  1. Will you be continuing Donau? The new park looks great though, I like its setting! Just waiting for that big coaster now.
  2. Are you using intamin track as support for the corkscrew coaster? Interesting supports on the boomerang too. It will be nice to see the park continue, it looks good so far.
  3. It almost feels like xcelerator at knotts. Just inverted and looping haha! Looks great though, keep up the good work.
  4. ^My eyes! So...many....emoticons! Ha ha Is the black coaster the same as the white Intamin/B&M mut? I lost track of this thread, but from what I can tell the mystery track has yet to be solved no? Great park though, I really enjoy your attention to detail.
  5. Sorry for not having a new post in such a long time, I was enjoying the beautiful socal sun rays and having a blast at those parks down there! I am in the process of building the two models right now and am excited to share them both with you. Insane This is my best work thus far on model roller coaster building and I am very excited to get back to working on this marvelous coaster. I have a midterm in macro this thursday and then after that I plan on working full throttle on this ride until it is done! I have a request though and that is if anyone has some nice, detailed drawings of what the surrounding buildings will look like, please notify me! You can't have a coaster without a station! Thanks and look for an update later this week. Top Thrill Dragster Having not touched this ride in a very long while, it was nice to get back to working on this weekend after I got back from the trip. I am excited with how it is turning out though I do not think it is my best model to date. It fails in multiple places like the length of the run in/outs, the spiral is not heartlined and the track is not very smooth. Regardless, I am hoping that you enjoy the general concept of the ride as much as I have. The supports are pretty accurate and the track is fairly true to the real ride. I painted the main tower this weekend many shades of yellow before I got the right one, and though it appears to be different in the pictures, I assure you it is pretty close to the real deal. This upcoming weekend I hope to finish painting the supports including repainting some white as well as painting some track white. Enjoy![/u] The supports are pretty legit! It is not as crooked as it may appear. The track is fairly pumpy. =[ Going down! Nice overview.
  6. That ride would absolutely make me vomit! I really enjoyed your attention to the supports and it was a really creative idea! A Norwegian loop in a spinner followed by a corkscrew, it almost feels like a 4th dimension coaster with the multiple axiss the train follows. Good work!
  7. I have to say, I am pretty impressed with both of the coasters and their approach at the contest. Both of them had both strong points but both also had some weaknesses. ES- I loved the first drop. From the first pictures of the thing I was looking forward to the download to check it out. Very original. -I enjoyed the element selection because it was both fitting of a stand up coaster, but it executed them really well. -It was heartlined. However- The way you got through the two gates out of the station was very a-typical of a B&M and almost made the ride a little awkward. Further, it was a little jerky in places. 4T- Between the two, your choice to use cobra roll was outstanding and executed those two gates perfectly. Great job. -Realistic layout that would be "typical" of a stand up lite. However- The track was a little jerky in places and lacked a great element selection. I also had a yellow g in the track. To both of you, great job with the contest! You both did phenomenally!
  8. My first year has been pretty awesome, absolutely nothing like high school so I am sure you will have a good time. This part of senior year though was way fun too though.
  9. ^and then you go to college and you get weekenditis. Even worse, it happens a lot...
  10. Yes, Manhattan express has otsr's that are adjustable by height. A decent picture can be found at rcdb where you can see the two otsr's and the track they slide in.
  11. Intamin seems to be adopting a new style of top hat on this ride, at least that is what it seems like to me. On the older models, the top hat seems to be more vertical for a longer amount of time than this coaster, but this coaster perhaps is more heartlined? I am probably just seeing things but that is what it looks like to me. Also, does this launch in the typical Intamin Accelerator launch fashion?
  12. ^^^^The track is not invisible, if you zoom in to beneath the floor level, you will see the track just chilling down there.
  13. I have seen that video, it is like one of those gyro flats but on a track right? That coaster concept looks interesting, but I have a hard time believing it as truth. You know when you spin a bicycle wheel when it is in your hands and the centrifugal forces keep it so it spins on a vertical axis, I think that that force would make the coaster a difficult thing to support structurally, but on the train and the track. If you had any weight difference on the trains, it would cause the trains to flip awkwardly and therefore stress everything. At least that is what I think.
  14. I am pretty sure they spin differently and are not exactly the same coaster, but I think they have the same concept.
  15. I am all about creativity but what was the point of that?
  16. ^^ According to rcdb, there are four pipeline coasters operating currently, all of which are in asia. http://www.rcdb.com/ir.htm?location=26371&type=1&design=73&status=9
  17. ^I could have sworn they did, but after browsing rcdb for awhile I couldn't find any built by arrow or ron toomer. Togo has built some in asia however. They are more the rct style pipeline.
  18. ^^^That is what Jamal told me when I talked to him a few days ago. Though most people here discredit what he had to say for much. But yes, I guess that is the intention of SFMM. If you have been following that Cedar Point off season fly over thread, you will notice that millennium island is all torn apart right now and cedar point did leak something about what is going on on the island. So I guess only time will tell who has the most coasters!
  19. Thanks for posting! Those videos were awesome, I just have a couple remarks I would like to say. -What is the coaster at 4:49 in the first video? -Sadistic names like ninja and vortex? Haha, that is pretty funny if you ask me. -Maybe it was just the movie, but they sure were quick to throw people on that pipeline coaster, and what someone could argue as the first "Norwegian loop".
  20. I think any place should be grateful for a fantastic coaster like this. But, IMO, I always love seeing more creativity put into building a coaster and not just building a clone of another coaster. I still am not sure what the point of the new supports is though.
  21. Great update! I have a couple questions though. -Why is the ocean drained? and because I just rode tatsu, why does manta have a zero car and tatsu does not?
  22. Too everyone- I was unaware that the senior supervisor was not as important as I had once thought. It just seemed like an interesting conversation I had with the man and he was definitely excited for the coming attractions. My bad though for creditting it for more than it was worth.
  23. ^^B&M launch? It would be awesome if that was true. ^Even still, a senior supervisor is high enough up the food chain to know at least a little. If it was a regular ride op or just the standard employee I wouldn't consider it for much, but coming from the guy who is in charge of all the rides from X2 to Tatsu, I feel he knows what is going on. Regardless, I will try and get some video or something tomorrw.
  24. After a long and fantastic spring break enjoying the sun in southern California, I ended up spending today and will spend tomorrow at a personal favorite, SFMM. I arrived at the park a little after opening and found myself being drawn to ride X2. Last time I was here it was still manly X in all its pink and yellow glory, so the new colors (and trains) called me! Firstly, I want to comment that I think the changed to the coaster are great. I really enjoyed the sound bumping during the entire ride, the fire and the great new trains. This second time of riding the ride was far better than the first. BUT, on to the point of this. As I completed my run on X2, the coaster actually broke down inbetween the old deboard and the station and we were stuck for a good 15 minutes. I decided to make small talk with a gentlemen by the name of Jamal who is the senior supervisor of the region (X2 to Tatsu). We played 20 questions, this is how it went... So, to sum all that up. SFMM will build a new coaster in 2010 AND 2011 and the new coaster in 2010 will be a new prototype coaster built (I know he didn't say this, but from his diction and body language I feel confident that it will be a B&M) by B&M. In the heat of the moment I forgot to ask about the coaster in 2011 but it should be cool! LET THE RUMORS BEGIN!
  25. As my theme park filled spring break comes to a close tomorrow, I have to say I have greatly enjoyed my opening to the theme park season. Did all the coasters in Vegas and all the big ones in socal. Surprisingly, I have not had a bad ride on any of them, even Manhattan express was fun!
