaster sometime in the future so you'd die doing what you love?
  19. I'll say YES because I like almost all coasters. But, I've only been on a few that I know of. Comet, Great American Scream Machine, and Racer at KI weren't that impressive. I'm longing to get on the phoenix at knoebels. Have you ever been on a train when someone threw up, or have you ever seen a barf-laden train?
